Gary Parker Lee
A celebration of the life of Gary Parker Lee will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the family home.
Mr. Lee, 52, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2000) at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Washington, D.C. On March 26, 1982, in Ellicott City, Md., he married Marie Elizabeth Tucker, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1985 from Maryland.
Mr. Lee worked as a photographer and artist; he also was a engineer and mechanic. He and his wife created the "Pinehurst Inn."
He enjoyed helping people.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Mike Luxembourg, Los Angeles, and J.D. Austin, San Francisco; one brother, Bud Seymour; and a sister, Wendy Seymour, both of Blairsville, Ga.

Robert S. Wheeler
Robert S. Wheeler, 79, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 20, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1920, in Los Angeles. On March 25, 1967, in Monterey, Calif., he married Jean Higginson, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from California.
Mr. Wheeler served in the Army Air Corps, with the rank of first lieutenant, during World War II.
He was a rancher in California, where he grew wine grapes.
Mr. Wheeler enjoyed golf, watching football and other sports.
In addition to his wife, survivors include five sons, two daughters and several grandchildren.

Paul T. Franzen
The memorial service for Paul T. Franzen will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Medford.
Mr. Franzen, 87, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2000) at his home.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1912, in Portland. On Dec. 18, 1942, in Portland, he married Edna Larson, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Myrtle Point.
During World War II, Mr. Franzen served in the Army, 460th AA Battalion. He received the Bronze Star for valor.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland, where he was a fullback for the football team when it won the state championship. He received a teaching certificate from Oregon Normal School in Monmouth. He received his master’s degree in education in 1947 from the University of Oregon.
Mr. Franzen was the principal of Myrtle Creek School in Myrtle Point for 27 years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Point, where he served in many leadership positions. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford, a member of Theta Delta Phi, and the past president of Western Oregon Principal Association in 1950.
Mr. Franzen enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodcutting.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Paul, Longview, Texas, and John, North Bend; two daughters, Janis Arnsdorf, Medford, and Kathi Shull, Davis, Calif.; three sisters, Helen Gilligan, Portland, Hazel Lyon, Tigard, and Ronghild Pfeifer, Lake Oswego; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Boyer, Eba Pfeifer and Astrid Nelson; three brothers, Ralph, Sigvard and John; and one grandson.

Rosemary Gillette
The graveside service for Rosemary Gillette will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roseburg. The Rev. Mike Landers will officiate. A gathering will follow at the TeePee Tavern in Roseburg.
Mrs. Gillette, 79, of Medford, died Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2000) at Hearthstone, Medford.
She was born on May 5, 1921, in Corvallis, a daughter of John and Hazel (Rexford) Hill. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1999 from Roseburg, where she lived most of her life.
Mrs. Gillette was a dietary cook in a military hospital, until retiring in 1966.
She attended St. Joseph church in Roseburg.
Mrs. Gillette enjoyed collecting earrings, books, and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Pelkey, Medford; a son, David Wilson, Tigard; two stepsons, Jim and Steve Kelsch, both of Eugene; two stepdaughters, Vicki Lewton, Portland, and Judi Donner, Montana; a brother, Bruce Avrit, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Jeanne Proden, Eugene; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Gillette in 1964; and a daughter, Carol Wilson Gorman in 1994.

Clyde Oliver Yates
The graveside service for Clyde Oliver Yates will be at 11 a.m. today at Jacksonville Cemetery. Pastor Chad McComas of Set Free Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Mr. Yates, 80, of Central Point, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2000) at his home.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1919, in Malvern, Ark., a son of Joseph and Verdie Yates. In May 1965 in Reno, he married Ivanell, who died Oct. 31, 1992. He lived in Central Point from 1944 to 1963, then moved back in August 2000 from Nashville, Ark.
Mr. Yates worked as a driver for Madison Sand and Gravel, retiring in 1978.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include a daughter, Annette Osmond, Central Point; a son, Stan Graves, Olympia, Wash.; two sisters, Evelyn Vanslyke and Emma Sorenson, Fairfield, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane Graves in 1996; four brothers, Granville, Lloyd, Ace and Norman; and a sister, Betty.
Friends may pay their respects at 10:30 a.m. today at Central Valley Chapel, Central Point.
Wilson Q. Anderson
The funeral Mass for Wilson Q. Anderson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
Mr. Anderson, 80, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 22, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Anderson was born on April 18, 1920, in Twin Falls, Idaho. On Sept. 7, 1941, in Pocatello, Idaho, he married Ruth Carter, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1977 from Foster City, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Anderson worked for the U.S. Postal Service in quality control, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, third and fourth degree. He was on the Board of Directors of St. Vincent dePaul and volunteered at St. Vincent dePaul.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed golfing, woodworking and repairing clocks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen, Lake Stevens, Wash; two daughters, Elaine Bunch, Snohomish, Wash., and Janice Anderson, Eugene; one sister; one brother; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Marguerite Alice Wilds
The memorial service for Marguerite Alice Wilds will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ashland.
Mrs. Wilds, 79, of Talent, died Monday (Oct. 16, 2000) in Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1921, in Deer Creek, Okla., a daughter of Clarence and Vesta Comer. On Nov. 18, 1954, in Weed, Calif., she married Horace Wilds, who survives.
Mrs. Wilds worked as a waitress at the Star Inn and as a cook at the school cafeteria in Dorris.
She was a member of the Dorris Grange and the LDS Church.
Mrs. Wilds enjoyed sewing, quilting, arts and crafts and making stuffed toys for disabled children.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters, Peggy Callaghan, Ashland, Carole Ponce, Talent, and Dianna Grey, Anderson, Calif.; two brothers, Dale Comer, Chico, Calif., Bill Comer, Redding, Calif.; a sister, Rita Squiers, St. Joseph, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
