Carol Lorraine Tams
The memorial service for Carol Lorraine Tams will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Medford. The Rev. William Lehmann will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tams, 70, of Medford, died Friday (March 31, 2000) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Bisbee, Ariz., a daughter of William Fletcher and Hazel (Garnier) Gregory. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Richmond, Calif.
On Nov. 4, 1949, in Medford, she married Thomas Tams, who survives.
Mrs. Tams was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Tams enjoyed gardening, fishing, cross-country skiing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Debbie Martin, Talent, and Vicki Seed, Turner; a brother, William Gregory, White City; and four grandchildren.

Erwin Walter Cole
Erwin Walter Cole, 87, of Medford, died Monday (April 3, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born May 22, 1912, in La Crosse, Wis., a son of Walter and Pearl (Eddy) Cole. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Nebraska.
Mr. Cole was a photographer for the U.S. government.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Cole enjoyed photography.
Survivors include a son, Walt, Medford.

William Charles Daly
The Mass of Christian Burial for William Charles Daly will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in Rogue River. The Rev. Gregory Moys will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodville Cemetery.
Mr. Daly, 80, of Rogue River, died Sunday (April 2, 2000) at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, Calif.
He was born July 3, 1919, in Los Angeles.
On April 18, 1942, in San Francisco, he married Tommie Jean Bailey, who survives. They moved to Rogue River from Southern California in 1979.
Mr. Daly retired from RCA and NBC Studios as an electronics engineer.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Daly enjoyed being a ham radio operator, camping, boating and family gatherings.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Michael Charles, Yorba Linda, Calif.; two daughters, Diane Harrison, Lemon Cove, Calif., and Marianne Eubanks, Medford.

Christopher B. Atherton
The memorial service for Christopher B. Atherton will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland.
Mr. Atherton, 44, of Medford, died Monday (April 3, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Anne H. Van Valzah
Anne Hamilton Van Valzah, 75, of Ruch, died Monday (April 3, 2000) at her home. The memorial service will be held later.
She was born April 12, 1924, in Portland, a daughter of Robert and Zelda Hamilton Van Valzah. She moved to the Rogue Valley 70 years ago from Portland.
Ms. Van Valzah was an elementary school teacher in Hawaii, Germany, Arizona, and then in Ruch, where she taught for 22 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a wildlife protector and was active in the Sunshine Village Association of Ruch.
Ms. Van Valzah enjoyed traveling and collecting gems and minerals.
Survivors include a sister, Margery Fawcett, Tahoe Paradise, Calif.

Jayne Prentice
The memorial service for Jayne Prentice will be at 11 a.m. today at Eastwood Baptist Church. Pastor George Nye will officiate.
Mrs. Prentice, 79, of Medford, died Saturday (April 1, 2000) in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastwood Baptist Church, 1390 Ridge Way, Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Upper Lake, Calif., a daughter of George and Silvia (Alley) Haycock.
On Jan. 1, 1942, in Lakeport, Calif., she married Dale Prentice, who died in 1990.
In 1944, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with honors. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959 from Redding, Calif.
Mrs. Prentice was a therapeutic dietician at Rogue Valley Medical Center, retiring in 1969.
She was a member of the American Association of University Women and Eastwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Prentice enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Dave G., Medford; a daughter, Silvia Dutkiewicz, Medford; a sister, Inez O'Bryant, Lucerne, Calif.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Edward Houston
The memorial service for Edward Houston will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Houston, 74, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (April 2, 2000) at his home.
He was born April 3, 1925, in Hansen, Wis., a son of Andrew and Anna (McClain) Houston.
On Oct. 27, 1957, in Las Vegas, he married Salli Harnes, who survives. He moved to Oregon 29 years ago from California.
Mr. Houston was a self-employed building contractor.
During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps as a waistgunner in a B17 bomber, flying 25 missions in Europe and North Africa.
He enjoyed fishing and swap meets.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Edward A., Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Terry A., Montesano, Wash.; a daughter, Pattie Lynn Turnipseed, Loogootee, Ind.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
