Robert Victor Palasch
The graveside service for Robert Victor Palasch will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Steve Mason of Vietnam Veterans of America will officiate.
Mr. Palasch, 57, of Medford, died Tuesday (May 8, 2001) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Philadelphia. He moved to the Rogue Valley 12 years ago from Orange, Calif. On April 20, 1996, in Medford, he married E. Ann Nicholson, who survives.
Mr. Palasch served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AM VETS, the Non-Commissioned Officers Association, and was command sergeant major of the Oregon State Defense Force. He was also a member of the E-9 Association and was the current governor of Medford Moose Lodge No. 178.
Mr. Palasch was an AARP Tax Aide Program volunteer computer technician. He received the Chapel of the Fourth Chaplain Award and the Community Spirit Award from Channel 10.
He enjoyed computers.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert Jr., Mount Washington, N.C.; four brothers, James, Philadelphia, Edward, Seaville, N.J., Joseph, Cape May Court House, N.J., and David; three sisters, Linda Roberts, Bensalem, Pa., Barbara Laer, Croydon, Pa., and Dianne Clouse, Port Charlotte, Fla.

Eugene C. Cavanaugh
Eugene Clinton Cavanaugh, 76, of Medford and Sisters, died Wednesday (May 9, 2001) at his Medford home. No service is planned.
He was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Portland, a son of Patrick and Hannah Cavanaugh.
Mr. Cavanaugh was one of the first 100 employees for Tektronix in Beaverton, where he worked from 1947 to 1963. He then became a longshoreman, working for Pacific Maritime Association in Portland.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Cavanaugh was a member of the International Longshoremen's Workers Union (I.L.W.U.).
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Newkirk, Central Point, and Cheryl Cavanaugh, Niles, Ohio; three sons, Doug, Sisters, Steve, Portland, and Dennis, Beaverton; two brothers, Mike, Cornelius, and Pat, St. Johns; two sisters, Mary Kenney, Kalispell, Mont., and Maxine Barbus, Portland; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dick, " and Hank.

Charles 'Chuck' B. Henry
A celebration of life and potluck for Charles "Chuck" B. Henry will be at noon Saturday, May 19, at Stewart State Park. Friends are asked to bring a humorous story or memory (preferably written) to share. People with street rods are encouraged to drive them.
Mr. Henry, 55, of Shady Cove, died Wednesday (May 9, 2001) in Shady Cove, of melanoma skin cancer.

He was born July 24, 1945, in Santa Ana, Calif. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Corona Del Mar, Calif., when he was 1 year old. On Feb. 28, 1969, in Reno, Nev., he married Vicki Browns, who survives.
Mr. Henry was a self-employed entrepreneur.
He served in the U.S. National Guard.
Mr. Henry enjoyed street rodding, flying, fishing and working with horses.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Derek, Central Point; a daughter, Nikki Henry, Salem; his mother, Frances Webb, Mountain View, Calif.; and a brother, Bill, Afton, Wyo. His father, Bernard, preceded him in death.

Carolyn Anne Stark
Carolyn Anne Stark, 71, of Medford, died Thursday (May 10, 2001) at Rogue Valley Manor Health Center. No local service is planned at this time.
She was born July 22, 1929, in San Diego, the daughter of Harry and Ann Schaper. In 1948, in San Diego, she married Henry C. Moyer, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1955 from California. On Oct. 25, 1990, in Carson City, Nev., she married Stanley L. Stark, who survives.
Mrs. Stark spent a little more than 20 years in the wholesale paper business.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Stephen H. Moyer, Salem; a daughter, Judith Anne Moyer, Salem; a brother, Hal Schaper, Venice, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Myrtle Warner
Myrtle Warner, 88, of Central Point, died Friday (May 11, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
A private service is planned.
She was born Myrtle Evelyn Johnson, the daughter of Michael and Lina Johnson, on Nov. 14, 1912, in North Dakota.
On May 2, 1931, in Watertown, S.D., she married Reuben Sylvester Warner, who survives.
The couple moved from California to the Rogue Valley in 1974.
Mrs. Warner was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching baseball and shopping. She rode in the South Dakota rodeo as a child.
She is survived by her husband, five children, 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Truman Bradford
Truman Bradford, 82, of Medford, died Friday (May 11, 2001) at his home.
A private service is planned.
He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Richland to Ira William and Edna Bradford.
On Nov. 20, 1939, in Medford, he married Verla Hixon, who survives.
He lived in the Rogue Valley for most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He delivered milk for Gilman's and Jorgensen's dairies. He delivered fuel for Fabers before retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Jerry and Dwight, both Medford, Kenneth, Tacoma, Wash., and Gordon, Puyallup, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Winchell 'Woody' Knapp
The memorial service for Winchell "Woody" Elwood Knapp will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery Interment Shelter. Pastor Terry Terrall will officiate.
Mr. Knapp, 75, of Central Point, died Thursday (May 10, 2001) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Rocky Point, Wyo., a son of Charles and Hazel Knapp. He lived in Klamath Falls from 1949 to 1962. He moved to Ashland in 1964. On April 8, 1989, in Ashland, he married Margie M. Cowdrey, who survives. They moved to Central Point in 1992.
Mr. Knapp worked in home construction as a contractor in Klamath Falls from 1940 to 1944. He was superintendent for Boise Cascade until his illness forced his retirement at age 47.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Knapp enjoyed woodworking, traveling and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Michael, Medford; a stepson, Steven Nickeson, Talent; two stepdaughters, Nancy Purdue, Phoenix, and Connie Nickeson, White City; two brothers, Hank, Powell, Wyo., and Irvin, Hulett, Wyo.; a sister, Lois Thomas, Medford; and one grandson.
