Barbara Olive Lehman
Barbara Olive Lehman, 77, of Grants Pass, died Friday (April 7, 2000) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus, in Grants Pass. A private service will be held later.
She was born March 2, 1923, in Pioneer, Wash.
On Sept. 17, 1943, in Portland, she married Lynn Lehman, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1989.
Mrs. Lehman was the secretary to the first woman mayor of Portland. She retired from Children's Home Society in California in 1988.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Steve, Berkeley, Calif., and Jeff, Seattle; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Donald Earl Harrison
Donald Earl Harrison, 58, of Medford, died Sunday (April 9, 2000) at his home. A private service has been held. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 13, 1941, in Springfield.
On April 24, 1985, in Gold Hill, he married Linda Grace, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Amy Harrison, Medford; a son, Mike, Shady Cove; two brothers, Al, Portland, and Bob, Central, Alaska; and four grandchildren.

Eleanor A.L. Garner
The memorial service for Eleanor Adelaide Lucille Garner will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home in Grants Pass. Pastor Russ Gibson will officiate.
Mrs. Garner, 86, of Grants Pass, died Friday (April 7, 2000) at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Grants Pass.
She was born Sept. 29, 1913, in Grants Pass, a daughter of John and Adelaide Smith. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1931. In 1934, she graduated from Southern Oregon Normal School, now known as Southern Oregon University.
In 1941, she married Joseph Garner, who died in 1991.
Mrs. Garner taught for one year at Pleasant Grove School in Grants Pass and then worked as a substitute teacher during the 1950s.
Mrs. Garner and her husband owned and operated Garner Market in Wolf Creek from 1965 until their retirement in 1975.
She was a past member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Josephine Memorial Hospital, and was a member of River Valley Community Church.
Survivors include a son, John, Medford; two daughters, Jo Ann Breedlove, Grants Pass, and Adelaide Sanders, Kelton, S.C.; three brothers, Floyd Smith, Dale Smith and Lewis Smith, all Grants Pass; a sister, Lorene Hall, Reno, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Madison, in 1997.

David E. Hanks
David E. Hanks, 76, of Medford, died Sunday (April 9, 2000) at Hearthstone. A private service will be held.

He was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Hot Springs, S.D.
On Sept. 14, 1947, in Clinton, Wisc., he married Catherine Gunderson, who survives. He moved to Oregon in 1976.
Mr. Hanks was a master machinist.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Hanks enjoyed the Arizona desert, building things and working in his shop.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hanks, Medford.

Albert 'Al' F. Johnson
Albert "Al" F. Johnson, 88, of Trail, died Thursday (April 6, 2000) at his home. Private entombment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.

He was born Aug. 26, 1911, in Belfast, N.Y. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Belfast 60 years ago.
On July 5, 1940, in Carson City, Nev., he married Eva P. Elliott, who survives.
Mr. Johnson was a logger for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army in Africa during World War II.
Mr. Johnson attended Trail Community Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gordy, Eagle Point; a daughter, Peggy Dean Adolphson, Jacksonville, Fla.; and a sister, Esther Ryan, Perry, N.Y. He was preceded in death by a brother, John; and two sisters, Bernice Morrison, and Ann Stebbins.

Ava Imogene Herring
The memorial service for Ava Imogene Herring will be at 1 p.m. today in the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary Chapel in White City.
Ms. Herring, 73, of Medford, died Monday (April 10, 2000) at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Hanna, Okla., a daughter of David and Ethel (Thorp) Pendley. She completed two years of college.
Ms. Herring was a nurse in the U.S. Air Force. She served as a nurse in Panama in 1964.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Orlow, Central Point, William Orlow, Klamath Falls, and Mark Orlow, Sitka, Alaska.

Jean Boye Bartholomew
Jean Louise Boye Bartholomew, 90, of Medford, died Sunday (April 9, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later.

She was born Jean Gilbert on Dec. 26, 1909, in Hemet, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley 70 years ago, and lived in Gold Hill for 48 years.
On Jan. 2, 1979, in Medford, she married Everett L. Bartholomew, who died in 1985.
Mrs. Bartholomew was a clerk in the garden supply department at Grange Co-op.
During World War II, she logged more than 500 hours as an "airplane watcher."
Mrs. Bartholomew volunteered for the American Red Cross and Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was a member of the Shriners and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Bartholomew enjoyed gardening, outdoor sports, tailoring and handcrafting.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Boye, Medford; a daughter, Patricia A. Popham, Roseburg; and three grandchildren.
