John E. Myers

The funeral for John E. Myers will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mr. Myers, 86, of Medford, died Sunday (April 23, 2000) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Prineville. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1934 from Prineville.

On Feb. 21, 1948, in Medford, he married Mary Jane Beebe, who survives.

Mr. Myers was the principal at Phoenix Grade School for 16 years, and taught at Keno and Central Point schools. During the summers, he was a ranger at Crater Lake. He also worked at First Federal Savings and Loan of Medford for 10 years.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe for three years during World War II.

Mr. Myers was a member of the Methodist Church, the Rotary and the Kiwanis Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Myers, Medford. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Opal Larson

The memorial service for Opal Larson will be at 1 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church on Crater Lake Ave. A private graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Larson, 88, of Medford, died Sunday (April 23, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Christian School Foundation, 649 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Opal Eades on April 29, 1911, in Alturas, Calif. Her family was one of the first to settle in Oregon in 1847.

On Dec. 28, 1936, in Minneapolis, she married Reuben R. Larson, who died in 1983.

Mrs. Larson taught elementary school, and was a school principal in Richvale, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Klamath Falls in 1970.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Larson enjoyed teaching women's Bible classes at the First Baptist Church and other churches she attended throughout her life.

Survivors include a son, Colin Reuben, Medford; a daughter, Jewell Ann Joslen, Gresham; a sister, Lucille Stead, Taylorsville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Eades.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Willie 'Cricket' Tibbets

The funeral for Willie S. "Cricket" Tibbets will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mrs. Tibbets, 84, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (April 22, 2000) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity, or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201-3095.

She was born Willie Crockett on Nov. 16, 1915, in Barfield, Tenn. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1950 from Tennessee.

On March 21, 1953, in Reno, Nev., she married Thomas Tibbets, who survives.

Mrs. Tibbets was an LPN at the Osteopathic Hospital at North Central and Jackson in Medford.

She was a member of the Methodist church and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a sister, Nellie Kent, Medford. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Charlotte Marjorie Epp

The memorial service for Charlotte Marjorie Epp will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the family home, 2912 Foots Creek Road, Gold Hill.

Mrs. Epp, 82, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (April 20, 2000) at Hearthstone.

She was born June 26, 1917, in Paso Robles, Calif., a daughter of John and Ramona Johnson.

On Oct. 2, 1938, in Santa Maria, Calif., she married Peter Epp, who died in 1980. She moved to Grants Pass in 1983 from Bakersfield, Calif.

Mrs. Epp enjoyed reading, bridge, board games and spending time with her grandsons.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Vander Meulen, Gold Hill; and two grandsons.

Arrangements: Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives.

Rev. B.J. Holland

The memorial service for Rev. B.J. Holland will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Ashland. Private inurnment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

Rev. Holland, 85, of Ashland, died Monday (April 24, 2000) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Dialysis Foundation, 1150 Creekside Circle, Medford, OR 97504, or to a favorite charity.

He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a son of Burnett and Adie Holland.

On May 27, 1944, in Bismarck, N.D., he married Olga G. Gehring, who preceded him in death. He moved to Ashland in 1955 from Salem.

Rev. Holland served as minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland for 24 years. He continued as pastor emeritus following his retirement in 1979.

He was a member of the Cascade Presbytery, Alpha Chapter No. 1 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Malta Comradery No. 4 Knights Templar, Ashland, The Red Cross of Constantine, Rotary International, Masonic Lodge No. 23, Ashland, Siskiyou Chapter No.

21 Royal Arch Masons, and the Table Rock Council No. 15 Cryptic Masons, Medford.

Survivors include two sons, Jon B., Sherwood, and Jay H., Seaside; two daughters, Joleen Phillips, Talent, and Carlista Barttels, Puyallup, Wash.; his twin sister, Annette Paetznick, Minneapolis; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother; and one grandson.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Garland 'Nanny' Ross

The memorial service for Garland "Nanny" Glenva Ross will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Rogue River Veterans of Foreign Wars. Chaplain Jack Zeiser will officiate. A finger food potluck will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Ross, 90, of Rogue River, died April 18, 2000, at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue River Friends of the Library, P.O. Box 1075, Rogue River, OR 97537.

She was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Milo, a daughter of Jack and Ella Higgins. She was a descendant of a pioneer family in the Days Creek area. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.

On Oct. 5, 1947, in Albuquerque, N.M., she married Walter Ross, who died in 1983.

Mrs. Ross was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Rogue River VFW Auxiliary and the World War I Veterans Auxiliary.

Mrs. Ross enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Survivors include a son, Robert, Grants Pass; three daughters, Mary Ann Ross, Rogue River, Joanne Parker, Clatskanie, and Doris Henigan, in Idaho; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.
