Caroline Lucille Mills

Caroline passed away at the age of 70, in the afternoon hours of March 4, 2010. She was the daughter of Philip and Caroline Unterschultz, born December 9, 1939 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She grew up in Canada and moved to Spokane, WA where she graduated with a Masters Degree from Witworth University in 1962.

After graduating from college, Caroline moved to Oregon in 1964 where she worked as a nurse at many local hospitals and nursing homes. She met and married Otha Mills in April of 1967 and together they raised two children, Shannon Lane and Charles Mills. she was an avid reader and attended church at Beautiful Savior Lutheran in Milwaukie, OR.

Caroline is survived by her daughter Shannon Lane; grandchildren Christopher, Ryan, Caitlyn and Benjamin; and a sister Madeline Carow of Forest Grove. She is preceded in death by her spouse of 36 years Otha and son Charles. A private interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Memorial Center – Milwaukie.

Curtis Michael Spain
March 11, 1952 – March 3, 2010

Curtis Michael Spain, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away on March 3, 2010, at the age of 57. Curtis was born to Curtis and Norma Gene (Smither) Spain on March 11, 1952. He was married to Marlene E. Curtis and they had two daughters: Tawny and Crystal Spain. Curtis is also survived by brothers Ronnie, Monte, and David.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.

Robert “Bob” E. Kirkland

Robert “Bob” E. Kirkland of Portland, OR passed away in the evening hours of March 2, 2010 at the age of 74. He was the son of Robert and Emma Kirkland, born July 24, 1935 in Armel, Colorado.

Bob was a truck driver and a horseshoer. He was on the Washington County Rodeo Board. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Hazel of Portland, son Rob Kirkland of Portland and daughter Krystal Kirkland of Honolulu, HI and 5 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Beaverton Foursquare Church, 13565 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton, OR at 2:00 PM, Thursday March 25, 2010. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to www.crystalpeaksyouthranch.org in memory of Bob. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Milwaukie.

Doris (Pat) Olson
January 31, 1929 – March 2, 2010

Doris Pat Olson passed away on March 2, 2010 at her residence in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Doris was born on January 31, 1929 to George and Inez Hammock in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was raised in Spokane, WA and Portland, OR and married Donald Olson on January 31, 1947. The couple had 5 boys and moved to Lake Oswego in 1958. Doris worked as a homemaker and loved taking care of her family and traveling.

Doris is survived by her husband of 63 years Donald R. Olson; sons Donald W. Olson and wife Pamela, Craig Olson and wife Ilene, Steven Olson and wife Ellen, Jim Olson and wife Gina, Mark Olson and wife Rhonda; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brothers Dale Hammock and Jack Hammock.

A private family memorial will be held. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin, Oregon.

"Mel" Melanie D. Widener (Macut)
June 11, 1977 – March 1, 2010

Melanie D. Widener, 32, passed away on March 1, 2010 in Sherwood, Oregon. Mel was born in California on June 11, 1977 to John and Deborah Macut and she attended Modoc High School in Alturas, California. She moved to Tualatin in 1998 and married Dean Widener on December 12, 1998. Mel worked as a waitress at Shari’s for nearly 10 years in Sherwood. She had a kind heart and there were a few times that she would see people alone at the restaurant on Thanksgiving and invite them to her family dinner. In Mel’s spare time she loved pets, salt water aquariums, and collecting elephants. She also enjoyed trips with her family, including their time spent riding quads at the dunes. Her husband and son were her two greatest loves.

Mel is survived by her husband Dean Widener of Sherwood; son Dillan Marcus Widener; mother Debbie Buchanan of Alturas, California; brothers Scott Buchanan and Chris Buchanan; grandmother Florence Macut; mother-in-law and step-father in law Carol and David Englehart; sister-in-laws, Christine (Jimmy) Breese, Candice, Kaylen, and Haylie; brother-in-law Eric (Litz) McKinnon; and step-father Ed (Jaynie) Buchanan.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Sherwood Elks Lodge on Saturday, March 6th at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center- Tualatin, Oregon.

Robin Lynn Burtch (Stanley)
May 4, 1965 – March 1, 2010

Robin Lynn Burtch, 44, passed away on March 1, 2010 in Woodburn, Oregon. Robin was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 4, 1965 to Edward and Jeanne (Slinkard) Stanley.

Robin worked as a cook at a nursing home.

Robin is survived by her husband, Robert Burtch; daughter, Zennette Stanley; sons, William Stanley and Zachery Burtch; and father, Edward Stanley.

Edward Case Gordon

Edward Case Gordon, 39, was born in Portland, Oregon on November 19, 1969 to William Gordon and Nancy Case. Edward passed away on October 4, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.

Edward was raised in Oregon and graduated from McNary High School in 1987 in Salem, Oregon. Edward worked as a Customer Service Agent for the telephone company. Edwards hobbies were collecting and studying art, painting and drawing.

Edward is survived by his partner Terry Gravening of Portland, Oregon; parents, Bill Gordon and Nancy Case of Salem, Oregon; sisters Marla and Cynthia of Portland, Oregon; brother, Jay of Elma, Washington. Terry Gravening’s family resides in Canby, Oregon.

Louise Cline

Louise Ann Cline passed away on October 3rd after a short illness at the age of 74. She was the daughter of Joseph Bughi and Ena Gall. She is survived by her sons Rick Bughi and Art Cline of Boring, Oregon, and her daughter Toni Hirbeck of Falls City, Oregon, as well as another son, Wade Cline, who passed away at the age of 21. She also had two sisters, Virginia and Barbara of California as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren in addition to many nieces and nephews. She was born in San Mateo, California on May 20th, 1935. She was very talented in all mediums of arts and crafts and loved making things for friends and family. She was also very fond of the many dachshunds she raised. She was loved by everyone she had contact with and will be missed by us all. Arrangements were Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.

Tiffany Luther

Tiffany Ann Luther was born on April 12, 1983, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to Cindy and Al Chumley. She spent the majority of her childhood in St. Charles, Illinois, before making the move out to the Portland area in July of 2006. Prior to her move, she married Christopher Marcus Luther in the summer of 2005. They would go on to become parents to a baby boy, Evan Michael Luther. Tiffany was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and going to the stunning Oregon coast. She is survived by her husband, Christopher, son Evan Michael, parents Cindy and Al Chumley, sister Heidi Voss, and brother Paul Schueman. A memorial service will be held at the East Gresham Kingdom Hall on October 10, 2009, at 4:00 pm. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center – Milwaukie.
