Martha Joan Case
Martha Joan Case, 66, of Medford, died Friday (April 7, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born May 24, 1933, in Prescott, Ariz., a daughter of Frank and Helen Wilburn.
Mrs. Case was an animator for Disney and Hanna-Barbera in films and television.
She was a member of the Motion Picture Cartoon Animation Union.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Brad Case, Medford; a son, Stephen M. Swanson, Medford; her mother, Helen Wilburn, Medford; and a sister, Frances Winslow, Medford.

Olive Pride Hodapp
Olive Pride Hodapp, 94, of Ashland, died April 1, 2000, at her home. No service is planned. Private interment will be next to her husband in Golden Gate Memorial Park, San Bruno, Calif.
She was born Olive Esther Pride on Feb. 19, 1906, in Westbrook, Maine. She graduated from Emerson College in Boston.
In 1943, she married John Dale Pye Hodapp, who died in 1957. She lived in several areas of the East Coast; in Dallas, Texas for seven years; and in Palo Alto, Calif. for 35 years. She moved to Ashland in 1988, to be near her family. She lived at Mountain View Retirement Community for the past 3 years.
Mrs. Hodapp taught English, public speaking and dramatics for many years on the East Coast. She retired from teaching in 1943, but remained devoted to her profession and corresponded with two of her students until the time of her death.
In Palo Alto, Calif., she was a member of the Palo Alto Garden Club for more than 40 years and was an active volunteer with Community Association for Rehabilitation (CAR) -- a program that provided support services for handicapped children and their families.
Mrs. Hodapp was an accomplished painter. She enjoyed tending her gardens.
Survivors include a son, Brooks Pride, Ashland; a daughter, Jane Maynard, Ashland; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Clara Luella Zeman
The funeral for Clara Luella Zeman will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Perl Funeral Home, Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. Zeman, 83, of Shady Cove, died Saturday (April 8, 2000) at her home.
She was born Clara Luella Case on Sept. 26, 1916, in Toledo, Ohio.
On July 20, 1935, in Bowling Green, Ohio, she married Vernon Zeman, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley from Southern California in 1988.
Mrs. Zeman was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed ocean beaches and traveling with her husband in their motor home.
Survivors include three sons, David Zeman, Los Vegas, Nev., Donald Zeman, Sioux City, Iowa, and Daniel Zeman, Central Point; a daughter, Bonnie Tiedy, Medford; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Perl Funeral Home in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Lois L. Latham
Lois L. Latham, 89, of Medford, died Saturday, (April 8, 2000) at her home. A private service is planned.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald T. Latham, Medford; two daughters, Lynn Ann Lane, Coos Bay, and Julie Vincent, Newberg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lois L. Latham
Lois L. Latham, wife of Gerald Latham, retired Mail Tribune general manager and long-time civic leader, died Saturday (April 8, 2000) at her home in Medford. She was 89.
Mrs. Latham was born Sept. 14, 1910, in Ada, Okla., a daughter of Oscar W. and Oda Lindsey. The family lived in Colorado and Coos Bay, before coming to Medford in 1925.
A 1927 graduate of Medford High School, Mrs. Latham later attended Medford Business School. After working for a women's-ready-to-wear store, in 1930 she became the private secretary for Robert W. Ruhl and Sumpter Smith, editor and publisher and general manager, respectively, of the Mail Tribune.
She later transferred to the newspaper's accounting department, where she remained until retiring in April 1976.
In 1932 she was selected Miss Medford by the Medford Chamber of Commerce and represented the city in several events throughout the state.
On July 3, 1937, in Medford, she married Gerald Latham, who survives.
Mr. Latham frequently spoke of the couple's first date. He was in charge of selling 25-cent chances on the World Series. After he won the pool three years in a row, Lois refused to buy a chance.
"If you buy and I win, " Jerry said he told her, "I'll take you out to dinner." He did and the couple double-dated, going to Wolf Creek in Jerry's new car.
Unfortunately, Lois was allergic to the banana oil in the car's paint and they ended the evening at the doctor's office. Becoming quite ill, she missed three days of work.
It was then, Latham admits, "I discovered she was rather nice."
The couple lived on Park Avenue for many years before moving to Horton Plaza in 1995.
For 11 years she served on her precinct's election board.
Mrs. Latham enjoyed sewing, bridge, crossword puzzles, and reading. She was a member of First Christian Church.

`Whitey' Dudansky
Edwin "Whitey" Dudansky, 87, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (April 6, 2000) at Hearthstone. A private service will be held later.
He was born May 10, 1912, in Detroit, a son of Otto and Emma Dudansky.
On March 2, 1933, in Bowling Green, Ohio, he married Lucille Lowien, who survives.
Mr. Dudansky was a clerk for General Motors, retiring in 1962. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from Estral Beach, Mich.
He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and baseball.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Bonita Ruth Delladio, Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Ruby Marie Swagerty
Ruby Marie Swagerty, 89, of Central Point, died Friday (April 7, 2000) at her home. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass.
She was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Fort Morgan, Colo., a daughter of Willis Theron and Effie Mae (Shaulis) Moser.
On Nov. 4, 1936, in Las Vegas, she married Charles Haskell Swagerty, who died in 1992. She lived in Grants Pass from 1942 to 1960, when she moved to Central Point.
Mrs. Swagerty worked in the canteen at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary in White City.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Medford, and was a charter member of the North Pacific Grange in Merlin.
Mrs. Swagerty enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Melody Hall, Central Point; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, in 1991.

John K. Cope
The graveside service for John K. Cope will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The American Legion Honor Guard will officiate.
Mr. Cope, 63, of Medford, died Thursday (April 6, 2000) at Hearthstone in Medford.

He was born April 28, 1936, in Alton, Ill., a son of Everett Lee and Ethel Sellian (Hutchins) Cope.
Mr. Cope worked for Bear Creek Corporation as a maintenance man. Most recently, he worked in the bakery department.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Cope enjoyed gardening and sports. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
