'Ren' Miller Ells
The chapel service for Renwick "Ren" Miller Ells will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Ells, 85, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (May 4, 2000) at the Hearthstone Nursing Center.

He was born March 10, 1915, in Los Angeles.
On Aug. 17, 1969, in Reno, Nev., he married Virginia M. Hall, who died in 1998.
Mr. Ells worked for the Los Angeles Transit Line and for Sears as a hardware manager.
He was a Masonic Lodge member, a member of Hope Christian Church in Central Point and a ham radio enthusiast.
Survivors include two daughters, Minda Johnson, Medford, and Julie A. Byron, Jamestown, N.D.; a son, James B., Bremerton, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister in 1999.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Chapel.

Mabel I. Hanson
The memorial service for Mabel I. Hanson will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Shady Cove. Private interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
Mrs. Hanson, 87, of Portland, formerly of Trail, died Thursday (May 4, 2000) at a foster home in Portland.

She was born July 24, 1912, in Kamloops, British Columbia.
On Sept. 30, 1929, in Medford, she married Oscar Leonard Hanson, who died in 1983. They were active in the Shady Cove-Trail community for many years.
Mrs. Hanson served on the Elk Trail-Eagle Point school board for 20 years. She moved to Portland four years ago to be closer to family.
She belonged to the Rogue Valley Home Extension Unit, as well as many other community organizations.
Mrs. Hanson was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Shady Cove and helped to build the existing church.
Survivors include a son, Leonard, Trail; a daughter, Margaret Woods, Portland; a sister, Minnie Lacy, Trail; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

William Edison Acord
William Edison Acord, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (May 4, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born March 30, 1913, in Robinson, Ill. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1932 from Southern California.
On May 22, 1937, in Medford, he married Ruth Clark, who survives.
Mr. Acord was a meteorologist for 37 years with the National Weather Service in Medford.
During World War II, he served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army for three years.
Mr. Acord was a member of the Church of Brethren in Medford.
He enjoyed hunting and playing cards.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Judy Richards, Talent, Linda Tuning, Phoenix, Patricia Yarbrough, Killeen, TX, and Nancy Miller, Blue River; a son, Jim, Phoenix; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Opal Dee Colegrove
Opal Dee Colegrove, 70, of Medford, died Thursday (May 4, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service was held.

She was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Ohio, a daughter of "Doc" and Verlie Mae (Stevens) Keeton.
Ms. Colegrove owned and operated a video store. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1998 from Santa Clarita, Calif.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, bowling and crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Cleveland, Ohio, and Everett Thomas, Santa Clarita; two daughters, Dinah Colegrove, Medford, and Debra Gowdy, Santa Clarita; two brothers, Densil Keeton, Wilmington, Ohio, and Donald Keeton, West Liberty, Ky.; six sisters, Kay Stinson, Ferl Combs, Wanda Combs and Brenda Sue Cartwright, all Fairborn, Ohio, Jean Linden, Lexington, Ky., and Dolly Campbell, Miamisburg, Ohio; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edie Hill, and a brother, Kendall Keeton.

Donald Allen Westman
Donald Allen Westman, 63, of Talent, died Wednesday (May 3, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital. A private service will be held.
He was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Duluth, Minn.
On Aug. 7, 1963, in Las Vegas, he married Joan Brostrom, who survives.
Mr. Westman was a meat cutter until his retirement in 1993. From 1962 to 1984 he worked first for Boyd's Wholesale Meats and then became the meat manager at Duffy's Warehouse in Klamath Falls. From 1984 to 1993, he worked for Cartwright's Valley Meat Co. in Grants Pass. He retired in 1993 and moved to Talent from Grants Pass.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping and playing golf.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Pam Stroh, Portland, and Sherri Westman, Longview, Wash.; three sons, Daniel, Vancouver, Wash., Donald, Cascade, Idaho, and Douglas, Missoula, Mont.; two brothers, Roy, Modesto, Calif., and Robert, San Bernardino, Calif.; a sister, Violet Ross, Klamath Falls; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Wilbur `Bill' A. Berry
Wilbur "Bill" A. Berry, 71, of Medford, died Monday (May 1, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service will be held.

He was born May 27, 1928, in Medford, a son of Rollie and Isolene (Campbell) Berry.
On March 10, 1949, in Central Point, he married Donna M. Evans, who survives. He lived in Medford all his life.
Mr. Berry was a building contractor, retailer and store owner.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948.
Mr. Berry enjoyed golfing, traveling, his family and prospecting for gold.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Richard "Dick" W., Medford; a daughter, Carolyn L. Brown, Grants Pass; a brother, Rollie, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one grandson.

RoseMarie Hunsley
The memorial service for RoseMarie Hunsley will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prospect Baptist Church. Winifred Rains will officiate.
Mrs. Hunsley, 63, of Prospect, died Monday (May 1, 2000) at her home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Denver, a daughter of Alex and Iva Legler. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Colorado, and graduated from Crater High School in 1954.
On Aug. 17, 1957, in Medford, she married Harry N. Hunsley, who survives.
Mrs. Hunsley was a homemaker and Mail Tribune rural route carrier in the Prospect area. She also worked as a phone company operator from 1955 to 1958.
She was a member of Home Extension.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Bill, Prospect, Larry, Coffman Cove, Alaska, and David, Hoonah, Alaska; a daughter, Amy Spliethof, Grants Pass; a stepson, Rick Hunsley, Central Point; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Russell, Portland; two brothers, Gary and Tracy Legler, both Central Point; a sister, Cathy Fipps, Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven; and a grandson.
