Earl Miles Young
Earl Miles Young, 67, of Medford, died Saturday, (Aug. 26, 2000) in Prospect. No service is planned.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1932, in Oroville, Calif. He moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Fortuna, Calif.
Mr. Miles served in the U.S. Army.
He worked as a firefighter for the California Department of Forestry for 32 years.
Mr. Miles enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, William, and Robert, both of Boulder Creek, Calif., and Jason, Klamath Falls; two daughters, Kelly Young, Dana Point, Calif., and Cathy Korengold, Corona, Calif.; two sisters Patricia Stanley, and Joy Evans, both of Alturas, Calif.; a brother, Bruce, Redding, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.

David William Putman
The graveside service for David William Putman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland. Pastor David Humphreys of Phoenix Church of Christ will officiate.
Mr. Putman, 82, of Medford, died Saturday (Aug. 26, 2000) in Medford.

He was born June 18, 1918, in Vancouver, Wash., a son of Floyd and Genie (Howe) Putman. He moved to the Rogue Valley when he was 4 years old. He moved to Baker, where he graduated from high school in 1936. In 1938 he moved back to Ashland and lived there off and on most of his life.
Mr. Putman was a radar technician during World War II, and inspector in Honolulu. He was a radio repeater installer in Southern Oregon, and worked for Crescent City Radio and TV for 28 years.
He was a member of the Medford and Ashland Amateur Radio Club.
When he was young, he enjoyed building model airplanes, and he set a record of five minutes, 55 seconds in a contest. He was a ham radio operator.
Survivors include two sisters, Eunice Merfeld, Medford and Audrey Smirl, Eugene. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jobbins.

Pearl Lorraine Stanford
Pearl Lorraine Stanford, 74, of Medford died Sunday (Aug. 27, 2000) at her home. No service is planned at this time.
She was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Pullman, Wash,
On Sept. 11, 1977, in Reno, she married Richard Stanford, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950 from Washington.
Mrs. Stanford worked as a cook for Howard Prairie Resort for 14 years.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and embroidery.
Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Barbara L. Barreras and Karla J. Chambers, both of Medford; a son, Richard, Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, Ross Cane, Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Alice Kotke, Central Point, Janet Marshall, New Plymouth, Idaho, and Nola Jack, Round Mountain, Nev.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Richard Dvorak
The graveside service for Richard Dvorak will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Camello Mifsud of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate.
Mr. Dvorak, 65, of Central Point, died Monday, (Aug. 28, 2000) at Laurel Residential Care.
He was born on May 26, 1935, in Dunn County, N.D., a son of Joseph and Agnes Dvorak. He had lived in the Rogue Valley for 18 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958 at Travis Air Force Base in Calif.
Mr. Dvorak worked as an architect for two years.
He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry, Lacey, Wash., and Theodore M., Spokane, Wash.; and a sister, Linda J. Phillips, Highland Ranch, Colo.

Lewis Dwight Hawes, Jr.
The memorial service for Lewis Dwight Hawes Jr. will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Cascade Christian High School in Jacksonville. Pastor Tim Olson of Bethel Church will officiate.
Lewis, 15, of Medford, died Sunday (Aug. 27, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 18, 1984, in Eugene, a son of Lewis D. Hawes Sr., and Katherine B. Hawes, who survive. He moved with his family to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Eugene.
Lewis attended Cascade Christian High School where he played football.
He was a member of the Navy Cadets in Medford.
He enjoyed the outdoors, karate and playing paintball.
Survivors in addition to his parents include, a sister, Jessica, Medford; a grandfather, Walter M. Hawes, and a grandmother, BJ McDowell, both of California, and grandparents, Art and Nani Camarena in Wyoming.

Judy Ann Clark
The memorial service for Judy Ann Clark will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of The River Catholic Community Church, in Rogue River. The Rev. John Cihak of St. Anne’s Catholic Church will officiate.
Mrs. Clark, 59, of Gold Hill, died, Sunday, (Aug. 27, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born April 12, 1941, in Fort Riley, Kan.
On Feb. 27, 1960, in North Highland, Calif., she married Charles Clark, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Roseville, Calif.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Roseville, Calif.
She enjoyed swimming, camping, traveling and arts and crafts.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Chris Sprague, Sparks, Nev., Pamela DeLuca, Oakland, Calif., and Tracy Rufenacht, Roseville; a sister, Jane Tinkle, Sacramento, Calif., and seven grand children.

Eugene E. Gemaehlich
The memorial service for Eugene Earl Gemaehlich will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Medford. Pastor Lehmann will officiate.
Mr. Gemaehlich, 67, of Central Point died Saturday (Aug. 26) at his best friend’s home in Beaverton.
Among the survivors not listed in Tuesday’s obituary are: his companion, Lourdis Petty; a brother, Dan Kelly, Brenton, Calif.; and two sisters, Noreen Gemaehlich, Wenatchee, Wash., and Roberta Gemaehlich, Modesto, Calif.

Beverly Marie Lawrence
The funeral for Beverly Marie Lawrence will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Temple, Central Point. Pastor Monte Love will officiate. Interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery Park in Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. Lawrence, 76, of Medford, died Thursday (Aug. 24, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1923, in Kewanee, Ill.
On June 23, 1962, in Bellflower, Calif., she married John Lawrence, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from Southern California.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Calvary Temple of Central Point.
She enjoyed creating and making miniature scenes and dollhouses and was a member of a local miniatures club.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Connie Ray, La Mirada, Calif., Colleen Bedow, Spokane, Wash., and Rhonda Moore, Huntington Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grand children.
