Matthew Ryan McCall
October 10, 1991 – August 24, 2010

Matthew Ryan was welcomed into the McCall family in Oakland, CA on October 10, 1991. Matt was loving, fiercely loyal and generous with an unwavering sense of fairness. Matt never allowed adversity to steal his dreams.

From a young age he had an uncanny interest in sports. As an athlete, Matt excelled, persevering through physical limitation and overcoming adversity from his peers. He tackled sports with heart, dedication and honor and was proud to be a member of the Tualatin High School Football and Track teams. He graduated from Tualatin High School in May 2010.

Matt was dedicated to his family. Despite the loss of his father and other disappointments, Matt never gave into self pity and he never quit. He developed thorns to protect his tenderness, but never lost his heart of gold. He was unbelievably courageous and uncomplaining in his brief, intense fight for life against cancer.
