V. ‘Mac’ MacPherson
V. Burton "Mac" MacPherson, 79, of Selma, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Saturday (Dec. 23, 2000) at his home. A private service will be held later. Private interment will be in Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, Calif.

He was born June 17, 1921, in Stoneham, Mass., a son of V. and Pearl MacPherson. He attended schools in Mountain View, Calif., then Columbia Academy near Battleground, Wash., and graduated from Lodi Academy in Lodi, Calif. He attended Stanford University for one year. In 1940, he married Irvine Pyke. They later divorced. In 1976, in Southern California, he married Karen Wilson, who survives.
Mr. MacPherson was an electrical contractor for 40 years. He belonged to Operating Engineer Local 701 for 60 years. He worked in Vancouver, Wash., and Oregon and retired from his electrical contracting business in 1986. He moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago, and to Selma in 1996.
He was a member of the Rogue River Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Mr. MacPherson enjoyed traveling, computers and photography.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Bill, Portland, and Jack, Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Nancy MacPherson, Portland; two stepsons, Ed Morgan, Tucson, Ariz., and Michael Wilson, Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Janice Fleshman, Parker, Colo., and Shelley Taylor, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Carroll, Calimesa, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his adopted sister.

Kenneth M. Jorde
Kenneth M. Jorde, 58, of Salem, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Dec. 17, 2000, in Salem. The memorial service was held in the chapel at Howell-Edwards-Doerkson with Rigdon-Ransom in Salem.

He was born May 28, 1942, in San Fernando, Calif. He graduated from Eagle Point High School in 1960, and from Oregon State University in 1968. On Feb. 20, 1965, he married Barbara Gysin, who survives.
Mr. Jorde worked for First National Bank from 1968-1974, and for the state of Oregon Housing Agency from 1974-1978. From 1978 until his death, he worked as a general contractor, and owned his own company, Glass Block and Tile Connection and J. Company.
He served in the National Guard.
Mr. Jorde was a member of the Lutheran church.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting and fishing, and was a classic movie buff.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Whitney, Salem, and Eric, Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Janice Smeltz, Reno, Nev.; and his companion of 11 years, Shawn Kohler, Salem.

Oliver Stanley Smith
The memorial service for Oliver Stanley Smith will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ruch Community Bible Church.
Mr. Smith, 87, of Jacksonville, died Monday (Dec. 25, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Ormal Cholet Kellogg
Ormal Cholet Kellogg, 76, of Ashland, died Dec. 22, 2000, at a health care facility in Phoenix. No service is planned.
She was born June 8, 1924, in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Arsey and Madelyn Hotchkiss.
Ms. Kellogg was a self-employed housekeeper and cook.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanna Davis, Ashland; and a son, Bruce Sawhill, Winston-Salem, N.C.

Eloise Blanche Evans
Eloise Blanche Evans, 97, of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. No service is planned. Entombment will be at Portland Memorial, Portland.
She was born Dec. 20, 1903, in Zion, Ill., a daughter of Edgar and Blanche Anderson. On Sept. 3, 1937, in Alhambra, Calif., she married Gordon Evans, who died in 1982.
Mrs. Evans was a secretary at a credit agency. She lived in Los Angeles most of her adult life, moving to Portland following her retirement. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1983.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Evans enjoyed knitting and rose gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Oxner, Medford, and Peggy West, Mount Shasta, Calif.; a sister, Leah Satterburg, Seattle; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Sarah Keil Watson
The memorial service for Sarah Keil Little Watson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Light of Life Lutheran Church in Aloha. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Watson, 86, of Salem, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2000) in Salem, of a heart attack.
Memorial contributions may be made to Light of Life Lutheran Church, 7390 S.W. Grabhorn Road, Aloha, OR 97007.
She was born Sarah Little on June 20, 1914, in Des Moines, Iowa. On May 28, 1938, she married Archer H. Watson Jr., who died in 1999. She received a bachelor’s degree in 1936 from the University of Oklahoma, and a master’s degree in special education in 1970 from the University of Oregon. She moved to Medford in 1953 from Oklahoma and to Aloha in 1989.
Mrs. Watson was an elementary school teacher in Medford from 1953-1979. She taught third grade at Jackson Elementary School, and special education at Howard Elementary School, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and a past officer of Rogue Valley Genealogical Society.
Mrs. Watson was a member of Light of Life Lutheran Church in Aloha, and was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Medford.
Survivors include a son, Albert M., Aloha; a daughter, Catherine Rogosin, Salem; a brother, William B. Little, Oklahoma City; and one grandchild.

Thomas Newton Yancey
The graveside service for Thomas Newton Yancey will be at 11 a.m. today at Central Point Masonic Cemetery. Pastor Lee Gregory will officiate.
Mr. Yancey, 87, of Central Point, died Saturday (Dec. 23, 2000) at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the World War II Memorial Fund, Washington, D.C.
He was born July 24, 1913, in Nocona, Texas, a son of Sim and Sally Yancey. On April 18, 1942, in Austin, Texas, he married Edna Linville, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Texas.
Mr. Yancey was a building contractor for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Yancey was a member of the Methodist church.
He enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Joanne Bigman, Gold Hill, and Linda Kitselman, Medford; a brother, John, Granville, Texas; a sister, Mary Jo O’Neal, Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects at 10:30 a.m. today at Central Point Masonic Cemetery.

Burle Cameron Welburn
Burle Cameron Welburn, 62, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 22, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service will be held. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 26, 1938, in Medford, a son of Harold and Delia Welburn. On July 31, 1965, in Medford, he married Sandra Kline, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
Mr. Welburn worked in the construction and restoration of vintage homes. He retired from Timber Products in 1987, and retired from Gazebo Works in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-1961.
Mr. Welburn enjoyed restoring cars, sculpturing and painting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Andy, Medford; a daughter, Jennifer Welburn, Medford; and one granddaughter.
