Beneva Jane McKinley
Beneva Jane McKinley, 65, of Phoenix, died Wednesday (May 9, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service will be held later.
She was born April 12, 1936, in Gannett, Idaho, the daughter of Leonard and Eva (Hunt) Lilya. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1948 from Shoshone, Idaho, and graduated from Eagle Point High School in 1955. On July 28, 1956, in Stevenson, Wash., she married George Richard McKinley, who died in 1993.
Mrs. McKinley was a homemaker, artist, poet and lay minister.
She was a past president of the Southern Oregon Society of Artists and was a member of Christ Unity Church, Medford.
Mrs. McKinley enjoyed art and music.
Survivors include two sons, Richard, Medford, and Jeffery, Salem; a daughter, Dixie Harder, Woodland, Wash.; and a brother, Leonard Lilya, Shady Cove. She was preceded in death by a brother, Otto Lilya.

Henry 'Dick' R. Holsinger
The graveside service for Henry "Dick" Richard Holsinger will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Garland Shinn will officiate.
Mr. Holsinger, 81, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Fairview Transitional Health Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Fillmore, Calif., In 1938, he graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento, Calif., and went on to Biola College in Los Angeles, graduating in 1942. On Oct. 5, 1943, in Oak View, Calif., he married Jessie Wood, who survives. In 1955 he was ordained a minister in Carmichael, Calif. He and his family moved to Oregon in 1957 from Sacramento, Calif., and lived in Wimer from 1957 to 1963.
Mr. Holsinger was a pastor in Wimer. He also worked as a plumber in residential construction.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 75th Army Postal Unit in the Philippines during World War II.
Mr. Holsinger was a member of the Golden Eagles Kiwanis and River Valley Community Church. He also delivered Meals on Wheels.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Jessie Converse, Wolf Creek, and Jennie Potter, Eugene; a son, Robert, Bend; a brother, Sam, Carmichael, Calif.; a sister, Patricia Philbin, Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Harriet Isabel Davis
The funeral for Harriet Isabel Davis will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford. Pastor Dave Humphreys of the Phoenix Church of Christ will officiate.
Mrs. Davis, 89, of Phoenix, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) in Phoenix.

She was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Ashland, the daughter of Guy Charles and Grace Lee (Owings) Prescott. On Sept. 14, 1931, in Ashland, she married Elija Earl Davis, who died in 1983.
Mrs. Davis worked for Associated Fruit as a sorter in the packing plant. She also worked as a housekeeper.
She was a member of the Phoenix Church of Christ.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed fishing, gardening, knitting and music.
Survivors include a son, Guy C., Medford. She was preceded in death by an infant son.

Mildred Marie Brown
The graveside service for Mildred Marie Brown will be at 2 p.m. today at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass. Pastor Wes Winn of the First Christian Church in Grants Pass will officiate.
Ms. Brown, 80, of Rogue River, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Laurel Hill Nursing Center in Grants Pass.
She was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Azusa, Calif. She moved to Southern Oregon 20 years ago from Long Beach, Calif., to be close to her son and daughter-in-law. Her daughter, Sharon, moved up a few years later.
While living in Long Beach, Ms. Brown was an avid golfer and was a member of the Candlewood Country Club in Whittier, Calif., for many years.
She could grow anything and spent many hours in her yard. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and flowers.
Survivors include a son, Dennis, Rogue River; a daughter, Sharon Chadwick, Grants Pass; two brothers, David Moody, Rogue River, and Faye Moody, Hesperia, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Harvey H. Mains Sr.
A celebration of the life of Harvey H. Mains Sr., and his wife, Alice, will be at noon Saturday at Rogue River Valley Grange in Grants Pass.
Mr. Mains, 80, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at his home. His wife, Alice Mains, died Feb. 18, 2001.

He was born June 5, 1920, in The Dalles. On July 16, 1939, in Carson City, Nev., he married Alice Loescher. They moved to Grants Pass in 1976 from Livermore, Calif.
Mr. Mains was an electrical engineer for the Lockheed Aircraft Company in California until his retirement in 1976.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Mains was a member and Past Master of the Rogue River Valley Grange. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed helping others and working in his garden.
Survivors include two sons, Richard, Grants Pass, and Harvey H. Jr., Redding, Conn.; and six great-grandchildren.

Douglas Michael Weber
Douglas Michael Weber, 49, of Medford, died Thursday (May 3, 2001) at his home. A private service will be held later.
He was born Jan. 4, 1952, in Long Beach, Calif. On Dec. 15, 1991, in Reno, Nev., he married Janice D. Stepp, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from Grants Pass.
Mr. Weber enjoyed the outdoors, movies, target shooting and telling jokes.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Beverly Weber, Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Andrews, Grants Pass; a sister, Patty Denny, Rossmoor, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Joseph J. Walker
Joseph J. Walker, 86, of Grants Pass, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Hanford, Calif. On Nov. 7, 1998, in Grants Pass, he married Rosemary Tevlin, who survives.
Mr. Walker worked as a self-employed machinist and tool and dye maker, retiring in 1985. He moved to Grants Pass in 1994 from Cool, Calif.
He was a member of the Elks Grants Pass Lodge No. 1584.
Mr. Walker enjoyed traveling, dancing and bowling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Joel, Cayucos, Calif.; two daughters, Jacquie Engle, Encinitas, Calif., and Jill Stephenson, Grass Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Grace A. Wayne
The graveside service for Grace A. Wayne will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. Chaplain Don Hildebrand of Rogue Valley Manor will officiate.
Mrs. Wayne, 85, of Central Point, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Alderwood Assisted Living Facility.

She was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Virginia, Neb., a son of Isac and Margaret (Miller) Fitzwater. In 1934, in Wymore, Neb., she married Cecil Boughtin, who died in 1977. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1983 from Gresham. On Feb. 13, 1986, in Reno, Nev., he married Victor M. Wayne, who died in 1997.
Mrs. Wayne inspected eggs for Swift and Safeway Companies for 18 years. During World War II, she worked for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in Southern California.
She enjoyed camping and fishing, church activities, spending time with her family and cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Sowell, Central Point; a brother, Raymond Fitzwater, Loveland, Colo.; two sisters, Ona Hayes, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Dorothy Baker, Denver; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Friends may pay their respects at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Perl Funeral Home Chapel, Medford.
