Lillian Mary Baker
The memorial service for Lillian Mary Baker will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phoenix Presbyterian Church. The graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker, 93, of Ashland, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at her home.

She was born Lillian Lowry on April 25, 1908, in Lake Arthur, N.M. In 1929, in Oklahoma City, she married Lyle Henry Bohrer, who died in 1976. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1955 from Canada, and received a teaching degree from Southern Oregon University. In 1980, in Ashland, she married William O. Baker, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Baker was a teacher at Jackson Elementary School and Howard Elementary School.
She was a member of the Phoenix Presbyterian Church and the Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Baker enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Ouida Barnum, Ashland; a son, Robert L. Bohrer, Portland; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Patricia Parrish Kendle
Patricia Parrish Kendle, 76, of Medford, died Monday (April 30, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Albany, the daughter of Jesse and Josephine Parrish. On April 18, 1948, in Reno, Nev., she married John Kendle, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1955 from Scio.
Mrs. Kendle was the office manager for Kendle Trucking in Medford, retiring in 1980.
She enjoyed china painting.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jeffery, Medford, and James, Talent; and two grandchildren.

Kent Stuart Anderson Jr.
Kent Stuart Anderson Jr., 50, of Reno, Nev., formerly of Medford, died April 20, 2001, in Reno. A celebration of life will be announced later.
He was born May 17, 1950, in Medford, the son of Kent S. and Cecil C. Anderson. He moved to Reno in 1987.
Mr. Anderson was a floor and counter installer.
He was a veteran, and served in Korea.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Cindy (Hagen) Anderson, Reno; two sons, Todd, Central Point, and Jeff, Reno; a sister, Paula Prosser, Talent; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jane Anderson
The funeral service for Jane Anderson will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home in Grants Pass. Pastor Marvin Clark, of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Roy Masters will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Grants Pass.
Mrs. Anderson, 80, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at her home.

She was born June 10, 1920, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., the daughter of Henry and Adella Anderson. She graduated from Wedgewood High School, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master's degree from Boston University. On May 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh, she married Henry Anderson, who preceded her in death. They moved to Grants Pass in 1982 from Livingston, Mont.
Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Boone and Susan Anderson, both Grants Pass; a son, David, Chicago; a brother, Henry Anderson Jr., Brewster, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

William 'Bill' E. Baker
William "Bill" E. Baker, 79, of Medford, died Friday (May 4, 2001) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Greybull, Wyo., the son of Clarence and Margaret (O'Neil) Baker. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash. On April 18, 1947, he married Arlene Schierman, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1961 from Tacoma, Wash.
Mr. Baker was a restaurant manager in Tacoma. He also managed and was part-owner of Stanley's Restaurant in Medford, and owned the Courtyard restaurant.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Baker enjoyed race horses and trips to Reno, Nev.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Janet Price, Medford, and Charlene Krause, Central Point; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marguerite Sarah Coulter
The graveside service for Marguerite Sarah Coulter will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. Her son-in-law, Willie Bell, will officiate.
Mrs. Coulter, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born July 29, 1913, in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Harold and Delphia Ruland. She married Lawrence Alvin Coulter, who died in 1999.
Mrs. Coulter enjoyed camping, outings with her family and bowling. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.
Survivors include three sons, Samuel Norman, Kenneth A., and Terry W., all Medford; four daughters, Margie Roberta Lavilatta, Redding, Calif., Nola Caroline Bell, Port Townsend, Wash., Myrtle Joanne "Pete" Strader, Key Center, Wash., and Jeanette Sarah Lampshire, Poulsbo, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother.

Vera A. Christensen
The memorial service for Vera A. Christensen will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford. Pastor Alan Jackson will officiate.
Mrs. Christinsen, 88, of Medford, died Friday (May 4, 2001) at her home.

Lee Merriman
The memorial service for Lee Merriman will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland. The Rev. Scott Dalgarno will officiate. Private interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mr. Merriman, 86, of Ashland, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at his home.

He was a descendant of an early Rogue Valley pioneer family. His great grandfather, William H. Merriman came West with the Isaac Constant wagon train in 1853, and settled near Central Point.
Mr. Merriman was born March 4, 1915, on a small ranch on Trail Creek, a son of William and Alma L. (Martin) Merriman. His family moved to Clarks Fork, Wyo., in 1921, returning to the Rogue Valley in 1923. While growing up, he lived in Trail, Union Creek, Prospect and Butte Falls, graduating from Butte Falls High School in 1932. From 1933 to 1937, he held various jobs in Oregon and California, including logger, mill worker, ranch hand, dairyman, painter, miner and machinist. In 1937, he began work as a fire lookout at Burnt Peak Lookout, a job he held during summers while attending Southern Oregon Normal School (now Southern Oregon University). On June 4, 1940, in Ashland, on the same day he graduated from Southern Oregon Normal School, he married Esther Carter, who survives.
Mr. Merriman began teaching in 1940 at Prospect Elementary School. In 1948, he was hired as principal of Elk Trail School. He received his master's degree from the University of Oregon in 1955, and in 1956 was hired as principal of Lone Pine School in Medford, where he worked until retiring in 1975.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Merriman was a Boy Scout leader, 4-H leader, and Hunter Safety Education leader. He was a member of the Cascade Masonic Lodge No. 208, Phi Delta Kappa, was a life member of the National Education Association and Parents Teachers Association, Bellview Grange and the First Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing cross-country skiing and traveling, and had traveled to New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, England and Scotland.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Lynn C. and Dan H., both Ashland, and Vance H., Bend; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Guy.
