Lela Mae Collins
Lela Mae Collins, 88, of Medford, died Friday (Sept. 8, 2000) at Hearthstone Manor, in Medford. Interment will be in Arbor Vitae Cemetery, Madera, Calif.
She was born Lela Mae Finley on Nov. 6, 1911, in Ivy, Ark. She lived in Medford since 1996, moving here from Brookings.
Before coming to Oregon, she worked as a homemaker and apartment manager in Madera, Calif. During World War II, she worked as a riveter in Long Beach, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Taylor, Medford, and June Rice, Grants Pass; two sons, Bill Kanady, Medford, and Roy Collins, San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Gladys Doss, Oklahoma City, and Virginia Harrington, Malvern, Ark.; three brothers, Doyle Finley, Malvern, Ark., and Vernon and Franklin Finley, Leola, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Joseph Collins, her husband of more than 40 years, and a son, Thomas Kanady.

Jacqueline Rae Blood
Jacqueline "Jackie" Rae Blood, 59, of Central Point, died Sunday (Sept. 10, 2000) at her home. Private inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Jacqueline Rae Pepper on May 3, 1941, in Central Point, a daughter of Larry and Madge Berry Pepper. On Sept. 17, 1983, in Reno, Nev., she married Phillip Blood, who survives.
She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life, and worked for many years as a grocery checker at VanWey’s Market in Jacksonville.
She was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club and enjoyed golf, bowling, and collecting ceramic frogs.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Raymond Hayes, Medford, Glenn Hayes, Independence, Mo., and Ryan VanWey, Ontario; three daughters, Diana Myers, Medford, Lori Weaver, Central Point, and Renee Rose, Klamath Falls; six brothers, Mike, Pat and Buddy Pepper, all Medford, Dan and Steve Penland, both Medford, and Mark Penland, Nevada; four sisters, Debbie Suttle and Michelle Oliver, both Medford, Sally Sloan, Houston, Tex., and Linda Kreftmeyer, Boise, Idaho; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson and granddaughter.

Gloria L. Taylor
Gloria L. Taylor, 74, of Talent, died Wednesday (Sept. 6, 2000) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born July 4, 1926, in Portland, a daughter of Bill and Olive Hervey. She had lived in the Rogue Valley since early childhood and grew up in logging camps here.
On March 29, 1947, in Reno, Nev., she married Everett Taylor, who survives.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She worked at the Tally-Ho Restaurant, which was owned by her in-laws. She also owned a snack concession stand at Naumes packing house, where she was known for her home-baked pies.
She organized the Memorial Day cleanup at Stearns Cemetery in Talent and worked with her husband in the upkeep of the cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was an avid gardener, and was involved with the Talent Historical Society, tracing the genealogy and history of her family. She also belonged to the "Club, " a group of women friends who have met monthly since high school.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Vicki Taylor and Rhonda Tesh, both Phoenix, and Shari Brooks, Keaau, Hawaii; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two grandchildren.

Bertha M. Stayton
The graveside service for Bertha M. Stayton will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Stayton, 91, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 6, 2000) at her home.

She was born Bertha Frederick on Feb. 18, 1909, in Safford, Ariz.
On Sept. 24, 1926, in Phoenix, Ariz., she married Homer S. Stayton, who died in 1979.
Mrs. Stayton was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford Third Ward.
Survivors include two sons, Carol E., Medford, and Harold, Jamul, Calif.; two daughters, Beulah Farnsworth, Medford, and Bessie Osborne, Topock, Ariz.; one sister, Helen Flugger, Medford; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Darold H. Stayton; two brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
Thelma Ruth Dziarmaga
Thelma Ruth Dziarmaga, 87, of Phoenix, died Friday (Sept. 8, 2000) at Oakcrest Foster Care. The memorial service will be held in Spokane, Wash. Interment will be in Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, Wash.
She was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Spokane. She moved to the Rogue Valley 40 years ago.
Mrs. Dziarmaga was the bookkeeper for the city of Medford for seven years. She then worked as the office manager for Teamsters Local No. 223, retiring in 1977.
She enjoyed doing volunteer work for Providence Medford Medical Center.
Mrs. Dziarmaga was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include a nephew, E. J. "Bill" Mimnaugh, Worley, Idaho; and a niece, Judy Ho Ching, of American Samoa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wenanty Balbin Dziarmaga; three brothers, Leslie, Raymond and Kermit Miller; and a sister, Dorothy Jones.

Robert Gerald Ristow
Robert Gerald Ristow, 78, of Phoenix, died Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
He was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Long Beach, Calif., a son of Gerhardt and Nora (Patton) Ristow.
On Sept. 26, 1944, in Reno, Nev., he married Marjorie Frances Erhardt, who survives.
Mr. Ristow was an aerospace engineer with the U.S. Navy from 1947 until his retirement in 1977.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor.
Mr. Ristow enjoyed reading and remodeling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert L., Escondido, Calif.; a daughter, Robin G. Dean, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Marion Tangeman, Seabeck, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Virginia E. Campbell
Virginia Elizabeth Campbell, 91, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 7, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. No service is planned.

She was born Virginia Robinson on July 23, 1909, in Pittsburg, Kan.
On March 9, 1929, in Pittsburg, she married Arvle Campbell, who died in 1961.
Mrs. Campbell was a seamstress at a drapery manufacturing company in Bell, Calif., retiring in 1979. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1979 from Bell Gardens, Calif.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Medford.
Mrs. Campbell enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include a sister, Waletta Grant, Downey, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Glover; a son, Charles; two brothers, William and Frank Robinson; and a sister, Helen Frye.

Ron Bauman
The cryptside service for Ron Bauman will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Rabbi Rich Ford of Central Point will officiate.
Mr. Bauman, 54, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 7, 2000) at his home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Alameda, Calif., a son of Arnold and Nonie Bauman.
On Jan. 27, 1968, in Phoenix, he married Diana McDowell, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
Mr. Bauman owned and operated Bauman’s Fire Equipment Sales in Medford.
Known as "The Great Outdoorsman, " he spent the last 13 years volunteering for numerous organizations, and was a major motivator, organizer and promoter of the Hunter Education Program from its beginning. He was also an avid volunteer for United Hunters and Sportsmen, Inc.
Mr. Bauman enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Derek, Medford; a daughter, Erica Flynn, Medford; a brother, Denny, Central Point; a sister, Joy Davis, Medford; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
