Edward H. Farquhar

The graveside service for Edward H. Farquhar will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Farquhar, 69, of Medford, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church, 608 N. Bartlett St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Monson, Mass. He attended Pennsylvania State University for four years. On Dec. 28, 1954, in Kilmarnock, Scotland, he married Janet Stalker, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1971 from Des Moines, Iowa.

Mr. Farquhar was an administrator in the U.S. Air Force, a manager in the Ashland Bi-Mart sporting goods department for five years, and owned and operated Ed's Sports Center for 11 years.

He was a member of the Ashland Elks, the Medford Moose Lodge, NCOA, AFSA and volunteered for the Medford Senior Center.

Mr. Farquhar was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Michelle Richards, Medford; two sons, Ronald, Medford, and Rodney, Eagle Point; a brother, Leonard, Monson, Mass.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Farquhar.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

Joe Williamson

The funeral for Joe Williamson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Central Point Community Bible Church.

Mr. Williamson, 28, of Central Point, died Monday (May 7, 2001) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson County D.A.R.E. Program, 787 W. Eighth St., Medford, OR 97501.

He was born Aug. 15, 1972, in Buena Park, Calif. He moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1979, and graduated from North Medford High School in 1990.

Mr. Williamson was a supervisor at Bear Creek Corp.

He enjoyed tattoo art, playing paint ball and BMX racing.

Survivors include his parents, Joe and Nancy Killingsworth, Aumsville; three sisters, Alisha Bjarnson, Central Point, Jennifer Herford, Corvallis, and Heidi Bourassa, Aumsville; three brothers, Bryan, Greg and Iain Killingsworth, all of Medford; and his grandparents, Yvonne Fincher, Aumsville; Charles Hatfield, in Nevada, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Williamson, in Florida.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.

George Anderson Eason

The memorial service for George Anderson Eason will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at St. Vincent de Paul in Medford.

Mr. Eason, 62, of Medford, died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Gibtown, Texas, the son of Bentley and Vargie Eason. He moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Riverside, Calif.

Mr. Eason spent time and made many friends at St. Vincent de Paul.

He enjoyed beer, pool and fighting.

Survivors include three sons, Robert, Medford, Jerry, Frankfort, Ind., and Raymond, Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Tammy Trepp, Riverside, Calif., Catherine Farr, Kokomo, Ind., and Cheri Eason, Hemet, Calif.; two sisters, Salma Cox, Moreno Valley, Calif., and Verna Souza, Hemet, Calif.; and 27 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Monroe and Vern.

Arrangements: Neptune Society of Southern Oregon.

Willetta C. Sims

Willetta C. Sims, 97, of Medford, died Saturday (May 5, 2001) at her home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 10051, Portland, OR 97296-0051.

She was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Beaumont, Texas, a daughter of W.L. and Augusta (Nauyok) McClure. On April 5, 1924, in La Grande, she married Alva E. Sims, who died in 1995. They lived in Eugene for seven years before moving to San Jose, Calif., where they lived for 17 years. They moved to Medford in 1947.

Mrs. Sims was a homemaker.

She was a lifelong member of the Roxy Ann Grange and received a 50-year membership award.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Sims, and a sister, Melba Kelly.

Joseph Deutsch

Joseph Deutsch, 81, of Medford, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born June 20, 1919, in Joliet, Ill. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 1941 and a master's degree from the University of North Carolina in 1943. On Jan. 30, 1976, in Santa Cruz, Calif., he married Jeannine Steinman, who survives.

Mr. Deutsch was a certified public accountant in California and a professor of business administration at Pierce College in Los Angeles. He was co-founder of Children's Speech and Hearing in Van Nuys, Calif., and manager of Children's Speech and Hearing in Los Angeles.

He was a rock hound and enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Richard, Davenport, Calif.; a stepson, David Steinman, Henderson, Nev.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Henry Gene Cluck

The memorial service for Henry Gene Cluck will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Heaven Bound Church in White City. Pastor John Tiffe will officiate.

Mr. Cluck, 71, of Central Point, died Saturday (May 5, 2001) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, Or 97501.

He was born March 15, 1930, in Ada, Okla., the son of Joseph and Mollie Cluck. On April 24, 1954, in Springfield, he married Jean R. Phillips, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1962 from Redmond, Wash.

Mr. Cluck was an asphalt plant operator for 45 years. He worked at LTM for 32 years, retiring in 1993.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1949.

Mr. Cluck was a member of Heaven Bound Church and Local Union No. 701.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and welding.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, John T., Tallahassee, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael J.; and a sister, Jo Ella Young.

Leola Joyce Conner

Family and friends of Leola Joyce Conner will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Talent Friends Church.

Mrs. Conner, 71, of Talent, died Friday (May 4, 2001) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Talent Friends Church, 50 Talent Ave., Talent, OR 97540.

She was born March 15, 1930, in Reseda, Calif., the daughter of William and Elizabeth Lindstrom. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1937. On April 23, 1950, in Talent, she married Ralph "Jiggs" Conner, who died in 1991.

The Conners owned and operated the Chevron station in Talent.

She was a member of the Talent Friends Church.

Mrs. Conner enjoyed church activities and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Conner, Talent; three sons, Gordon Conner, Ashland, Dean Hall, Central Point, and Rudy Conner, Pueblo, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.
