Darrell W. Rolls
The funeral service for Darrell W. Rolls will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel. Father Liam Carey, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Rolls, 80, of Seal Beach, Calif., formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2001) in Los Alamitos, Calif.
He was born April 2, 1920, in Hood River, a son of James and Dolia (Painter) Rolls, and moved to the Rogue Valley as a child.
Mr. Rolls worked for Mayflower Moving and Storage Co. in Medford for 40 years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the liberation forces for the Philippines. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Rolls, Seal Beach; a son, Roy Norcross; five daughters, Mary Annette Cote, Effie Lorraine Neimoyer, Mary McDonald, Nancy Mitchell, and Jane Desota; two sisters, Barbara Hall and Betty Garrilli; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James.
Friends may pay their respects at 10 a.m. Friday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel, Medford.
Alice L.B. Grimes
The memorial service for Alice Laverne Bailey Grimes will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Victory Christian Center in Medford. Pastor Bob Longan will officiate.

Mrs. Grimes, 78, of Central Point, died Thursday (Feb. 15, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Klamath Falls, a daughter of Clarence Warren and Lottie Corolyn (Allen) Bailey.
On July 12, 1942, in Medford, she married Elmo D. Grimes, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Grimes lived in the Rogue Valley for 60 years, moving from Lakeview.
She worked for the Big Y in Medford, where she met her husband. It was her first job.
Mrs. Grimes enjoyed camping, gardening, arts and crafts and spending time with her family. She also was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include a son, Dowen Grimes, Medford; three daughters, Sandra Ryerson, Phoenix, Lynda Calkins, Eugene, and Nadine Hall, Central Point; a brother, Ralph Bailey, Lodi, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, a sister and a grandson.

Robert William Johnson
Robert William Johnson, 75, of Camas Valley, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at Ashland Community Hospital. At his request, no service will be held.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 21, 1925. He has lived in the Rogue Valley since 1991, when he moved to the area from Ocean City, Wash.
Mr. Johnson was married to Geraldine Bulthuis, who preceded him in death in November 2000.
He enjoyed traveling in his recreational vehicle, horses, his dog and the beach.
Survivors include three stepchildren, John Shults, Ashland, Betty Chesnut, Phoenix, Bonnie Seargent, Camas Valley; one sister, Sherry Cox, in Washington; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Clifford C. Sullivan
The funeral for Clifford Christopher Sullivan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Sullivan, 93, of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at Hearthstone.
He was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Callahan, Calif., a son of Charles and Clara Sullivan. The family moved to Central Point when he was an infant. On Aug. 31, 1929, in Medford, he married Beatrice Sarah Johnston, who survives.
Mr. Sullivan owned and operated a road construction business in Medford. He then owned the California on the Rogue Motel in Trail and a rock and shell shop in Florence.
He enjoyed rock collecting, cutting, polishing and displaying his rock collection, and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Arlen, Medford; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

William B. Henderson Jr.
William Butler Henderson Jr., 61, of Castro Valley, Calif., formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Feb. 12, 2001, at his home in Castro Valley. The memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Hayward, Calif.

He was born June 18, 1939, in Merced, Calif., and lived in the Rogue Valley from shortly after his birth until 1980. He graduated from Medford Senior High School. After graduating, he was commissioned to create a school mascot and designed and painted the original "Black Tornado" mascot. In 1958, he married Martha Conley, who preceded him in death. He later married Barbara Graber, who survives.
Mr. Henderson was art director and producer for KMED Channel 10. In 1980, he moved to the Bay area and settled in Castro Valley.
In 2000, Southern Oregon University and his son, Daniel, presented Henderson with a living memorial. The plaque is on display at the entrance to the Visual Arts Center at SOU.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Daniel; a daughter, Makayla (McPeg) Torres; his mother, Irma L. Henderson; three stepdaughters, Lori Morgan, Lisa Barham and Linda Messa; one grandchild; and three stepgrandchildren.

Louis Werth Jr.
Louis Werth Jr., 81, of Ashland, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at Ashland Community Hospital. No service is planned.
He was born March 6, 1919, in Ashland. On Oct. 11, 1943, in San Francisco, he married Rose A. Gurriere, who survives.
Mr. Werth worked with the U.S. government for more than 40 years, retiring in 1977. He returned to Ashland following his retirement.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sisters, Beatrice Zimmermann, and Bernice Holman, both Ashland.

Anne Whitaker
The funeral for Anne Whitaker will be at 2 p.m. today at St. George Episcopal Church in Roseburg.
Mrs. Whitaker, 92, of Medford, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at her home.

She was born May 12, 1908, in Wheaton, Ill., a daughter of Carl and Frances O’Neil. She received a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Illinois in 1930. She married Harris Whitaker, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Whitaker was a school teacher at Green Elementary School in Roseburg, retiring in 1973.
Survivors include a son, Charles; a daughter, Nancy Metcalf; a sister, Marion Dalton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Linda Rose Reichelt
The memorial service for Linda Rose Reichelt will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lundberg’s L.B. Hall Funeral Home, Grants Pass. Pastor Walt Ferris will officiate.
Mrs. Reichelt, 80, of Grants Pass, died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus, Grants Pass.

She was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Avella, Pa., a daughter of Paul and Rose Bardella. She was educated in Avella and attended American University of Washington, D.C. On Oct. 22, 1951, in Long Beach, Calif., she married Eric Reichelt, who preceded her in death. They moved to Grants Pass in 1969.
Mrs. Reichelt worked for the Navy department in Washington, D.C., for three years; in Charleston, S.C., for two years; and in Long Beach, Calif., for seven years. She also worked for Josephine County School District for 12 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of the River Valley Community Church in Grants Pass, the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 26, of Grants Pass, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Friends of the Library.
Mrs. Reichelt enjoyed working with children as a 4-H leader in sewing in California. She also taught Sunday school for a number of years in California.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and art.
Survivors include a son, Bruce, Aloha; a daughter, Tamara Reichelt, Grants Pass; a brother, William Bardella, Avella, Pa.; three sisters, Neva Stinedurf, Grove City, Pa., Evelyn Bensick, Point St. Lucia, Fla., and Jane Caldwell, Cleveland; and three grandchildren.
