J. Boyce Kellogg Sr.
The funeral for J. Boyce Kellogg Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park. Dr. Larry Jung of the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville will officiate.
Mr. Kellogg, 86, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville Building Fund, 405 E. California St., Jacksonville, OR 97530.
He was born Feb. 13, 1914, in Gold Hill, the son of Alvah and Katherine Parker Kellogg, both of early pioneer families that arrived in Portland in 1848 by way of the Oregon Trail. His father moved to the Rogue Valley in 1887, and the family moved to Medford from Gold Hill in 1927. He graduated from Medford High School in 1932. On May 10, 1942, in Medford, he married Mary Margaret Allison, who died in 1969. On Nov. 20, 1983, in Jacksonville, he married Catherine Gribble Lynch, who survives.
Mr. Kellogg was the superintendent of mails with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1973.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Kellogg was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed stamp collecting and wood carving.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Shirley Peterson, Wayne, Pa., Day Westine, Salem, and Tacy Stanfill, Las Vegas; a son, John Lynch, Medford; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Boyce Kellogg Jr.; and two brothers.

Jeff Wilmot
The memorial service for Jeff Wilmot will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Wilmot, 33, of White City, died Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 8, 1967, in Torrance, Calif. He moved to Rogue River from California in 1987 and graduated from Rogue River High School in 1988. On July 5, 1991, in Rogue River, he married Sandra Reed, who survives.
Mr. Wilmot enjoyed spending time with his children, camping, fishing and watching sports.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Skye and Autumn Wilmot, both White City; his parents, Philip and Roseanne Wilmot, Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Tonya, in California; and his grandmother, Ann Orlando, in California.

A. Curtis Stockstill
The funeral service for A. Curtis Stockstill will be at 1 p.m. today at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford. Retired Rev. Everett Cade will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Stockstill, 94, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford.

He was born March 20, 1906, in Ematon, Kan., a son of George E. And Nellie Rose (McGuire) Stockstill. He graduated from Hugoton High School in Kansas in 1925. On Sept. 13, 1925, in Emporia, Kan., he married Joy Louise Madden, who died in 1981. They moved to Klamath Falls in 1936 from Hugoton, Kan., and to the Rogue Valley in 1952.
Mr. Stockstill owned and operated Stockstill Peach Orchard from 1952 until 1972. He was also a building contractor. He built numerous homes in Klamath Falls and Medford and remodeled homes in the Medford area.
He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and visiting family in Atlanta.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Stockstill, Ashland, and Carmen Schott, Atlanta; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Murray and Muller Stockstill.

Alma Dale
Alma Marie Dale, 94, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2001) at Rogue Valley Manor Health Center in Medford. Private inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
She was born Alma Browning in Lexington, Ky., and raised in Pacific Grove, Calif.
Mrs. Dale taught school at Macon Springs, Paynes Creek and Manton, Calif. She later lived in Michigan and Maryland.
Survivors include two nephews, Ken and Bill Dale; and two nieces, Shirley Carter and Patricia Babb, all Red Bluff, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frederick H. Dale.

Carol Jean Denny
Carol Jean Denny, 74, of Medford, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at a foster care home. No service is planned. Interment will be at Etna Community Cemetery in Etna, Calif.
She was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Yreka, Calif.
Ms. Denny was a dairy rancher in California. She moved to the Rogue Valley following her retirement.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Julia Rita Hembree
The funeral Mass for Julia Rita Hembree will be at 8:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. The Rev. Liam Carey will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Crescent City, Calif.
Mrs. Hembree, 76, of Talent, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born July 24, 1924, in San Luis, Colo., the daughter of Luis Rafel and Romoncita Vigil Trujillo.
Mrs. Hembree was a chef and cook for 10 years in Crescent City and 10 years in Medford. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from Crescent City.
In Medford, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul. In Crescent City, Calif., she was a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Joseph’s Parish. In the 1950s she was grand regent of the Catholic Daughters in Crescent City.
Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Adams Lochner, Las Vegas; a brother, Leo M. Trujillo, Denver; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Stephen S. Pastirak
The graveside service for Stephen Sebastian Pastirak will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Donald Salisbury of the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary will officiate.
Mr. Pastirak, 85, of Medford, died Jan. 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Homestead, Pa. He moved to the Rogue Valley 20 years ago from Cleveland.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Chizmar, Bradenton, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Pastirak.

Frances Ellen Phillips
The graveside service for Frances Ellen Phillips will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Medford International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips, 89, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) in Medford.
She was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Sunnyside, Wash., the daughter of Archie and Edith (Price) Watson. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1930 from Oklahoma. On June 17, 1933, in Eagle Point, she married John Phillips, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and ceramic crafts.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Davis, Medford, and Thelma Henshall, Klamath Falls. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Glen and Jack Watson.
