Inice Fern Pierce

Inice Fern Pierce, 83, of White City, died Monday (Dec. 18, 2000) in Medford. The graveside service was held Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Stan Johnson officiated.

She was born March 12, 1917, in Drumwright, Okla., a daughter of Fred D. And Ollie (Grogan) Inman. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1937 and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1945. On June 26, 1945, in San Bernardino, Calif., she married Bert J. Pierce, who died in 1998.

As a young woman, Mrs. Pierce worked as a nanny and housekeeper for two naval commanders in San Bernardino, Calif. She also worked for the War Department and as a pear sorter for Modoc Orchard Co. during harvest time.

She was a member of the Table Rock Ladies Club.

Mrs. Pierce enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita M. McGrath, and Lorieta F. Pierce, both White City; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Boren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Billie Jean Rodgers

The memorial service for Billie Jean Rodgers will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Chapel. Pastor Stan Johnson will officiate.

Mrs. Rodgers, 59, of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (Dec. 20, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Wenatchee, Wash., the daughter of Bill and Ruby Moyer. She moved to Medford in 1952 from Washington and graduated from Medford High School. On March 6, 1965, in Winnemucca, Nev., she married Larry William Rodgers, who survives.

Mrs. Rodgers was a service associate with Eagle Point School District No. 9 for 23 years.

She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Lon W., Eagle Point; and four brothers, Randy Moyer, Klamath Falls, Bruce Moyer, Salem, Ward Moyer, Tucson, Ariz., and Robert Moyer, Moses Lake, Wash.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Edward Charles LeShane

The graveside service for Edward Charles LeShane will be at 3 p.m. today at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.

Mr. LeShane, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 20, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Attn: Virginia Vogel, 550 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, OR 97520.

He was born May 26, 1916, in Cambridge, Mass., a son of Albert and Vera LeShane. On Nov. 27, 1947, in Medford, he married Elva A. Westcott Singleton, who survives.

Mr. LeShane worked for West Coast Airlines in Medford and Hughes Air West in Eugene, retiring in 1980. He lived in Eugene for 30 years, moving to Medford in 1999.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Camp White.

Mr. LeShane was a member of the Kiwanis of Eugene.

He enjoyed traveling and golf.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Al, Punta Gorda, Fla.; a sister, Helen Gillespie, Hartford, Conn.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Singler, in 1995.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

W.T. ‘Wayne’ Tyner

The graveside service for W.T. "Wayne" Tyner will be at 10 a.m. today at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Tyner, 75, of Ashland, died Monday (Dec. 18, 2000) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Forget-Me-Not Fund, Attn: John Murnane, 233 Rogue River Highway, Suite 162, Grants Pass, OR 97527.

He was born April 11, 1925, in Curry, Texas, the son of William Seyfuss and Martha Lee (Sanchez) Tyner. On Dec. 31, 1965, in Albany, Ga., he married Iris. They moved to the Greensprings area in 1970.

Mr. Tyner served the U.S. Air Force for 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Rick, in California, and Gary, in Nevada; three daughters, Corina Noah, Frederick, Md., Patricia Gutschmidt, Jamestown, N.D., and Pamela Taylor, Frederick, Md.; his mother, Martha Salyer; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Pauline Chanroux Swain

The memorial service for Pauline Chanroux Swain will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Bentonville, Ark. The Rev. Darwin King will officiate.

Mrs. Swain, 95, of Bentonville, formerly of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (Dec. 20, 2000) in Bentonville.

She was born June 13, 1905, in Flushing, Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Eugene and Anna Josephine Stoppenbach Chanroux. On Jan. 1, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colo., she married Cluron S. Swain, who died in 1971.

Mrs. Swain was a librarian. She lived most of her life on the Rogue River in Grants Pass. She moved to Oklahoma in 1995 to live with her great niece, Billie Sue Records. They moved to Bentonville in 1997.

Survivors include two nieces, Louise Swain Sherwood, Neosho, Mo., and Genie V. Montgomery, Oklahoma City; five great-nieces; and many great-great-nieces and nephews.

Arrangements: Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville.

‘Bob’ Wilson Jackson

Robert "Bob" Wilson Jackson, 96, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Dec. 19, 200) at Alderwood Assisted Living in Central Point. No service is planned.

He was born May 15, 1904, in Munlocky, Scotland, the son of Robert and Janet Jack. He moved to Northern California from Scotland in 1921. In 1980, he moved to Brookings-Harbor, and to Central Point in 1998.

Mr. Jackson worked in a lumber mill, as a boiler mechanic, and did ranch and farm work. He retired as farm manager for a farm that grew cuttings for floral shops.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

Mr. Jackson enjoyed fishing until age 93 and walking.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Eliason, Medford, and Loretta Trzaska, Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Jackson.

Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation and Funeral Care, Central Point.

Edward Charles LeShane

The graveside service for Edward Charles LeShane will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mr. LeShane, 84, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 20, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Sharon Lee McDougall

Sharon Lee McDougall, 62, of Medford, died Dec. 13, 2000, at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 10, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born July 29, 1938, in Dorris, Calif., the daughter of Herb and Mary Gordon. On Oct. 15, 1960, in Reno, Nev., she married Gerald L. McDougall, who died in 1987. They moved to the Rogue Valley from Klamath Falls in 1968.

Mrs. McDougall was a homemaker.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, music and singing.

Survivors include two daughters, Janis Rio, Medford, and Rhonda Kaye McDougall, Aloha; and two grandchildren. Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
