Blanca Rosa Munoz
Blanca Rosa Munoz, 58, of Gold Hill, died Monday (Feb. 5, 2001) at her home. A private service will be held.

She was born May 5, 1942, in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico, a daughter of Rafael and Luisa Ochoa. She married Edward Munoz, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Munoz was a bookkeeper for the Nut House in Los Angeles for 16 years, retiring in 1985. She moved to the Rogue Valley 11 years ago from Los Angeles.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her companion of 30 years, Willis S. Sherrill, Gold Hill; a son, Ruben, Los Angeles; a brother, Jorge Ochoa, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Lecha Reynosa, Leon, Mexico; and three grandchildren.

Janet Louise Modaffare
The graveside service for Janet Louise Modaffare will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 2640 Glen Ridge Road, Escondido, Calif. The Rev. Telesforo Jasso will officiate.
Mrs. Modaffare, 68, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Muskegon, Mich., a daughter of Norman and Alice Trombley. On Feb. 25, 1956, in Detroit, she married Anthony Modaffare, who died in 1968.
Mrs. Modaffare was a supervisor for Bell Telephone, retiring in 1983. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1985 from Escondido, Calif.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Escondido and the Republican Party.
Mrs. Modaffare enjoyed politics, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew, Medford, and Anthony, Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Joseph Bongiorno, Escondido, Calif.; two sisters, Vivian Waelchli, Medford, and Dolores Hartingan, Torrance, Calif.; and one grandchildren.

Susan Arline Thacker
The memorial service for Susan Arline Thacker will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Smullin Center, 2825 Barnett Road, Medford. Ted Broadway will officiate.
Ms. Thacker, 54, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born April 29, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of Elmer Clyde and Mary R. Thacker. She received a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah in 1970, and a second bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in Kansas City in 1982.
Ms. Thacker was a medical records coder for health information services at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was a member the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and the Medford Crab Enthusiasts.
Ms Thacker enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, laughing and spending time with friends and family, playing the piano and reading.
Survivors include a brother, Brian M. Thacker, Wheaton, Md.; two sisters, Maryjo Regula, Medford, and Roberta Van Goor, Sandy, Utah; and her mother, Mary R. Thacker, St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Clyde Thacker.

Edgar W. Woolfolk
The graveside service for Edgar W. Woolfolk will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Masonic Cemetery in Grants Pass. His son, Edgar Woolfolk Jr., will officiate.
Mr. Woolfolk, 87, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 15, 1913, in Portland. He graduated from Grants Pass High School and lived in the Rogue Valley all his life. On Nov. 10, 1934, in Medford, he married Blanche Vivian Monroe, who died in 1994.
Mr. Woolfolk was a West Coast lumber inspector for Cobax Mills in Grants Pass, retiring in 1968. He moved to Eagle Point from Grants Pass in 1997.
He served in the Oregon National Guard prior to World War II.
Mr. Woolfolk was a member of the First Christian Church in Grants Pass.
He enjoyed fishing and repairing home and garden machinery and tools.
Survivors include a son, Edgar W. Jr., Grants Pass; two daughters, Juanita Marie Trautman, Eagle Point, and Wanda Lee Knox, Grants Pass; a brother, Jack, in Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Carol Jean Denny
The memorial service for Carol Jean Denny will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Medford.
Ms. Denny, 74, of Medford, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at a foster care home.
The service was omitted from Tuesday’s obituary. A second obituary will run through the advertising department on Friday.
Marguerite ‘Peggy’ Bishop
The Mass of Christian Burial for Marguerite "Peggy" Bishop will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Cross Mission 126 High St., Santa Cruz, Calif. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Santa Cruz.
Mrs. Bishop, 96, of Santa Cruz, Calif., formerly of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at a convalescent hospital in Santa Cruz.

She was born and raised in Fall River, Mass. She moved to Southern California and in 1968 married George Bishop, who died in 1991. They lived in Santa Cruz for a short time before moving to Medford, and returned to Santa Cruz in 1980.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Cootiettes, a social arm of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Pasadena, Calif.
She enjoyed playing cards and knitting. She knitted lap blankets for the residents at Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital while her husband was a patient there.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Boydston, Medford; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Timothy Thrush
The memorial service for Timothy Thrush will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Westminister Presbyterian Church, Medford. The military graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thrush Cemetery on Baldwin Road in Camas Valley.
Mr. Thrush, 27, of Bandon, formerly of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) in Bandon.

Cheryl K. Waites
Cheryl K. Waites, 50, of Gold Hill, died Saturday (Jan. 27, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born Oct. 30, 1950, in Van Nuys, Calif.
Survivors include her companion, Ron Canepa, Gold Hill; her mother, Alice E. Sparks, Ventura, Calif.; her father and stepmother, Charles A. and Ruth M. Sparks, Oxnard, Calif.; two brothers, Patrick J. Sparks, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Charles A. Sparks Jr., Kialaua/Kona, Hawaii; and a sister, Judith L. Havercrost, Ventura, Calif.
