Mark Patrick McCormac
Mark Patrick McCormac, 49, of Trail, died Jan. 27, 2001, at his home. No service is planned.
He was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Big Rapids, Mich., the son of Patrick and Joan McCormac. He married Judy Coppernoll, who died in 1999. He moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago from Michigan.
Mr. McCormac was a janitor at the Eagle Point Post Office.
He enjoyed horticulture.
Survivors include a son, Maxwell, Ashland; two sisters, Patricia Norris, Melbourne, Fla., and Marcia McCormac, Santee, Calif.

Lester Allen Marsh Sr.
Lester Allen Marsh Sr., 84, of Everett, Wash., formerly of Medford, died Feb. 1, 2001, in Everett. The memorial service was held Feb. 6 at the chapel of Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills in Lynnwod, Wash. Rev. Norman Overland officiated.

He was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Alva, Okla., a son of Peter and Nettie Marsh. On June 13, 1937, in Wenatchee, Wash., he married Bernis Lillian Thorp, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1959 and lived in the area for 10 years.
Mr. Marsh worked in civil service with the Army Reserves in Medford.
He was active in the church and supported missions. He and his wife served two years as volunteers with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua, New Guinea.
Mr. Marsh enjoyed family times of music and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, L. Allen Jr., and Alger; three daughters, Joyce Marie Crisman, Merrie Smith, and Kathleen LaBay; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister; and a grandson.

Evelyn M. Richardson
The funeral service for Evelyn Marcum Richardson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa, Idaho. Rev. Arthur Hauge will officiate. Interment will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.
Mrs. Richardson, 91, of Grants Pass, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at her home.

She was born Aug. 8, 1909, in Meridian, Idaho, a daughter of Charlie and May Marcum. On Aug. 25, 1929, in Ashland, she married James "J.W." Richardson, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Richardson retired from J.C. Penney in Nampa, Idaho, in 1965.
She was a member of Redwood Country Church.
Mrs. Richardson enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Mae Nelson, Grants Pass, Bethel Joanne Dick, Boise, Idaho, and Cheryl Kay Witenberger, Salem; three sons, William Lloyd, McMinnville, Walter Glen, Marysville, Wash., and Victor Boyd, Lynnwood, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly June Baxter; 13 siblings; and a granddaughter.

Elizabeth Frances Scott
The funeral service for Elizabeth Frances Scott will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Jim Larsen and Bob Friend of the Christian Church will officiate. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Willamette Memorial Park, Albany.
Mrs. Scott, 85, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Feb. 6, 2001) at Skylark Assisted Living, Ashland.

She was born May 28, 1915, in Leon, Iowa, a daughter of Harley and Julia Mae Fitch. She was raised and finished her schooling in Leon. On Jan. 31, 1934, in Davis City, Iowa, she married George Robert Scott, who died in 1994. They moved to Oregon in 1948 and settled in the Willamette Valley.
The Scotts moved to Texas in 1966, where Mrs. Scott helped with her husband’s construction business. They returned to Oregon in 1977 and lived in Christmas Valley until moving to Ashland in 1988. Beginning in 1980, the Scotts wintered in Yuma, Ariz.
In Albany, Mrs. Scott was active in the Grange, her children’s schools and church. In Texas, she was a member of the Lutheran Church. In Ashland, she was a member of the Christian Church of Ashland.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Harshman, Ashland; two sisters, Cameon Tullis and Mildred Brady, both Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three infant children; and a son, Robert G. Scott.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
Rev. Napoleon Graham
The memorial service for Rev. Napoleon Bonaparte Graham will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Medford Southwest Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Don C. Farnsworth will officiate. A second memorial service will be held later at the Bakersfield First Church of the Nazarene in Bakersfield, Calif. Inurnment will be in South Greenlawn Cemetery in Bakersfield.
Rev. Graham, 90, of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 6, 2001) at Hearthstone.

He was born Dec. 12, 1910, in Sikeston, Mo., a son of Arthur and Ethel Graham. On April 14, 1934, he married Helen Emma Hall, who died in 1991.
Rev. Graham served as senior pastor at eight Nazarene Churches and as associate pastor at one Nazarene Church. He founded two of the churches. He lived in Bakersfield, Calif., for many years, and moved to the Rogue Valley from Whittier, Calif., in 1995.
Since 1969, he had raised three of his grandchildren.
Rev. Graham was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Lee, Flagstaff, Ariz.; a daughter, Darlene Sue Graham, Salem; three half-brothers, Martin C. Krueger and Paul Krueger, both in Missouri, and Robert Krueger, in Georgia; a half-sister, Lucille Jackson, in Mississippi; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Anne Graham; a brother, John Lafayette Graham; and a sister, Ollie O’Neal Graham.

Timothy J. Thrush
The memorial service for Sgt. Timothy J. Thrush will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Medford. The graveside service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Thrush Family Cemetery in Camas Valley. An additional memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Denbigh Presbyterian Church in Newport News, Va.
Mr. Thrush, 27, of Bandon, formerly of Jacksonville, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at the home of his parents, Bob and Connie Thrush of Bandon, where he had been under hospice and family care since Dec. 16. He was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor in July and received radiation therapy at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia.

He was born March 8, 1973, in Medford and grew up in Jacksonville. He attended Medford public schools through his junior year and graduated from Bandon High School in 1991, where he excelled in football.
Mr. Thrush worked on a commercial fishing boat on the Oregon Coast for two summers. He joined the U.S. Army in 1992, and chose the specialty of watercraft operator. He graduated first in his class from AIT School. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the third highest award presented in peacetime. For most of his career, he was assigned to an LSV, a 274-foot supply ship.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville until joining the Denbigh Presbyterian Church in Newport News, Va.
Mr. Thrush enjoyed skiing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Troy Paulsen; his maternal grandparents, Don and Irene Paulsen, Medford and his paternal grandmother, Elaine Watson, Roseburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Todd Robert Thrush.

Barbara Lee Nygren
The funeral service for Barbara Lee Nygren will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mrs. Nygren, 56, of Medford, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at Hearthstone.

She was born May 3, 1944, in Medford, a daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Smith) Barnum. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Rogue Community College. In 1981, in Medford, she married Ben Nygren, who survives.
Mrs. Nygren worked in the cost accounting department at Harry and David for more than 25 years.
She was a former member and Woman of the Year of Zonta, a women’s entrepreneurial organization that raises money for public service organizations.
Mrs. Nygren enjoyed going to auto races, spending time with her family, baking cakes and living life to the fullest.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Blain, Portland; two daughters, Tonya Nygren, Medford, and Tawnya Mathern, Atlanta; two sisters, Terry Barnum, Shady Cove, and Patricia Spielbusch, Phoenix; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Barnum; a son, Timothy Bertak; and one granddaughter.
Friends may pay their respects from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel, Medford.
