Carla Linda Hamilton
The memorial service for Carla Linda Hamilton will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. Pastor Stan Johnson of West Main Church of Christ will officiate.
Mrs. Hamilton, 50, of Ruch, died Friday (Jan. 5, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Carla Carls on Nov. 23, 1950, in Roseburg. She received a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Christian College in Eugene. On Aug. 19, 1990, in Sunriver, she married Sam Hamilton, who survives.
Mrs. Hamilton was a directory assistance operator for AT&T. She later worked for U.S. West in the business office and selling yellow page ads.
She was a member and steward of CWA Union (Communication Workers of America).
Mrs. Hamilton enjoyed gardening, traveling and reading.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a stepson, Devin Hamilton, Loda, Ill.; a brother, Gary Patterson, Portland; and a sister, Karen Vermeer, Eugene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys Ohman Carls.

Geraldean Noble Hill
Geraldean Noble Hill, 89, of Medford died Wednesday (Jan. 3, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Hill was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Sheridan, Mont.
She had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1978, moving from Springfield.
Mrs. Hill and her mother homesteaded in Montana when she was a child.
An active member of the Grange, she devoted her life to her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Gilliam of Oahu, Hawaii; a sister, Jenell Balboni of Ontario, Calif.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Nan R. Darras
Nan R. Darras, 79, died Wednesday (Jan. 3, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
A Medford-area resident for 59 years, Mrs. Darras was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Stanley, N.M.
On Nov. 27, 1941, in Welb County, Colo., she married Ben F. Darras, Sr., who survives.
Mrs. Darras was a homemaker. From 1955 to 1960, was cook for Central Point School.
She was a member of the Table Rock Sewing Club and enjoyed gardening, oil painting and quilting.
Survivors, in addition to her spouse, include daughters, Micki A. Chin of Denver, Colo. And Bobbi J. Bolender of San Leandro, Calif.; a son, Ben F. Darras, Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Holden Herrin of San Rafael, Calif. And Roy Herrin of Orangevale, Calif.; a sister, Fern Fagan of Talent; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Betty Jean Beale
The graveside service for Betty Jean Beale will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. Bishop Russ Walker of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford Third Ward, will officiate.
Mrs. Beale, 73, of Central Point, died Friday (Jan. 5, 2001) at her son’s home in Central Point.

She was born Betty Holt on Jan. 30, 1927, in Glendale. On Aug. 6, 1977, in Reno, Nev., she married Jack Beale, who died in 1999. They moved to the Rogue Valley in the 1950s from Coos Bay.
Mrs. Beale was a purchasing agent for Jedlow Brothers Corporation in Gold Hill, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the Medford Third Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mrs. Beale enjoyed knitting, gardening, fishing and reading.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Orr and Jerry Orr, both Central Point; two stepsons, Mike Beale, Eagle Point, and Wayne Beale, Medford; a brother, Phil Holt, Medford; a sister, Del Christianson, Medford; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Mike Orr and Rik Orr.

Floyd Melvin Yost
The memorial service for Floyd Melvin Yost will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Medford. Elder Jim Berglund will officiate.
Mr. Yost, 83, of Medford, died Dec. 28, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Madras, a son of John and Maud Yost. On Feb. 14, 1940, in Olympia, Wash., he married Carol D. Trovillo, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1951 from Vancouver, Wash., and lived in Shady Cove and Medford.
Mr. Yost was an independent contractor in the logging industry for many years. He also owned and operated Shopper’s Guild Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the Adventist Self-supporting Industries (ASI) Organization.
Mr. Yost enjoyed hiking, berry and mushroom picking, gospel music and his male quartet.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Gene, Medford, and Jerry, Tigard; two daughters, Judy Yost Miller, Florence, and Coleen Yost Thomson, Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies; two brothers, Leonard and George, both Medford; a sister, Mildred Mathews, Granite Bay, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold, in 1959.

Margaret M. Davis
The memorial service for Margaret M. Davis will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Pastor Rod Howell of the Central Neighborhood Church in Phoenix will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.
Mrs. Davis, 94, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 6, 2001) at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1906, in Kawanee, Ill., a daughter of Joseph and Anna Victoria (Fekete) Kantor. She came to Oregon in 1915. On May 16, 1927, in Jacksonville, she married Ellis Davis, who died in 1952.
Mrs. Davis retired in 1975 after more than 30 years in the food service department at the Veterans Administration Domiciliary.
She enjoyed her family and home life.
Survivors include a son, James A. Sr., Medford; three brothers, John and Henry Kantor, both Medford, and Elmer Kantor, Talent; a sister, Helen Olson, Talent; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Davis; two sisters, Anne Palmer and Lillian Busey; two brothers, Bill and Joe Kantor; and a grandson.

Winifred ‘Wyn’ D. Braun
The memorial service for Winifred "Wyn" Doreen Braun will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Church (Assembly of God) in Medford. Pastor Tim Olson will officiate. Interment will be in Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall, Calif.
Mrs. Braun, 78, of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Jan. 7, 2001) at her home.

She was born Winifred Larson on Aug. 30, 1922, in East Chain, Minn. On June 14, 1947, in Pasadena, Calif., she married Harold Braun, who died in 1975.
Mrs. Braun was a secretary for the state of California until her retirement in 1986. She moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Los Angeles.
She was a member of Bethel Church.
Mrs. Braun enjoyed art, gardening and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Durst, Jacksonville; a son, Richard, Portland; a brother, Gerald Larson, Sarasota, Fla; two sisters, Marilyn Gangstee, Medford, and Bernice Howell, Beltsville, Md.; and five grandchildren.
