Frederick Wildenberg Jr.
The memorial service for Frederick William Wildenberg Jr. will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Henry Zollbrecht of the Portland Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Mr. Wildenberg, 89, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 14, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Battle Creek, Mich., a son of Frederick William and Claire Wildenberg.
On Sept. 14, 1930, in Lagrange, Ind., he married Alice Martha Nelson, who died in 1999. He moved to Medford in 1976 from California.
Mr. Wildenberg owned and operated Fred’s Dry Cleaning Pick-up and Delivery from 1976-1997. He also worked in pharmaceutical sales.
He was a member of the Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Mr. Wildenberg was a former minor league pro-baseball player and an avid fan of the game. He enjoyed photography and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Ronda Hollis, Medford; a son, David, Kirkland, Wash.; a sister, Jeanne Shafer, Central Point; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel, Medford.
Frederick W. Spooner
Frederick Wilbur Spooner, 90, of Medford, died Thursday (Sept. 14, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born Sept. 19, 1909, in Georgetown, TWP, Mich., a son of Edward and Mary (Clousterhouse) Spooner. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University in 1933.
Mr. Spooner was the national sales manager at Shell Oil Company. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from Westport, Conn.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant junior grade, at the Naval Torpedo Station in Newport, R.I.
Mr. Spooner was a founding member of the Rogue Flyfishers, and was active in conservation causes.
He enjoyed fly-fishing on the Rogue River and many other favorite streams.
Survivors include a daughter, Maryjane Spooner, Ashaway, R.I.; and two sisters, Lois Hoffman, Newburgh, N.Y., and Eleanor Lewis, Dallas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, in 1997.

Claudine Alexander
The graveside service for Claudine Alexander will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Bethel Full Gospel Church in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Alexander, 68, of Gold Hill, died Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2000) at her home.

Theresa June Sweet
The graveside service for Theresa June Sweet will be at 1 p.m. today at Jacksonville Cemetery.
Ms. Sweet, 47, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 13, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 28, 1953, in Oceanside, Calif., a daughter of Darrell and Shirley Smith. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1953 from Oceanside, Calif.
Ms. Sweet attended Medford schools and graduated from South Medford High School in 1971.
She attended Rogue Valley Christian Church in Medford.
Ms. Sweet enjoyed singing and movies.
Survivors include a son, David, Central Point; her father, Darrell Smith, Central Point; three brothers, Mitch and Tim Smith, both Medford, and Mike McMillian, Eugene; a sister, Julie Eells, Central Point. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley McMillian; and a brother, Darrell Smith Jr., in 1994.

Harvey Claude Maxson
The graveside service for Harvey Claude Maxson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Maxson, 80, of Ashland, died Thursday (Sept. 14, 2000) in Ashland.

He was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Talent, a son of Edgar W. and Lucy Withrow Maxson. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
On Sept. 12, 1942, in Reno, Nev., he married Geraldine "Dolly" Glover, who died in 1994.
Mr. Maxson operated a rock crusher with the Jackson County Road Department. He was retired.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Maxson enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include a son, Terry, Eagle Point; and two daughters, Susan Perry, Eagle Point, and Judy Thompson Merryville, La. He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Glover.
Friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.
Constance V. Vincent
Constance Vivian Vincent, 97, of Portland, formerly of Medford, died Aug. 22, 2000, in Portland from aspiration pneumonia and Parkinson’s disease. No service is planned. Private interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
She was born Oct. 20, 1902, in Boring, a daughter of Robert and Mary Lovelace.
In 1924, in Portland, she married Noble Vincent, who died in 1989. They moved to Medford in 1937.
Mrs. Vincent and her husband owned and operated Noble’s Shoes in the Fluhrer Building on South Central Avenue at the current site of City Park. They were in business until 1969 when the whole block in downtown Medford burned.
After selling her home in 1994, she moved to Fountain Plaza. She moved to Portland in 1996 to be near her daughter and family. In November 1996, she suffered a stroke and moved to Mt. St. Joseph Nursing Home.
Mrs. Vincent was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club for more than 45 years.
She was an avid golfer and maintained her golfing membership, and continued playing into her 80s. She also belonged to the Women’s group and traveled around the state playing in Southern Oregon tournaments.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene Muchow, Portland; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Amos Lee Craig
The funeral for Amos Lee Craig will be at 10 a.m. today at Perl Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Chuck Tiffey of Trinity Baptist Church, Central Point, and Pastor Johnny Lay of Foothills Baptist Church, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Craig, 81, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Sept. 11, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church, Church Loan Fund, 2555 Corey Road, Central Point, OR 97502.
He was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Anderson, Ala., a son of Edward and Ida (Weldon) Craig.
On Nov. 21, 1936, in Anderson, Ala., he married Kathryn White, who survives.
Mr. Craig was a Southern Baptist pastor in California and Oregon from 1944-1971. He was licensed to preach in March 1944 in Taft, Calif., and ordained to preach in June 1944 in Firebaugh, Calif. He retired due to poor health. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959 from Burney, Calif.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing tomatoes.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Bob F., Eagle Point, two daughters, Wanda L. Riley, Medford, and Debra C. Scearcy, Central Point; a sister, Lourene Corrum, Anderson, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph E.; a sister; and seven brothers.
