Frederick “Cliffy” T. Harris
Frederick Truman Harris (Cliffy) passed away March 27th at his home in Salem, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Milo T. Harris and Mary Groff Harris of Spokane, WA. Fred was born in Spokane on April 25th, 1941. He attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane. Fred’s life consisted on many talents, including construction, restaurants, and running a motorcycle track in Salem. He was also involved in sports car racing, hydroplane racing in the Spokane area and was an avid skier. Fred retired from Oregon Department od Corrections, where he was a food service coordinator with the Mill Creek Minimum Security Facility.
Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son David and his brother Milo. He will be dearly missed by his many friends in Spokane and Salem. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Crown Memorial Center – Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. A gathering will be held at a date to be announced later.
Dixie Deanne Lindberg
Dixie Lindberg of Mosier, OR passed away in the evening hours of March 26, 2010 at the age of 56. she was born to Lindy and Geri Lindberg in Mt. Vernon, WA on May 21, 1953. Dixie worked as a meat wrapper at Roseauers. She was known for her immense talents with crafts and sewing. She was extremly handy with leather and fabric, and could make anything. Dixie was compassionate and cared for her loved ones and was known to have a big heart. The nurses at the hospital described her as feisty and humorous.
“Dixie, your family loves you and we will miss you. God Bless you.”
Dixie is survived by her daughters Monique Davidson and Lenya Nelson; sister Joanna Rockwell; brothers Wayne Lindberg and Lindy Lindberg, parents Lindy and Geri Lindberg; and six grandchildren, Cheyenne, Seth, Genevieve, Quinton, Laylani, and Kamilani. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Nadine Roberta Hodges
September 11, 1950 – March 25, 2010
Nadine Roberta Hodges, 59, passed away on March 25, 2010. Nadine was born in Portland on September 11, 1950 to Chester and Louise Hodges. She grew up in the Portland Metropolitan area and attended Clackamas High School and graduated from Putnam High School. Nadine worked as Data Entry specialist for PharMerica.
In Nadine’s spare time she loved games and puzzles, going to casinos, traveling to the beach, and she loved cats.
Nadine is survived by her daughter Sarah Hodges of Beaverton; son Daniel Hodges of Portland; cat, Mo; sisters, Larri and Jeannie; and brothers, Bruce and Steve.
A Family gathering will be held. . Arrangements made by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
Elliott “Bud” Leighton
We celebrate the life of Elliott Leighton, lovingly known as Bud. Born in New York in 1930, Bud passed away on March 25, 2010 with family at his side in Portland, Oregon.
Bud is survived by his loving partner Lavonne and her children Joseph Welp, Joy Sullivan, Claire Calvin and Christin Herickx, and his sons John and Peter Leighton, and thirteen grandchildren.
Bud earned his law degree from Hastings Law School and had a distinguished law practice in San Francisco gaining recognition on many high profile cases including his support of the Sioux Indian Tribe in their claim for Alcatraz Island. Bud later achieved another Masters degree in family counseling and helped many couples through his therapy practice in Sonoma, California. Bud moved to Oregon in 1991 and lived in Milwaukie.
Bud was an avid photographer, lover of classical music, and Mensa society member. Throughout his life, Bud touched many and he leaves a legacy of great personal impact. His influence on those in his life imparts a legacy felt by many. Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
Shawn Allen Reeves
June 9, 1974 – March 24, 2010
Shawn Allen Reeves of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away at his home on March 24, 2010, at the age of 35. Shawn was born to Glenn Willard Reeves and Toni Denise (Veatch) Nunley in Newberg, Oregon, on June 9, 1974.
Shawn was self-employed as the sole proprietor/contractor in construction and remodeling.
Shawn is survived by his father, Glenn Reeves, his mother and step-father John and Toni Nunley, his sister Jessica Nunley, and his grandfather Douglas Veatch.
Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
Peggy Ruth Andrews
Peggy Ruth AndrewsPeggy Ruth (Stubbendick) Andrews, 64, of White Salmon, Washington, went on ahead to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 20, at Oregon Health and Sciences University Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was born March 2, 1946, to Ralph and Ruth (Wessel) Stubbendick.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Doug Andrews and wife, Kelli of Austin, Texas and Todd Andrews and wife, Alicia, of White Salmon, Washington. Grandchildren, Ashton, Morgan and Robyn Andrews of Austin, Texas and Fletcher, Ethan and Calvin Andrews of White Salmon, Washington. Father Ralph Stubbendick and wife, Jane; her brother Alan Stubbendick and wife, Gerri; her sister, Sherry Ross and husband, Roger; ex-husband Robert Andrews; step-brother Earl and wife Chris; step-brother Don and wife Lauri; step-brother Keith and wife Jeri; step-sister Louise Pobanz; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Stubbendick and husband, Vic Alexander.
Peggy raised her sons in Lubbock, TX where she had been a middle school art teacher. She had an incredible creative streak, a wonderful sense of humor, and she loved to laugh. She had a Bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska and a Master’s degree from Eastern New Mexico Unive A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Avoca, Nebraska on Saturday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m.. Arrangements were by Crown Memorial Center – Portland.
E. Marie Sheffield
December 3, 1932 – March 23, 2010
E. Marie Sheffield, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away on March 23, 2010, at the age of 77. Marie was born to Jay Theodore and Dorothy Loree (Fry) Smith in Seaside, Oregon, on December 3, 1932. She married Henry R. Sheffield on February 22, 1968. He preceded her in death.
Marie worked as an executive assistant in the paper industry. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and camping. She was a southern Baptist.
Marie is survived by her daughter Anne C. Warner, son Gordon F. Strong, sister Terrie Wolfer, brother Rob Smith, as well as many nephews and nieces.
A graveside service was held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Willamette National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Willamette Falls Hospice in Oregon City. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
David Charles Johnson
March 28, 1941 – March 21, 2010
David C. Johnson, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away on March 21, 2010, at the age of 68. David was born to Carl Herbert and Helen M. (Marburger) Johnson in Nevada City, California, on March 28, 1941.
David attended Franklin High School and graduated with the class of 1958. He then attended Portland State University on a golf scholarship. After serving in the Air Force Reserve, he became a professional golfer and was a PGA Teaching Professional.
David is survived by his son David Johnson. He is also survived by a twin brother, Bruce Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at the Eastmoreland Golf Course, 2425 SE Bybee Blvd., Portland, Oregon 97202. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
