Jeanne Lois Sakraida
The funeral Mass for Jeanne Lois Sakraida will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford.
Mrs. Sakraida, 82, of Medford, died Friday (April 13, 2001) at a foster care home.

She was born Jeanne Ran Court on May 11, 1918, in Bisbee, Ariz. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1929 from California. On Feb. 6, 1936, in Medford, she married Richard Sakraida, who died in 1975.
Mrs. Sakraida worked at Bear Creek Corp.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mrs. Sakraida enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon L. Sakraida, Medford, and Marilyn J. Austin, Phoenix; a son, Tom, Medford; and six grandchildren.

Lillian LaVerne Wilmoth
The funeral service for Lillian LaVerne Wilmoth will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Stan Johnson of the West Main Church of Christ will officiate.
Mrs. Wilmoth, 96, of Medford, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Three Fountains, Waterford Enhanced Care Unit.

She was born Dec. 3, 1904, in Princeton, Texas. On May 24, 1923, in Sayre, Okla., she married George Wilmoth, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wilmoth was a fruit inspector at DiGiorgio Fruit Corp. in Delano, Calif., for many years. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Monrovia, Calif.
She was a member of the West Main Church of Christ and was a lifelong member of her church in California.
Mrs. Wilmoth enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading the Bible.
Survivors include a son, Earl, Medford; two brothers, Troy Turner, Applegate, and Ira Turner, Crescent City, Calif.; two sisters, Reba Campbell, Bakersfield, Calif., and Eula Bushnell, Sequim, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son; a daughter; three sisters; and a brother.

Kathyren Letitia Dixon
The memorial service for Kathyren Letitia Dixon will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Craig Rench and Kevin Gowland will officiate.
Miss Dixon, 97, of Medford, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born April 19, 1903, in Grants Pass, a daughter of Harley Clarkson and Nellie Hampton Dixon. She received nurse’s training at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, followed by two years at Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1930. On her way to the mission field in 1936, she spent a year at the Glasgow Royal Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Scotland to secure her midwifery certificate.
Miss Dixon served as a missionary nurse for the Church of the Nazarene in Swaziland and South Africa for 35 years. She spent her first 10 years of service in Swaziland, where she was in charge of an out-station clinic. After a furlough in 1947, she was sent to the Northern Transvaal in South Africa to open medical work in a primitive area. During her years there, she built up a small hospital on the mission station.
She retired in 1971 and lived with a sister in Grants Pass. They moved to Nampa, Idaho, for a while, returning to Medford in 1989.
Miss Dixon was active in the Church of the Nazarene most of her life.
She enjoyed birds and reading.
Survivors include a brother, Herbert Dixon. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

LaWanna Idoma Barnes
LaWanna Idoma Barnes, 71, of Medford, died Friday (April 13, 2001) at Hearthstone in Medford. The graveside service will be held later at North Kern Cemetery in Delano, Calif.

She was born July 10, 1929, in Asher, Okla., a daughter of Marion F. And Bernice (Keylon) Johnson. She lived in Chico, Calif., from 1984 to 1999 and moved to the Rogue Valley in 2000 from Blackfoot, Idaho.
She enjoyed collecting dolls, bingo and reading.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis, Medford, and Claude, Blackfoot, Idaho; three daughters, Susan Peterson, San Jose, Calif., Claudia Taylor, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Louann Wright, Leader, Texas; two brothers, Carroll and Harold Johnson, both San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Dione Brogden, Lockeford, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanell Hamlet.

Loren Orville Long
The memorial service for Loren Orville Long will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ashland. The Rev. Anne Bartlett will officiate. Private interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Long, 82, of Ashland, died Saturday (April 14, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born June 25, 1918, in Maysville, Mo., the son of Oren Ellsworth and Nora Bell (Cook) Long. On July 27, 1965, he married Shirley Grover Long, who survives. He had lived in Ashland since 1950.
Mr. Long was a clerk for Southern Pacific Railroad for 37 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Long was a member of the Ashland Elks 944, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Trinity Episcopal Church and the Oak Knoll Golf Club.
He enjoyed golf, fishing and driving cars.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six daughters, Sharon Denzer and Sheila Gleim, both Ashland, Joyce Long Daly, Pendleton, Barbara Long Williams, Oakridge, and Sylvia Bieniek Kuwait and Sue Roderick Reynolds, both Sausalito, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons; and two sisters.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Chapel, Ashland.
Robert 'Bob' Charles
A celebration of the life of Robert "Bob" Charles will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Sweet Acres in Medford.
Mr. Charles, 70, of Ruch, died Sunday (April 15, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Mr. Charles, a former school photographer, was well-known throughout Southern Oregon.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing in Mexico, traveling, hosting neighborhood duck races and attending the activities of his many grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, Ruch; two daughters, Julie York, Grants Pass, and Debbie Charles, Tacoma, Wash.; a son, Brad, Tacoma, Wash.; five stepchildren, Sam Boyle, Patty Williams, Joe Lininger, Stephanie Viaene and Tina Oakley; and 12 grandchildren.

Harry C. Adams
The memorial service for Harry C. Adams will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Medford First Baptist Church.
Mr. Adams, 79, of Medford, died Monday (April 16, 2001) at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1921, in New York City. He graduated from Arnold College in Connecticut. On April 11, 1961, in Chicago, he married Alleen Ritter, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1979 from Paramount, Calif.
Mr. Adams worked in sales.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Medford First Baptist Church. He was president of his Sunday school class.
He was known for his sense of humor, and enjoyed fishing and attending church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Sharon Alexy, New York; two stepdaughters, Sharon Lakatos, Medford, and Nancy Brassell, Buena Park, Calif.; three sons, Larry, in Colorado, Gary in New Hampshire, and Harry Jr., in Connecticut; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters.
