Albert Chase Sands
The memorial service for Albert Chase Sands will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Cove in Eagle Point. Pastor Ed Graham of the Butte Creek Bible Church in Eagle Point will officiate. Private interment will be in Brownsboro Cemetery, Eagle Point.
Mr. Sands, 89, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born May 12, 1911, in Pasadena, Calif. On April 23, 1932, in Glendale, Calif., he married Martha Ann "Sandy" Welsh, who died in 1997. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1965 from Pasadena, Calif.
Mr. Sands worked for various mills in the Northwest. Most recently, he worked for the Veterans Affairs Administration in White City, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Butte Creek Bible Church in Eagle Point.
Mr. Sands enjoyed gardening, bird watching and politics.
Survivors include a son, Clifford, Eagle Point; a daughter, Barbara Hawes, Burke, Va.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ashley Sands, in 1998, and Samuel Sands, in 2000.

Roseann ‘Annie’ Walker
A celebration of the life of Roseann M. "Annie" Walker will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Milwaukie Chamber of Commerce conference center, 7740 S.E. Harmony Road, OIT Portland campus, Portland. Pastors, who are family members, will officiate. Her ashes will be scattered during a private ceremony.
Mrs. Walker, 49, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 13, 2000) at her home.
She was born Aug. 22, 1951, in Klamath Falls, a daughter of Robert and Hildegard McClurg. She was educated at Sacred Heart Academy and Klamath Union High School, and received medical college training in Portland.
On Sept. 16, 1969, in Virginia City, Nev., she married James "Jim" G. Walker, who survives.
Mrs. Walker was a senior phlebotomist/medical technologist. She moved to the Rogue Valley this summer from Milwaukie.
She enjoyed gardening, painting still lifes, creating stained glass panels from her own patterns, and spending time with her granddaughters, niece and nephew.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Gregory S. (Karma Lodro Dawa), Portland; and Brian P., Milwaukie; a brother, Robert McClurg; a sister, Barbara Crawford; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hildegard McClurg; and a brother, Patrick McClurg.

Rose Catherine Beaty
Rose Catherine Beaty, 81, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 12, 2000) at the Health Care Unit of Rogue Valley Manor in Medford. No funeral is planned. A memorial service will be held at the manor in mid-December. Her paintings will be displayed during the service. Her ashes will be scattered into the upper Sacramento River.
She was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Alstown, Wash., and was raised on a wheat ranch near Waterville, Wash. After graduation from high school, she moved to Seattle, In Arlington, Va., she married Donald E. Snyder, who died in 1954. When her husband was shipped to England following his military training, she returned to Santa Rosa, Calif., to stay with her parents. After the war, she and her husband lived in Northern California.
In 1958, she married William Beaty, who died in 1989. They moved to Arcadia, Calif., where Mrs. Beaty attended Pasadena College and received a degree in art.
Mrs. Beaty was a painter. She worked in all mediums, but especially watercolors.
Following her husband’s retirement in 1971, they traveled in Europe, Africa, China and North and South American. Following William Beaty’s death, she continued to travel and devote herself to art. She moved to a Rogue Valley Manor cottage in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Don Snyder, Gold Hill; a brother, John Sonnichsen, Prosser, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy, Bremerton, Wash.; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann and Agness; and two brothers, Alex and Billy.

Margaret R. Shea
Margaret R. Shea, 82, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Nov. 15, 2000) at a foster care home in Medford. The memorial service will be held in Sacramento, Calif., at a later date.

She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the daughter of Wiley and Ruth Mae (Evans) Slagle. On Aug. 5, 1954, in San Francisco, she married Lawrence B. Shea, who died in January 2000.
Mrs. Shea was a homemaker. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1999.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include three sons, Harold and Fred, both Sacramento, Calif., and Jerry, Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Verlamae Cox, Central Point; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilber and Harold Slagle.

Louise Livingston
Louise Livingston, 72, of Medford, died Tuesday (Nov. 14, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service was held.

She was born July 26, 1928, in Newark, Ohio, a daughter of Asa Delbert and Lydia Marie Owing Osborn. She was married there in 1947 to Bernard Lee Levingston, who died in 1960.
Mrs. Livingston moved to Oregon in 1960, living in Salem and Medford. A homemaker, she enjoyed books and reading.
Survivors include two sons, David Lee Livingston and James Alan Levingston, both of Medford; a brother, Donald Lee Osborn, of Toboso, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Livingston Bowman; a brother, Lewis Cleveland Osborn, and an infant sister, Geneva May Osborn.

Thomas ‘Tommy’ W. Gilinsky
The funeral for Thomas "Tommy" W. Gilinsky will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain John Braund of Rogue Valley Hospice will officiate.
Mr. Gilinsky, 80, of Sumner, Wash., formerly of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 18, 2000) in Sumner.
He was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Portland, a son of Benjamin and Verl Gilinsky. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Portland as an infant and attended Medford schools.
Mr. Gilinsky worked in hotel and resort management in Medford, Klamath Falls and Alaska.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 514th Air Squadron in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge. He also served in the Korean War from 1950-52.
He enjoyed travel and gaming.
Survivors include his former wife, Betty Emma Samples, Sumner, Wash.; two sons, Thomas J. Wells, Anchorage, Alaska, and Lance H. Gilinsky, Sumner, Wash.; three daughters, Roberta Jane, in California, and Donna E. Lien and Carrie M. Jackson, both Sumner, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Stanley Darnielle, Jack, Rex, Max and Joseph Gilinsky; and two former wives.
Friends may pay their respects at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel, Medford.
Roger Keith Hobbs
The memorial service for Roger Keith Hobbs will be at 11 a.m. today at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Pastor Stan Johnson of West Main Church of Christ, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Hobbs, 69, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 19, 2000) at Hearthstone.

He was born July 10, 1931, in Chelsea, Okla. He moved to the Rogue Valley 58 years ago from Oklahoma.
Mr. Hobbs was a maintenance man for Central Point School District No. 6 for many years, retiring in 1995.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Hobbs was a member of the Baptist church.
He enjoyed fishing and shuffleboard.
Survivors include two sons, Steven, Eagle Point, and Kenneth, Central Point; a daughter, Deborah Williams, Central Point; five sisters, Erma Neal, Medford, Joyce Burns, Eagle Point, Anise King, Trail, Janet Trautman, Roseburg, and Barbara Grimm, Salem; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Ross; and a sister, Mary Sullivan.
