Rae Hazel Bell
Rae Hazel Bell, 74, of White City, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born June 24, 1926, in Franklin, N.H., a daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Gilbert) Bosworth. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946. On July 27, 1962, in Jackson County, she married John Bell, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Bell was a lab technician for 54 years.
She enjoyed archery, fishing and working.
Survivors include a son, John, Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Raymond Bosworth, San Antonio, Texas; and a sister, Arleen Jackson, White City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Papvenuk.

Wesley J. Perkins
The memorial service for Wesley J. Perkins will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Eagle Point Grange, 5 S. Shasta, Eagle Point. The grange chaplain will officiate.
Mr. Perkins, 92, of Eagle Point, died Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) at his home.

He was born March 13, 1908, in Fairmont, Neb., a son of Charles and Addie Perkins. On June 4, 1927, in Kansas, he married Elsie E. Gould, who died in November 2000. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from California.
Mr. Perkins worked as a school custodian in California and as an inspector for the Fruehauf Trailer Co. in California. He was a farmer for most of his life.
He was active in the Eagle Point, Ashland and Jackson County Pomona granges.
Mr. Perkins enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include a son, Charles A., Moro; a daughter, Donna J. Cull, Eagle Point; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Herbert W. Combs
The funeral service for Herbert W. Combs will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Vernon Mortuary in Fair Oaks, Calif.
Mr. Combs, 70, of Roseville, Calif., formerly of Talent, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2001) in Roseville.
He was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Talent.
Mr. Combs worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 38 years.
He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
Survivors include four daughters, Glenda, Cathy, Bonnie and Betty; two brothers; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, Calif.
Mary Ironette Bradford
The graveside service for Mary Ironette Bradford will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Mrs. Bradford, 93, of Grants Pass, died Feb. 18, 2001, at Royale Gardens Health Care Facility.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
She was born Oct. 14, 1907, in Palmyra, Va. On May 26, 1927, in Charlottesville, Va., she married Jim R. Bradford, who died in 1975. She moved to Grants Pass from San Pedro, Calif., in June 2000, to be near her daughter.
Mrs. Bradford was a 72-year member of the First Baptist Church in San Pedro, Calif., where she served as deaconess, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Fleet Reserve Association No. 11, Hi Neighbors Senior group, Ocean Queen Rebekah Lodge, the 30 Year Club and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, flower gardening, reading and her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Chapman, Grants Pass; a son, Jim, Paso Robles, Calif.; a sister, Adelle Terrell, Mechanicsville, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William; and a daughter, Virginia Jensen.

Corrine Velde Ettinger
Corrine Ellen Velde Ettinger, 77, of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at her home. A private service was held.

She was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Granite Falls, Minn. On April 8, 1950, in Bakersfield, Calif., she married Wilson Ettinger, who survives.
Mrs. Ettinger was an elementary school teacher in Minnesota, California, Hillsboro and Ashland. She lived in the Rogue Valley for 30 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Tracy Bay, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Tina Lyons, La Pine; a son, Matthew, San Francisco; a brother, La Grant Velde, Granite Falls, Minn.; two sisters, Doris Hanson and Lucille Velde, both Granite Falls, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

Ronald L. Palmerton
The memorial service for Ronald L. Palmerton will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Private inurnment will be in Missouri Flats Cemetery.
Mr. Palmerton, 66, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Reno, Nev., a son of Lloyd and Eunice (Miller) Palmerton. He moved to the Rogue Valley from California when he was a junior in high school. In 1957, in Applegate, he married Gwen Krouse, who survives.
Mr. Palmerton began his career with the Oregon State Police in the Grants Pass office, where he worked for one year. He then worked in the Medford office for 24 years, retiring with the rank of sergeant.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Mr. Palmerton was a member of the Oregon State Police Retirees, the Cascade Team Penning Association (CTPA) and the U.S. Team Penning Association.
He enjoyed golf and cow penning.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Michael, Eagle Point, and Curtis, Klamath Falls; a daughter, Krisa Spiesschaert, Eagle Point; and six grandchildren.

Marvin Edgar Long
The funeral for Marvin Edgar Long will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. The graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford. Pastor Lenny Meyers of the North Valley Christian Center in White City will officiate.
Mr. Long, 79, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born May 19, 1921, in Lockney, Texas, a son of William and Lou (Bragg) Long. On July 3, 1946, in Colorado, he married Crystal June, who died in 1994. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1957 from Glendale, Ariz.
Mr. Long was a ditch rider for the Eagle Point Irrigation District for more than 20 years. When he was younger, he worked in "B" westerns, where he took pack trips into the Superstition Mountains to work on movies. He also rode the rodeo circuit.
He was a member of the Universal Studios Actors Guild and the Teamsters of Arizona.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Conrad, White City, and Marvin and James Long, both Eagle Point; two daughters, Janet Benne, Eagle Point, and Kathy Robinson, Central Point; a brother, Frank Long, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
