Herrel F. Denney
Herrel F. Denney, 88, of Medford, died Dec. 24, 2000, at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. No service is planned. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
She was born Feb. 25, 1912, in Burnham, Mo. In 1950, in Medford, she married Noel Z. Denney, who died in 1974. She lived in the Rogue Valley for 53 years.
Mrs. Denney enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Kerry D. Cochran, Medford; a daughter, Gayleen Hayes, Medford; a sister, Mona Applegarth, Canoga Park, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Roy, Robert, Orvel, Lasker, Hugh and Rowland; and four sisters, Jewell, Ruth, Vera and Viola.

Carl Houston Cook
The funeral for Carl Houston Cook will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel. The Rev. Tim Olson of Bethel Assembly of God will officiate. The graveside service will follow.
Mr. Cook, 91, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 6, 2001) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

He was born Feb. 17, 1909, in Sallisaw, Okla., a son of James Monroe and Rosa Alice (Richardson) Cook. On April 20, 1930, in Altus, Okla., he married Neva N. Bentley, who died in 1994. They moved to Rogue Valley in 1951 from Southern California.
Mr. Cook was a crop farmer in Southern California until he was 40. After moving to Medford, he worked for Medco until his retirement at 65.
He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
Survivors include a son, Dale H., Medford; three daughters, Carlene Hunt and B. Marilyn Crichion, both Medford, and Betty Lou Killough, Rockport, Texas; a brother, Otis Cook, Sallisaw, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hillcrest Chapel, Medford.
Ewin Neil Stone
The memorial service for Ewin Neil Stone will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Stan Johnson of West Main Church of Christ will officiate.
Mr. Stone, 78, of Ashland, died Dec. 21, 2000, at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Portland, a son of Ewin and Helen Stone.
Mr. Stone was a music teacher at grade schools and high schools in Anderson, Astoria and Rogue River.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Archer, Felton, Calif., and Neila Burns, Mira Loma, Calif.
Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Alberta McDonough
The memorial service for Alberta McDonough will be at 1 p.m. Friday at West Main Church of Christ. Pastor Stan Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. McDonough, 79, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 8, 2001) at a foster home.
She was born Alberta Wingler on Dec. 11, 1921, in Douglas County, Ill. On Nov. 24, 1944, in Las Vegas, she married Paul D. McDonough, who died in 1990. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1959 from Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. McDonough was a secretary for Medford School District 549c, retiring in 1985 after 20 years.
She was involved in various Bible studies through the years, and volunteered at West Main Church of Christ, where she was a member.
Mrs. McDonough was a member of Club 94, formerly Jackson County Home Extension.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Sutherlin, Medford; two sons, Thomas, Medford, and Terry, Jacksonville; her father, Delbert Wingler, Medford; two brothers, Melvin Wingler, Medford, and Larry Wingler, Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Beulah Eagleton, Medford; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Harriett L. Hudspeth
The memorial service for Harriett L. Hudspeth will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trail Community Church. Pastor Ron Welch will officiate.
Mrs. Hudspeth, 88, of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 7, 1912, in Newcastle, Ind., the daughter of Ernest and Julia Palmer. On Aug. 25, 1935, in Whittier, Calif., she married Stewart Hudspeth, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from California.
Mrs. Hudspeth was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Upper Rogue Historical Society.
Mrs. Hudspeth enjoyed knitting and church activities at Trail Community Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Calvin, Monmouth, and Warren, Klamath Falls; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest and Ralph Palmer.

Harry Edward ‘Ed’ Cole
The funeral for Harry Edward "Ed" Cole will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Valley Chapel in Central Point. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Cole, 76, of Central Point, died Sunday (Jan. 7, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 4, 1924, in Golden City, Mo., a son of W.B. and Ethel Cole. On May 6, 1956, in Wichita, Kan., he married June Harbour, who survives. They moved to Central Point in 1956 from Wichita.
Mr. Cole was an aircraft technician for Northrop Corp. in California, retiring in 1988.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Cole enjoyed fishing and making wooden model airplanes and windmills.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Naomi, Mary, Reta and Patricia; three stepsons, Rex Harbour, Minden, Nev., Walter Harbour, San Diego, and William Harbour, Wichita, Kan.; four brothers, Jim, Siloam Springs, Mo., Richard, Springfield, Mo., and Mo and Ralph, both in Texas; and three sisters, Alice Kitchen, Bentonville, Ark., Della, in Louisiana, and Beulah, Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Anthony J. Machado
The funeral Mass for Anthony J. Machado will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Machado, 85, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 8, 2001) at his home.

He was born April 17, 1915, in Hanford, Calif. On March 21, 1941, in Yuma, Ariz., he married Marie Badinelli, who survives.
Mr. Machado was a pilot for Flying Tiger Line Freight Co. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Huntington Beach, Calif.
During World War II, he was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Machado enjoyed photography and making amateur family videos and movies.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five daughters, Roberta Machado, DiNah Machado, and Angela Machado, all Medford, Christine Machado, Bolinas, Calif., and Madonna Machado, Eau Claire, Wis.; seven sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a great-grandchild.
