Arra Johnson
The cryptside service for Arra Johnson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Reflections Mausoleum in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Pastor Jean Paul DiBetta of Ashland will officiate.
Mrs. Johnson, 91, of Ashland, died Sunday (April 16, 2000) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.

She was born Dec. 10, 1908, in Braggs, Okla., a daughter of Caleb S. and Georgia (Starr) Gonzales. She grew up in the Braggs and Muskogee areas.
On Sept. 7, 1930, in Wagoner, Okla., she married Bert Johnson, who died in 1981. She moved to Oregon in 1948 and lived in the Cave Junction area. She later returned to Oklahoma, and lived in Florida for awhile. She moved to Phoenix in 1982 and to Ashland in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Byers, Ashland, and Gonza McDonald, Grants Pass; two sons, Bert, Kent, Wash., and William, Snohomish, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland St., Ashland.
John Francis Dee Sr.
The memorial service for John Francis Dee Sr. will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the River Haven Mobile Home Park Club House, 1241 Dowell Road, Grants Pass.
Mr. Dee, 81, of Grants Pass, died Saturday (April 15, 2000) at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1918, in Darby, Pa.
On Sept. 6, 1940, in Los Angeles, he married Opal Virginia Booth, who died in 1966.
In December 1969, in Las Vegas, he married Doris Marie Lemerex, who died in 1982.
Mr. Dee was a plasterer in the construction industry in California until his retirement in 1981. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1982 from Riverside, Calif.
He was a member of Plaster Union Local No. 200 in Riverside, Calif.
Mr. Dee enjoyed his work, buying cars and fixing them up and selling them, caring for his family and socializing.
Survivors include a son, John Francis Jr., Lanikai, Hawaii; two daughters, Melody Bean, Prospect, and Irene Joy Smith, Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William J.; and a sister, Margaret Farrell.

Bill Harmon Day
The memorial service for Bill Harmon Day will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The service will be for Bill and his wife, Alice, who died in 1997. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn of Providence Home Health Hospice will officiate.
Mr. Day, 77, of Medford, died Sunday (April 16, 2000) at his home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Emmett, Idaho, a son of Daniel and Pauline (Shumate) Day.
On Nov. 16, 1946, in Reno, Nev., he married Alice Louise Hale, who died in 1997.
Mr. Day was a heavy equipment operator and foreman for 17 years. He was recognized for patents on safety equipment. He moved to Oregon in 1971.
He served in the Marine Corps for 10 years during World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Day enjoyed gardening, especially planting trees and grapes.
Survivors include a daughter, Nikki Tawn McDowell, Medford; a son, Kim Harmon, Patagonia, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Augustus and Leo John.

Irene M. Manzi
Irene M. Manzi, 84, of Ashland, died Sunday (April 16, 2000) at Linda Vista Care Center. No service is planned.

She was born May 16, 1915, in New York City.
On June 9, 1940, in Bronx, N.Y., she married Thomas A. Manzi, who died in 1985. She moved to Ashland in 1989 to be near her family.
Mrs. Manzi was known throughout the Rogue Valley for the children's hats she crocheted and donated to charitable organizations over the years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Manzi, Medford.

Nadine Deal
A celebration of the life of Nadine Deal will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rock Point Cemetery.
Deal, 77, of Gold Hill, died Dec. 18, 1999, in San Felipe, Mexico.
She was a resident of Gold Hill for 41 years, and served as Gold Hill mayor in 1980.
Arrangements were handled in Mexico.
Clarence J. 'Cotton' Bailey
The graveside service for Clarence Jefferson "Cotton" Bailey will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Bailey, 79, of Medford, died Saturday (April 15, 2000) at his home.
He was born April 24, 1920, in Myrtle Creek, a son of Clarence W. and Lottie Bailey.
On March 18, 1948, in Medford, he married Dottie E. Brown, who died in 1999.
Mr. Bailey was a lifelong logger. He retired from loading log trucks 13 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Bailey enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and helping people.
Survivors include two sons, Michael, White City, and Clarence W., Redmond; a daughter, Betty Louise, Redmond; a sister, Alice Grimes, Central Point; a brother, Ralph, Lodi, Calif.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Emil Hugo Urich
The graveside service for Emil Hugo Urich will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. The Rev. William Dillard of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate.
Mr. Urich, 75, of Medford, died Monday (April 17, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Jasper, Ind.
On April 7, 1956, in Louisville, Ky., he married Mary H. Fleig, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1960 from Jasper, Ind.
Mr. Urich worked in the shipping department at Timber Products for 25 years, retiring in 1987.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Urich was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He collected toys, including Barbies and Hot Wheels, and enjoyed putting puzzles together.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Michael J., Medford, David L., Junction City, and Thomas J., Eugene; a daughter Deborah A. Urich, Portola, Calif.; a sister, Virginia Urich, Hood River; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
