Kenneth Ingram
Kenneth Ingram, a longtime Coos County resident recently residing in Columbia City, Oregon, passed away June 1, 2010 in Milwaukie, OR.Ken was born in Culp Creek, Oregon on February 15, 1926 and moved to Prosper as a young boy. Ken served on a Navy carrier during World War II. He and Bev, married for nearly fifty years, were wed in Reno, NV in 1950. Ken was the last of seven children of Carl and Virgie Ingram. Ken and Bev raised six children and some siblings. They had a very large extended family, including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great- grandchildren.
Ken was the co-owner of Ingram Brothers Logging, Quiet Valley Industries and Circle I Ranch. He was also a cranberry grower. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting in Eastern Oregon, snowmobiling, camping, and rafting on the Rogue River. He enjoyed many Pacific coast activities such as fishing, clamming, crabbing, and watching big storms. Ken was an active member of the Elks, VFW and Eagles. He supported local high school athletic, academic and scholarship programs. He contributed time and money to the Girl Scouts. He participated in Oregon’s fish and wildlife preservation and enhancement long before official programs were established. He enjoyed the great outdoors. Ken was hard working and strong willed, but also liked to play hard. Some would say they had a love-hate relationship with Ken.
Ken’s family is planning a small private ash scattering ceremony on July 1, 2010. Family and friends are welcome to an informal celebration at Bullard’s State Park in the West Pavilion in Bandon, Oregon on July 3, 2010. The family will be picnicking and celebrating his life most of the day there. There will be an ice cream social from 2:00pm to 4:00pm for all. Mary K. (Tilden) Gindlesperger
Born June 17th 1942 – Died July 26th 2010
Mary K. Tilden was the first child of Vernon Tilden & Bertha Brendal Tilden, eventually becoming a big sister to Mark, Marleen and Patrick. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Mary attended St. Ignatius Grade School for eight years and Franklin High School for four years. Mary went on to raise five children of her own & one grandson, Jett, treating all with unconditional love. She was also a second mom to many of her children’s friends. Mary resided in Estacada, Oregon for the past thirty-six years where many of her happiest memories were formed with her large extended family of children, grandchildren, close friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed the company of the folks at the local market where she frequently shopped. Mary took pleasure in sewing, gardening and cooking for her family and for all the other special people in her life.
Mary is survived by her sons John Endicott and Randy & Russell Gindlesperger, and by her daughters Janine Williams and Lisa Foley. She is further survived by her grandchildren Jamie, Jennifer, Richard, Jett & Sterling. Mary is also survived by her mother Bertha. Mary was also a great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon. Mary touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life for Mary Gindlesperger will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at the Eagle Creek Grange, located at 24491 SE Eagle Creek Rd. (corner of Wildcat Mt. Dr. & Eagle Creek Rd. off of Hwy. 224) in Eagle Creek, Oregon.

Harold “Hal” Haugen
Harold “Hal” Haugen died July 24th, 2010 in Woodburn, Oregon at the age of seventy-seven. Born December 15th, 1932 in Portland, Oregon, Harold began his high school years attending Grant High School before finishing up in Long Beach, California. In 1950 he enlisted in the United States Navy, becoming a radar man during the Korean War. While serving in the military he received the Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. On February 26th, 1956 Harold and Agnes Garland were joined in marriage. He worked for many years as a commercial fisherman, a truck driver on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, as a contractor and as a carpenter. He enjoyed traveling, country and western music and wood carving, and was a former member of the Sons of Norway.
Harold is survived by his wife Agnes Haugen, by his sons Marc Haugen and Scott Haugen and by his daughters Jan Anderson and Kim McCoy. A grandfather of seven, Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Lars Haugen, and by his brother Donald Haugen.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Hal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at the Chehalem Armory Center, located at 620 N. Morton Street, Newberg, Oregon.

Rosemary Hinchman
Rosemary Hinchman of McMinnville, passed away July 23, 2010. She is the daughter of John and Fern (Waltz) Herring, born November 20, 1932 in Kansas City, MO. She married Howard Hinchman in 1951. She was a bookkeeper/accountant for over 30 years and she was especially fond of her 2 grandchildren.
Rosemary is survived by sons Dennis (Penny) Hinchman of Amity, Gary Hinchman of McMinnville and David Hinchman of Portland; brother John Robert Herring (Dorothy) of Salem, sisters Ruth Oester (Bruce) of Vancouver and Rita Martinson (Paul) of Monmouth and brother Ronald Herring (Laura) of McMinnville; 2 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 49 years, Howard.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., July 27th, 2010 at the Masonic Cemetery in McMinnville, OR. Memorial Contributions can be made to Legacy Hospice, 2275 NE McDaniel Lane, McMinnville, OR 97128. Arrangements by Alternative Burial and Cremation – Tualatin.
Sandra Lee Sargent
Sandra Lee Sargent was born March 15th, 1960 and passed away July 20th, 2010 at the age of fifty. Sandra spent most of her life on the Oregon coast, enjoying the beach, camping and the company of family and friends. For many years she worked as a cook at the Relief Pitcher in Seaside, Oregon. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Sandra is survived by her sisters Shari L. Kelso and Doris M. Brunswick and by her brother-in-law David J. Brunswick. She is also survived by her boyfriend Fred W. Cole. Sandra is further survived by her nephews Shannon Kelso, David Brunswick Jr., Donald Brunswick II and Ceno Matteucci. She is also survived by her nieces Shawna Matteucci, Kathy Morrow and Valerie Kelso. In addition, Sandra is survived by her great nephews Cody Kelso, Dyland Matteucci and Soren McKenzie and great nieces Reno Meiling and Tenley Matteucci. Sandra is also survived by Aimee Bartlett, who remained close to her for many years.
A service for Sandra will be held at a date to be determined.

George C. Millak, Jr.
July 6, 1920 – July 16, 2010
George was born in Bingham, Utah to George and Katherine Millak. They soon moved to Portland, OR where he grew up with his sisters Madge & Joan. He served in World War II as an ensign in the Navy and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in the battle in the south Pacific near New Guinea. After the war he married Audrey Erickson May 18, 1945. They enjoyed a loving marriage for 65 years.
George started his voyage of many enterprises in Portland with the Mecca Welles Tavern on SE 26th & Clinton Street. From there he went on to own and operate The Peppermill, Rose City Club, Valhalla, Dol and Penny, The Stark Club, Colosuano’s Deli, The Captains Corner, Georges Three and Prouty’s.
George and Audrey moved to Gearhart, OR in 1970 where he owned the The Sandtrap at the Gearhart golf course and the Oceanside Restaurant, also in Gearhart.
George is survived by his loving wife Audrey, son George III, daughter-in-law Donna, 6 grandchildren – George IV, Angela, Andrea, Alison, Shelly & Jason and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. A service with full honors will be at Willamette National Cemetery on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 12:30 pm.

Virginia Alice Lorenzini
On July 19, Virginia was united with the Lord she so dearly loved. Born in Pendleton, OR, Virginia moved to Portland where she eventually began a promising singing career. This career was cut short when she met and married Nello Lorenzini - a marriage that lasted 43 years until Nello’s death in 1985. Virginia was a member of New Hope Community Church where she acquired many loving Christian friends. She was an avid student of the bible and was well known as a prayer warrior. Virginia was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Virginia was preceded in death by one of her sons, Donald. She is survived by three children; David, Diane and John; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at New Hope Community Church, 11731 SE Stevens Rd., Portland, OR 97086. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Milwaukie.
“Peggy” Margaret Elizabeth Gross
Portland resident, “Peggy” Margaret Elizabeth Gross, 78, passed away on July 17th, 2010. Peggy was born on July 1, 1932 in Niagara Falls, New York. She was raised in Queenston, Ontario, Canada and married Hy Gross in Boston, Massachusetts in 1954. Peggy worked primarily as a homemaker and enjoyed making art and sculptures.
She is survived by her daughter Heidi Gross of Durham; son Randy Gross on Long Beach, NY; son-in-law Fred Millard of Durham; grandson Eric Millard of Durham; daughter-in-law Debbie Becker of Long Beach, NY; and granddaughter Storm Becker-Gross of Long Beach, NY.
