Marian Frances Butler
The memorial service for Marian Frances Butler will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Medford.
Mrs. Butler, 75, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Oct. 24, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Portland. On Feb. 5, 1949, in Portland, she married Virgil R. Butler, who survives. She moved to Ashland in 1987 from Berkeley, Calif.
Mrs. Butler was a 1948 graduate of the University of Oregon.
She was a member of the Chiomega Sorority and the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford.
Mrs. Butler was an ordained deacon with Presbyterian, USA and commissioned Stephen Minister in 1996. She retired from a pharmaceutical company in 1987.
She enjoyed church work, hiking, birds and gardening.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Stacy Rafter, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, the Rev. Ed Neuenfeldt, Portland; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell Kennedy and Phyllis Blomquist.

Elda A. Tripp
The graveside service for Elda A. Tripp will be at 2 p.m. today at Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River. The Rev. Gene Simmons of All World Church in Grants Pass will officiate.

Mrs. Tripp, 71, of Rogue River, died Wednesday (Oct. 25, 2000) at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Elda Almedia Edick on Aug. 15, 1929, in Nelma, Wis. On June 24, 1967, in Winterhaven, Calif., she married Richard Lewis Tripp, who survives.
Mrs. Tripp was a homemaker.
She enjoyed spinning, weaving and gardening.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Bob Palmer, Rogue River; three daughters, Veena Eddleman, Rogue River, Kay Runie, Salem, and Pam Ottis, Chicago; two brothers, Merton Edick and Jim Edick, both Eatonville, Wash.; three sisters, Mildred Ristvet, Puyallup, Wash., Vivian Gooding, Leavenworth, Wash., and Juanita Silvernail, Marysville, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Anna Lasseter
The memorial mass for Elizabeth Anna Lasseter will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Dillard will officiate. Inurnment will be in Ennis, Texas.
Mrs. Lasseter, 95, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 26, 2000) at Farmington Square, Medford.
She was born May 14, 1905, in Germany. On Jan. 1, 1925, in Dallas, she married Horace P. Lasseter, who preceded her in death in 1931. She moved to Medford in 1995 from Dallas.
Mrs. Lasseter worked for Southern Pacific Railroad during World War II. She bought and sold real estate.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Medford.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen J. Fuller, Medford, Mary E. Hall, Lake Isabella, Calif.; and Katherine Vasile, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; two brothers, Frank Becker, Ennis, Texas, and Joseph Becker, Redwood City, Calif.; two sisters, Catherine Caster, Dallas, and Rosemary McPeters, Irving, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Jean Stapley Baughman
The funeral for Jean Stapley Baughman will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Ashland.
Mrs. Baughman, 72, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Oct. 25, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1928, in Chicago, Ill. On Sept. 4, 1948, in Grants Pass, she married Rolland L. Baughman, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1985.
Mrs. Baughman attended Southern Oregon College.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Baughman was a member of the Relief Society, and the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society.
She enjoyed genealogy, making porcelain dolls, traveling and cooking.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Mark Rolland, Auburn, Wash., and Kevin Merrill, Santa Rosa, Calif.; two daughters, Laurie Baughman Bulson, Auburn, Wash., and Kim Baughman, Phoenix; a brother, Merrill Lawrence Jr., Fair Oaks, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilynn Stapley Smith.
Friends may pay their respects from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. Saturday, at the Ashland LDS Chapel.

Mary Magdalene Oyler
The memorial service for Mary Magdalene Oyler will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Covenant Life Ministries, Phoenix. Pastor Lee Saunders and Pastor Sharon Besler of Covenant Life Ministries will officiate.
Mrs. Oyler, 59, of Medford, died Wednesday (Oct. 25, 2000) at her home.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1941 in Bison, S.D., a daughter of Samuel and Magdalene (Rosen) Besler. On May 6, 1972, in Reno, she married Frannie Oyler, who survives. She moved to the Rogue valley in 1971 from Alhambra, Calif.
Mrs. Oyler was a homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and her grandkids.
In addition to her husband survivors include a daughter, Melissa Pickrel, Medford; a son, Mark, Medford; her mother, Magdalene Besler, Central Point; nine brothers; four sisters; and three grandchildren.

Richard Dean Ewen
Friends and family will gather for a open house celebration of life of Richard Dean Ewen, from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday. at the home of his parents, 299 Loto, Eagle Point.
Mr. Ewen, 30, of Eagle Point, died Thursday, (Oct. 26, 2000) at his home.

He was born on July 3, 1970, on Hahn Air Force Base in Germany, a son of John S. and Vicci S. (Coots) Ewen. Sr.
On July 4, 2000, in Eagle Point, he married Erica Soto, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from Long Beach, Calif.
Mr. Ewen worked for Northwest Fence Co. in Sams Valley. He was a cement finisher in construction.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Indian crafts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents; a son, Tiger Dean, Eagle Point; two daughters, Samantha Jolene, Grants Pass, and Alexis Elizabeth, Eagle Point; a brother, John "Steven" Jr., Eagle Point; grandparents Ellis M. and Margie Coots, Eagle Point; a grandmother, Edythe Ewen, Long Beach, Calif; and a great-grandmother, Johnnie Kendrick, Bakersfield, Calif.
