Louis “Denny” Dennis Maloy
Louis Dennis Maloy, 81, December 24, 1927 – July 24, 2009 “Denny” as he was known to his friends and family went to the Lord on July 24, 2Maloy009. He was born in Akron, Ohio in 1927 and moved with his family to Inglewood, Calif., in 1928. After serving in the Merchant Marines at the end of World War II, he started a radiator business in 1964 in Gardenia, Calif. In 1969 he moved to Sherwood with his wife and two daughters and then to Canby in 1988, where he retired from his own painting business. Denny is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Diane Maloy, Dennise Dutson and Cheryl Ashford; son, Mike Maloy; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children; and sister, Pat Reynolds, Denny had a strong faith in our Lord and a memorial service with a celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, in Bethany Church, 450 S. Ivy St., Canby OR 97013. The family requests donations to be made to the Canby Center at P.O. Box 518, Canby, OR 97013.

Virginia Helena Brown
March 2, 1912 – July 21, 2009
Virginia Helena Brown, 97, died on July 21, 2009 in Beaverton, Oregon. Virginia was born on March 2, 1912 in St. Paul Park, Minnesota, to Anthony and Gertrude Hartenstein. She moved to Wisconsin at a young age, and returned to Minnesota for her high school years. Virginia worked at the Crain Company in St. Paul for a few years, and got married at the age of 22 to Thorwald A. Brown. Thorwald and Virginia were married for 71 years, and during their marriage, they adopted 2 daughters, Kathryn and Gail. A couple of Virginia’s favorite things include gardening and animals, particularly horses and cats.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Richardson and husband Jack, Gail Brownmiller and husband David; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister, LoRayne Harmon. There will be a crypt side service for Virginia in Sun City Arizona at a later date. Judy Gay Lovelady
Judy Gay Lovelady, 57, December 1, 1951 – July 19, 2009 Judy was born in San Jose, Calif to Bethold and Virginia Lovelady. She was an electronics assembler. Judy is survived by her sons, Kelly Bennett and Nathaniel Pinheiro. There will be no service held. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
John “Chubby” Anthony Miles
October 12, 1963 – July 18, 2009
John (Chubby) Anthony Miles, 45, died on July 18, 2009 of natural causes. He was born on October 12, 1963 in Opelousas, Louisiana. Chubby was raised primarily in Louisiana and moved to the Portland area at the age of 18. He worked in landscaping. In 1986, Chubby met Kim Hult in Portland, and the couple married in 1994 in Port Barre, Louisiana. Chubby loved riding ATV’s, basketball, football, the outdoors, camping, traveling, horseshoes, visiting friends and family and being around kids. Everybody in the Chubby’s community knew him as Uncle Chubby.
Chubby is survived by his wife, Kim Hult; children, Anthony Miles-Munson, Kathleen Miles, Marcus Miles, Tyron “Tank” Miles, Derrick Miles and wife Candace, May May Rose and husband Jordan, Frank Nacoste, Zachary Nacoste; brothers, Erick Miles, Jr., Russell Miles, Bradley Miles; sister Phebe Miles; 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Erick, Sr. and Mercedes Miles; brothers; Ronald Miles, Raymond Miles; sisters Sheila Miles and Amanda Miles.

Stephen Herbert Sheard
April 15, 1950 – July 9, 2009
Stephen Herbert Sheard, 59, passed away on July 9, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. Stephen was born in Portland, Oregon on April 15, 2009 to Harold and Ruth (Shall) Sheard.
Stephen worked as a retail cashier.
Stephen is survived by his wife Rosalee; son Jonathan Sheard; step – children Eli Wingfield and Heather Wingfield.

Stephen was born in Portland, Oregon to Harold and Ruth Sheard. He was a cashier for Fred Meyer. Stephen is survived by his wife, Rosalee; son, Jonathan; and stepchildren, Eli and Heather Wingfield. Charles Louis Wall
Charles L. Wall (Cdr. USN Ret.) died at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital on March 28, 2009 surrounded by his wife, five children, and granddaughter.
“Chuck” was born March 27, 1921 at Casey County, Kentucky. He graduated high school at Liberty, KY, earned a BS at Berea College, graduated US Navy Midshipmen School at Columbia University, and received his MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
His career as an officer in the US Navy spanned 23 years over which he commanded ships of the line in two wars and served as Assistant Comptroller of the Navy at the Pentagon. After the Navy he managed contracts for Computer Science Corporation.
In retirement his hobbies were salmon and deep sea fishing. He was also a Masterpoint Bridge Player and completed the newspapers’ crosswords daily.
He is survived by Terry H. Wall, his wife of 62 years. Sons: Craig, Geoffrey, and Brian Wall. Daughters: Kathleen Wall and Tamarah W. Swick. He has six granddaughters: Tammarah and Jessica Wall, Ariel and Samantha Swick, Zoli Wall, and Malia Wall.
Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetery at 1000, Friday, April 3. A reception will be held at Spring Ridge at Charbonneau in Wilsonville, OR at 1:30.
In lieu of flowers, his favorite charities are the Oregon Food Bank and the United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO).

Edward Leonard
August 8, 1920 – May 31, 2009
Tualatin resident, Edward Alvis Leonard, 88, died on May 31, 2009. Edward was born on August 8, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was raised in Minneapolis and joined the Navy out of high school. In 1943, Edward received an honorable discharge from the Navy and joined the Army Air Corps. During WWII, he was a First Lieutenant and flew as a Navigator and Bombardier in missions over the Pacific and North Korea. Edward received many medals and other decorations during his service. After being honorably discharged from the Air Corps, Edward moved to Spokane, WA, with his wife, Lorraine Lund, whom he had married in 1947. In 1960, the couple divorced and Edward moved to Portland, Oregon. Edward married Patricia Ann Rayburn in 1972 in Portland, and the couple settled in Tualatin, Oregon in the late 1970’s. A few of Edward’s hobbies include Golf, Sports, Eating Out at various restaurants and walking his dogs. He was a member of the Tualatin County Club.
Edward is survived by his son and caretaker, Michael Leonard and his wife Gayle, two grandsons, Arron and Alexander, and stepdaughter Jennifer Murdoch.
