Inez Alberta Snider
Inez Alberta Snider, 96, formerly of Talent, died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland. A private memorial service will be held later. Inurnment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

She was born April 9, 1904, in Port Maitland, Ontario, Canada. On Oct. 17, 1923, in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada, she married Clark Emerson Snider, who died in 1997.
Mrs. Snider worked in the family business, C.E. Snider Contracting of Snyder, N.Y. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1971 from Canoga Park, Calif.
She enjoyed sewing, needlework and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Alberta Grieshober, Mesa, Ariz., and Carol Inez Stanfield, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Laverne Siddall, in 1937, and Clarence Edward Siddall, in 1985.

Donald Matthew Warnick
Donald Matthew Warnick, 88, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 7, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born March 19, 1912, in Bellingham, Wash. On Aug. 19, 1938, in Portland, he married Dorothy Griffin, who died in 1990. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1964 from Springfield.
Mr. Warnick worked for Standard Insurance in Springfield and Medford, retiring in 1974. Following his retirement, he was the golf course superintendent at the Rogue Valley Country Club for 10 years.
He was a member of Mensa and was active in the Lions Club in Springfield.
Mr. Warnick was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and reading.
Survivors include two sons, Joe, Medford, and Bill, Paris France; a sister, Evelyn Knapp, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.

Phillip James Keller
Phillip James Keller, 46, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) in Medford. A private service will be held later.

He was born Aug. 9, 1954, in The Dalles, a son of Philander O. and Hazel M. Keller. He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life.
Mr. Keller worked at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary in White City, retiring in 1997.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Renee Kyle, Medford, and Jami Keller, Christianburg, Va.; a son, Christopher, Medford; his mother, Hazel M. Keller, Medford; three sisters, Edie Williamson, Sams Valley, Jean Keller, Gold Hill, and Phyllis Jones, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Terry Canfield, Central Point, and Joe Keller, Medford; and four grandchildren. His father preceded him in death in 1976.

Charles Alva Ivie
Charles Alva Ivie, 80, of Spokane Valley, Wash., formerly of Ashland, died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at his home.
The celebration of life was held Saturday at Old European Waffles, Cakes & Teas in Spokane, Wash.
A local celebration of life will be held at the Ashland Parks and Recreation Building in Lithia Park at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born in Bozeman, Mont., a son of Alva and Lily (Bliler) Ivie, and attended school in Livingston, Mont., Neosho, Mo., and Willow Creek, Mont., where he graduated from high school. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Montana College in Dillon, Mont.
Mr. Ivie was a teacher and administrator in Billings, Mont. for 10 years, during which time he completed a master’s in education at Greeley, Colo.
In 1955, he married Janet Jones, who survives. They moved in 1957 to La Grande, where he worked for the Oregon State Department of Continuing Education.
Mr. Ivie transferred to what is now Southern Oregon University in 1960, achieved the rank of professor in 1966, and completed his doctorate in 1969 at the University of Oregon. He was a professor of education at Southern Oregon University, retiring in 1983.
He served as a captain in the Quartermaster Corps from 1941 to 1946 in New Guinea, and in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1953.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Susan Coffin, Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Betty Grooters, St. Louis; and one grandson.

Charles Alva Ivie
A celebration of the life of Charles Alva Ivie will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Hall, 59 Winburn Way, across from Lithia Park, in Ashland.
Mr. Ivie, 80, of Spokane Valley, Wash., formerly of Ashland, died Dec. 6, 2000, at his home.
Cecil Alvin Goheen
The memorial service for Cecil Alvin Goheen will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gold Hill.
Mr. Goheen, 98, of Gold Hill, died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1902, in Whatcom County, Wash., the son of Austin and Emma Goheen.
Mr. Goheen was a self-employed logger. He also worked as a longshoreman and in construction. He moved to Gold Hill a year and a half ago from eastern Washington.
He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gold Hill.
Mr. Goheen enjoyed gardening and Bible study.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Nelson, Gold Hill; a stepson, Jim Spragg, Roseburg; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Goheen, in 1958; and his second wife, Mary (Spragg) Goheen in 1989.

Robert Gene Brown
Robert Gene Brown, 77, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (Dec. 7, 2000) at Eagle Cove Assisted Living Facility. No service is planned.
Memorial contributions may be given to any charity.
Mr. Brown was born March 6, 1923, in San Jose, Calif., a son of Albert and Viola Brown.
On Nov. 11, 1944, in Los Angeles, he married Joyce Brown, who died in 1985. His second wife, Vivian Brown, died in 1999.
Mr. Brown moved to Southern Oregon in 1974 from La Mesa, Calif.
He was a loan officer at Equitable Savings & Loan in Medford and later worked for the Ben Franklin Bank of America. He served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 12, 1942 until Nov. 15, 1947.
Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling.
He is survived by a son, Michael G. Brown, Boring; stepson, Stephen Bridges, Margan Hill, Calif.; two daughters, Dottie D. Brown, Central Point, Jo Ann Moore, Medford; three sisters, Gwen Clarke, Ethel Batten and Dorothy Dunn, all of California; and three grandchildren.

Leslie Britton Hesson
The funeral for Leslie Britton Hesson will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Applegate Community Church, 18960 N. Applegate Road. Pastor Jason Burns will officiate. Interment will be in Logtown Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Hesson, 95, of Applegate, died Thursday (Dec. 7, 2000) at his home.

He was born Oct. 17, 1905, in Lafayette, Tenn. On Dec. 20, 1975, in Reno, Nev., he married Elaine K. Meeks, who survives.
Mr. Hesson was an electroplater and food concessionaire. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from California.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his former wife, Laverne Hesson, Riverside, Calif.; a son, Wesley, Martinez, Calif.; three daughters, Beverly Owens, Jacksonville, Barbara Walker, Riverside, Calif., and Sandra Fanuchhi, Martinez, Calif.; two sisters; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Hesson; two stepsons, Monte Bishop and Lonnie Bishop; two brothers; and eight sisters.
Friends may pay their respects at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Applegate Community Church.
