Jack Everett McCasland
The funeral for Jack Everett McCasland will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ashland Masonic Lodge.
Mr. McCasland, 88, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 27, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Home.
He was born May 26, 1912, in Plumerville, Ark., a son of James H. and Alice McCasland. In July 1935, in Arkansas, he married Clemmie Charton, who died in 1993. He moved to Rogue Valley in 1948 from Riddle.
Mr. McCasland was a mill trimmer for McGrew Brothers in Ashland, retiring in the 1960s.
He was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge.
Mr. McCasland enjoyed playing the fiddle.
Survivors include two sons, Everett, Riddle, and Ernest, Bothel, Wash.; a daughter, Marge Williams, Talent; two brothers; eight sisters; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford.
Edwin T. ‘Ted’ Carney
The memorial service for Edwin T. "Ted" Carney will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Church of Ashland.
Mr. Carney, 74, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital.

He was born April 25, 1926, in Monterey, Calif. He lived most of his life in the Santa Clara Valley, graduating from San Jose State College. In 1951, he married Lenore G. Gove, who died in 1993. In 1998, he married Beverly Major, who survives. They relocated to Ashland.
Mr. Carney was a redcoat for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
He was a 54-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, True Fellowship Lodge No. 52 in Santa Clara, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashland.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing and bowling. He was a member of two bowling leagues.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Barr, Karen Morris and Kathy Carney; a son, David; two stepchildren, Sandra and David Major; and two grandsons.

Elsie Estelle Perkins
Elsie Estelle Perkins, 92, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (Nov. 26, 2000) at a foster care home in White City. The memorial service will be held later.
She was born July 12, 1908, in York, Neb. On June 4, 1927, in Kansas, she married Wesley Perkins, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from California.
Mrs. Perkins taught school in Nebraska, Iowa and California, retiring in 1972. She was also an avid homemaker.
She was a member of the Congregational Church in York, Neb. She played the piano for the Eagle Point Grange and the Jackson County Pomona Grange.
Mrs. Perkins enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking and sewing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Charles A., Moro; a daughter, Donna J. Cull, Eagle Point; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley Maxine Byrnes
The memorial service for Shirley Maxine Byrnes will be at 2 p.m. today at 2508 Argonne Way, Medford.
Mrs. Byrnes, 78, of Medford, died Nov. 23, 2000, at her home.

She was born July 14, 1922, in Owosso, Mich.
Mrs. Byrnes was a telephone operator with Pacific Telephone Company. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Sacramento, Calif.
She enjoyed crafts and animals.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Byrnes, Medford; two sons, Ed Posusney, Spokane, Wash., and David R. Posusney, Petaluma, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Aundre Clifford Knutson
The memorial Mass for Aundre Clifford Knutson will be at 8:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Liam Cary will officiate.
Mr. Knutson, 57, of Medford, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2000) at his home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Glendale, Calif. He moved to the Rogue Valley 54 years ago from Glendale, Calif.
Mr. Knutson was a self-employed animator. One of the firms he worked for was Hanna-Barbera.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961-1964.
Mr. Knutson was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He enjoyed model trains and fishing.
Survivors include four sons, Olaf, Kaig and Zak, all Medford, and Aundre Jr., in Florida; a daughter, Jenny Knutson, Medford; five brothers, John Kosmatka, Emil Knutson, Gene Knutson and Richard Knutson, all Medford, and George Knutson, Sacramento, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Dennis G. Ochoa
The memorial service for Dennis G. Ochoa will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Jacksonville Odd Fellows Lodge.
Mr. Ochoa, 56, of Talent, died Saturday (Nov. 25, 2000), at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1944, in San Francisco, a son of Dennis and Kathryn Ochoa. He married Antionette Cardinale. They later divorced. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from California.
Mr. Ochoa was a carpenter.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, carpentry, and American Indian culture and spirituality.
Survivors include a son, David, San Francisco; a daughter, Denise Arruda, Portola, Calif.; a stepson, Matthew Corey, Ashland; a stepdaughter, Sarah Corey, Ashland; a brother, Larry Wing, Walnut Creek, Calif.; four sisters, Bonnie Davalos, Talent, Dolores Rivera, and Lavonne Ochoa, both San Francisco, and Sheila Andrade, Manteca, Calif.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Wing; and a sister, Sharon Alfoldy.

Sareva Loraine Stinton
The funeral for Sareva Loraine Stinton will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford. Pastors Kevin Gowland and Craig Rench will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mrs. Stinton, 81, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 27, 2000) at her home.
She was born Oct. 21, 1919, in South Dakota, a daughter of Floyd and Hattie (Spain) Peck. On Feb. 23, 1939, in Akron, Iowa, she married Lloyd Stinton, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1966 from Ashland, Neb.
Mrs. Stinton worked in the cafeteria at Jefferson Elementary School, and for the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Stinton enjoyed needlepoint, crafts, reading, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include five sons, Gary and Linden, both Medford, Robin, Eagle Point, Lenton, Omaha, Neb., and Larry, Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Colleen Josephson, Medford; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
