Hubertine Maria Bungart
Hubertine Maria Bungart, 98, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 8, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. No service is planned.
She was born Hubertine Voss on May 19, 1902, in Friesenhagen, Germany. In 1936, in Germany, she married Paul Bungart, who died in 1953.
Mrs. Bungart taught piano in Germany. She moved to Princeton, N.J., in 1961 from Germany, and to the Rogue Valley in 1991 from Seattle.
She did community work, and enjoyed painting, reading and writing.
Survivors include a son, Lutz, Ashland; a brother, Franz Voss, in Germany; a sister, Maria Voss, in Germany; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Agnes Davidson
The memorial service for Agnes Davidson will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Medford Southwest Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Don C. Farnsworth will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Davidson, 85, of Central Point, died Dec. 3, 2000, at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born Agnes Rego on Feb. 10, 1915, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She married John Davidson, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Davidson was a member of the 3rd Company, 3rd Regiment, 1st Women’s Army Corps Training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa.
She had been a member of the Medford Southwest Church of the Nazarene since 1991.

Carl L. Dawson
The graveside service for Carl L. Dawson will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trail Cemetery. The land for Trail Cemetery was donated by his grandfather, Levi Dawson. Joe Hobbs of Chiloquin will officiate.
Mr. Dawson, 88, of Shady Cove, died Monday (Dec. 11, 2000) in Medford.

He was born Sept. 18, 1912, in Trail, the son of Robert and Loulillian Dawson. He was raised in Trail and graduated from Butte Falls High School. In 1932, in Port Angeles, Wash., he married Christine E. Shadley, who died in 1986.
Mr. Dawson worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man, then as a fishing guide on the Rogue River for 20 years. He guided Ginger Rogers and David Niven on fishing trips. In 1955, he moved to Chiloquin, where he logged and later owned and operated his own sand and gravel company. He returned to Shady Cove in 1999.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chiloquin.
Mr. Dawson enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing in Alaska.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Baker, White City, Eileen Dawson, Shady Cove, and Nadine Hatcher and Sharon Benson, both Chiloquin; a son, Ron, Medford; 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Conger-Morris in Medford.
Ruth ‘Ina’ Pinniger
A celebration of the life of Ruth "Ina" Pinniger will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at her home, 709 N.W. Fourth St., Grants Pass. Inurnment will be in Granite Hills Cemetery, Grants Pass.
Mrs. Pinniger, 88, of Grants Pass, died Friday (Dec. 8, 2000) at her daughter’s home in Medford.

She was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Endicott, Wash. She moved to Grants Pass in 1928 from Vancouver, Wash. In 1931, she auditioned in Portland for the Atwater-Kent Foundation of Philadelphia, an organization for the discovery and encouragement of American singers. She represented Grants Pass and won first place. For many years, she sang at various functions.
On Dec. 19, 1933, in Klamath Falls, she married Harry B. Pinniger, who died in 1983.
Mrs. Pinniger lived in Roseburg during World War II, where she was a civilian defense volunteer sky watcher, military host and lookout for foreign planes with the 4th Interceptor Command.
She was a member of the Grants Pass Lady Elks.
Mrs. Pinniger enjoyed sewing, her family, crossword puzzles, gourmet cooking and casino trips.
Survivors include a son, Harry G., Portland; a daughter, Patricia Grace Knutson, Medford; a brother, Terrill A. Jones, Grants Pass; a sister, Delma Jean Klassen, Grants Pass; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Jones, in 1989; and three sisters, Grace, in 1932, Francis in 1994, and Marjorie in 1999.

Opal Lola Bieberstedt
The funeral for Opal Lola Bieberstedt will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor Ed Graham of Little Butte Bible Church will officiate. Private interment will be in Brownsboro Cemetery.
Mrs. Bieberstedt, 79, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (Dec. 9, 2000) in Eagle Point.

She was born Opal Lola Crafton on Oct. 29, 1921, in Chelsea, Okla. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1941 from Kansas. In 1956, she married Donald Carl Bieberstedt, who died in 1998.
Mrs. Bieberstedt worked at Brown’s Market in Eagle Point, and part-time at the Eagle Point Post Office.
She was a member of the Little Butte Bible Church in Eagle Point.
Mrs. Bieberstedt enjoyed flower gardening and was a well-known babysitter in the Eagle Point area.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Chamberlain, Eagle Point; a daughter, Paula Joham, Trail; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Gertrude Zelma Flesner
The funeral for Gertrude Zelma Flesner will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lundberg’s L.B. Hall Funeral Home in Grants Pass. Pastor Brian Boysen of Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River will officiate. Interment will be in Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River.
Mrs. Flesner, 85, of Rogue River, died Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at her home.

She was born Feb. 4, 1915, in Flincreek, Idaho, a daughter of Thomas and Gertrude Swearingen. He graduated from Williams High School in 1932. On Nov. 27, 1947, in Anchorage, Alaska, she married Dale Flesner, who survives. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1988 from Paradise, Calif.
Mrs. Flesner was a volunteer at the Rogue River Chamber of Commerce.
She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River.
Mrs. Flesner enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering and oil painting.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Sandra Matthews, Butte Falls; a son, James, LaJolla, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Swearingen; and three sisters, Lucretia Wright, Cleo Reel, and Opal Batty.

R. Blaine Cobat
R. Blaine Cobat, 90, of Ashland, died Thursday (Dec. 7, 2000) at his home. A private service will be at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church. The Rev. Brendan McAnerney will officiate.

He was born Sept. 16, 1910, in Salem, a son of George Reuben and Hazel Mae (Raymond), Cobat, and attended schools in Washington and Oregon. On July 2, 1930, in Corvallis, he married Rose M. Reller, who survives.
The Cobats owned and operated sawmills in Oregon, Alaska and Montana from 1945 to 1981. They moved to Ashland in 1996.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Janet Hyland, Gilroy, Calif., and Carmen Ferguson, Ashland; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters; two brothers; and one granddaughter.
