Rose Marie Eismann
Rose Marie Eismann, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (March 30, 2000) at her home. No services are planned.

She was born Rose Marie Fausti, on Feb. 18, 1913 in Walla Walla, Wash.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1952 from Portland.
Mrs. Eismann was a medical transcriptionist at Providence Hospital.
She enjoyed flower gardening, music, art and literature.
Survivors include; a son, Detlef J., Medford; a daughter, Rosemary Eismann, Modesto, Calif.; three brothers, Remo T., Fausti, Olympia, Wash., Jeff Fausti, and Vincent Fausti, both of Walla Walla, Wash.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred D., a sister, Louise Pettyjohn and a brother, Carl Fausti.

John Paul 'JP' Studer
The memorial graveside service for John Paul "JP" Studer will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Studer 78, of Medford, died Wednesday (March 29, 2000), at his home.
He was born August 20, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
On June 20, 1964 in Reno, Nev., he married Ruth Ann Camp, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1979 from Southern California.
Mr. Studer was a estimator for the construction business most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He was a prisoner of war during World War II. He received several medals, including: the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal and the Asian-Pacific Service Medal.
Mr. Studer was a life member of American Ex-Prisoners of Wars-VFW No. 1833-BPOE-Elks-DAV.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Marietta Nelson, Rowland Heights, Calif.; two sons, Paul John Studer, Meridian, Idaho, and Larry P. Camp, Reno; a sister Marguerite Werman, Lady Lakes, Fla.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Forrest E. 'Pappy' Parks
The memorial service for Forrest E. "Pappy" Parks will be at 1:30 p.m. today in the Burns Riverside Chapel.
Mr. Parks, 85, of Florence (formerly of Central Point) died March 24, 2000 at his home.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1914 in Stanton, Mo., a son of Benjamin Parks and Lola Armistead. He moved to Florence 12 years ago from Central Point.
Mr. Parks worked in the 3C's, and in Forest Management until he retired in 1976.
He enjoyed the outdoors, reading and storytelling.
Survivors include, a daughter, Marcella "Marie" Carnes, Florence; two brothers, Don, Overland Mo., and Charles, Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Joseph 'Joe' B. Mimbs
The graveside service for Joseph "Joe" B. Mimbs will be at 2 p.m. Monday, in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Mimbs, 66, of Abilene, Tex., formerly of the Rogue Valley died Tuesday (March 28, 2000), at Abilene, Texas.
He was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Macon, Ga. He lived in the Rogue Valley from 1978 to 1998.
Mr. Mimbs worked as an inspector in the construction industry.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1960.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Jr., Redding Calif. and Jimmy, Alaska; a daughter, Michelle Sprague, Henderson, Nev.; four brothers; three sisters; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald.

Willis Howard Elam, 75, of Medford, died Thursday (March 30, 2000) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Ross M. Conner
The memorial service for Ross M. Conner will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Applegate Community Church. Pastor Kurt Krowel will officiate.
Mr. Conner, 86, of Applegate, died Wednesday (March 29, 2000) in Medford.
He was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Floydada, Texas, a son of Edward and Fanny (Pyles) Conner.
On Sept. 29, 1935, in Carlsbad, N.M., he married Juanita Barton, who survives.
Mr. Conner was a lineman and foreman for Pacific Power from 1939 to 1978. He was also an oil field worker.
He was in the National Guard for three years during the 1930s.
Mr. Conner was a member of Applegate Community Church.
He enjoyed welding Western Art. He had received training at the Fort Smith Auctioneer School in Arkansas and enjoyed auctioneering.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jerry, Prineville; a daughter, Billie Wood, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a brother, Edward Jr., Medford; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roby and Clarence; and a sister, Florence Aslop.

Bertha Giles
Bertha Giles, 90, of Central Point, died Wednesday (March 29, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A private service will be held.
She was born Bertha Holybee on Oct. 24, 1909, in Ardmore, Okla. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1971 from Modesto, Calif.
Mrs. Giles was a homemaker.
She enjoyed dancing and playing bingo.
Survivors include four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid Giles; a daughter, Billie Jean Davis; and a son, Edward D. Johnson.

George Wayne Geist
The memorial Mass for George Wayne Geist will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate. Inurnment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
Mr. Geist, 73, of Central Point, died Tuesday (March 28, 2000) at his home.

He was born April 4, 1926, in Kearney, Neb., a son of William and Leto Geist. He moved to Los Angeles as a young man.
On Aug. 22, 1965, in Long Beach, Calif., he married Joann Artz, who survives. They raised their children in Whittier, Calif., then moved to Lakewood, Calif., and to Fallbrook, Calif. in 1981. They moved to Central Point in 1998.
Mr. Geist was a typewriter repairman for Southern Pacific Railroad and the Long Beach Unified School District. He also owned and operated his own typewriter repair shop in Downey, Calif. In Fallbrook, Calif., he was the office manager for A-1 Appliance.
He was a member of the Local and State Association for the Deaf of California, and a past member of the Lions Club in Fallbrook and Bonsall, Calif. He was a Mason and a member of the Central Point Lions Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Sharon Hill, Cle Elum, Wash., Dianne Pollack, Issaquah, Wash., and Nancy Morrison, Fresno, Calif.; a step-daughter, Victoria McCollister, Fullerton, Calif.; three stepsons, Thomas Tobiason, Central Point,
Richard Tobiason, Mustang, Okla., and Michael Tobiason, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Helen O'Meara and June Wilshire; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers, Frank, Bill and Tom; a sister, Sally Adams; and his first wife, Arlene.
