Amy M. Jurney
March 19, 1920 – February 3, 2010
Amy M. Jurney, 89, passed away on February 3, 2010 at her home in Lake Oswego. Amy was born on March 19, 1920 to Clara and August Rennegarbe. At the age of 3, Amy and her family moved to California. Amy was raised in Los Angeles and attended Roosevelt High School. She later worked as a sales clerk at Bullock’s before marrying Thomas L. Jurney in 1939. Thomas and Amy had 4 children, Peter, Christopher, Susan and Candace. The family would vacation to Yosemite National Park annually, and after Thomas passed away in 1959, Amy continued their family legacy and took her family on their yearly trips to Yosemite. Around 1958, Amy began working as a school secretary, a job which she continued until her retirement in 1982. In 1983, she decided to move to Lake Oswego to be near three of her children and grandchildren. Amy was an accomplished seamstress and she loved to read and work on crossword puzzles. She was active in the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center and attended the Triumphant King Lutheran Church.
Amy is survived by her son Peter and his wife Gloria of Lake Oswego, daughters Susan Josephson of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Candace Upthegrove of Lake Oswego, brother Louis Rennegarbe, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas and son, Christopher.
A memorial service will be held on February 13th, 2010 at 2 pm at the Lake Oswego United Methodist Church, 1855 Southshore Blvd., Lake Oswego. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.Komen.org. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
Ronald Bell Hanson
Ronald Bell Hanson, of Vancouver, Washington, died on the morning of February 3, 2010. He was 75 years old. Ronald was born to Elmer and Dorothy Hanson on May 22, 1934 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He attended the Michigan Technological University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was licensed as a professional engineer. For the majority of his career, Ronald worked for the James River Corporation in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was a company transfer that landed him in the Pacific Northwest. He worked for Crown Zeller in Vancouver which ultimately became Georgia Pacific. Ronald married Patricia Wilks in 1957 and the couple had two children together, Cheryl and Reid. In his time away from work, Ronald liked to work in his yard and follow his favorite sports teams, the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Hellem and her husband, Chris, and his son, Reid Hanson, and his wife Tricia. He also leaves behind a sister, Birdie Hanson, and two granddaughters, Melissa and Michelle Hellem. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and brother, Richard Hanson. There is no service scheduled for Ronald at this time per his request. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Michigan Tech University in Ronald’s name. Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
Kathleen Bullington
Kathleen Suzanne Bullington passed away on the evening of February 2, 2010, at the age of 64. The Portland, Oregon native was born to Herman and Jean Radakovitz on February 1, 1946. Kathleen attended Madison High School before marrying Delbert Bullington. Kathleen and Delbert had three children together: Dana, Victoria and Charles. Kathleen experienced her five minutes of fame when she played an extra in the movie “Mr. Holland’s Opus” which was filmed here in the Pacific Northwest. She was best known for her kindness, selflessness, supportiveness and great sense of humor.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Dana Jarrett, of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Victoria Brown, of Portland, Oregon; son, Charles Patterson, of Clackamas and sister, Cindy Colinge. Kathleen also leaves behind 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Bullington. In accordance with her wishes, there is no service scheduled for Kathleen. Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
Todd “Willie” Darryl Richards
June 9, 1957 – January 22, 2010
Todd was born June 9, 1957 in Pasadena, California to Donald and Joan Richards. After graduating from Thousand Oaks High School he embarked on a lifetime of adventure and travel. He spent many years commercial fishing in Hawaii and also worked off the coasts of California, Alaska, Florida and Louisiana. Todd moved to Portland in 2002 to join most of his immediate family. He had many friends who shared his interests in all kinds of music and sports. Todd had a kind heart and truly cared about other people. He loved going up to Mt Hood to cut Christmas trees for family and friends. He is survived by his mother; Joan Richards, brothers; Scott & Donald, sisters; Robin Healy & Holly Richards, nephew; Addsion Richards and niece Christine Ventura-Richards. A Celebration of Life will be held Sat., Feb. 6, 2010 at 11 am in Milwaukie at the Crown Memorial Center Chapel, 17064 SE McLoughlin Blvd., Milwaukie, 97267. Rosemary Ann Sauter
Rosemary Anne Sauter (also known as “Sam” to many) died at the age of 81 in Portland, Oregon. Rosemary passed away from lung cancer and entered into the loving arms of God on March 31, 2010. She was born in Morengo, Iowa, Oct. 16, 1928 but spent most of her life in Southern California. She moved to Portland, Oregon in 2006 after her husband Eugene “Gene” Sauter of 30+ years passed away.
Rosemary loved music, dancing, swimming, holidays, decorating (crafts), an occasional trip to the casino and her love for animals was surpassed by none. In later years she loved to play computer games, e-mail & call her family & friends and loved her daily crossword puzzles. She had an incredible zest for life and love for God, and her family & friends were most important to her and that will never be forgotten.
Rosemary leaves behind her children, Cathy “Katie”, Cheryl and Bob along with her sister, Virginia West, step-children Donna & Eddie. Rosemary also had 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
I remember her sharing an article from “Ann Landers” that she had cut out of a newspaper and saved for many years:
Some people measure success by their jobs, houses, cars, or money but the “True” measure of success Is..
How your children talk about you to their friends.. . What a success she was then.
She will be missed by the many who shared in her life. There will be no service held for Rosemary per her request. Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
Beverly Mae Oathes (Farrell, Hoover)
May 3, 1924 – March 30, 2010
Beverly Mae Oathes, 85, passed away on March 30, 2010 in Tigard, Oregon. Beverly was born in Fargo, North Dakota on May 3, 1924 to Wynn and Ruby Farrell. Beverly’s family moved to Oregon in 1928. She attended St Mary’s (Portland & Salem); she graduated from Coquille High School in Coquille, Oregon.
Beverly married Robert Hoover in 1943 in Bandon, Oregon. Robert passed away in 1944. Beverly later married Arnold Oathes in 1947 in Portland, Oregon. Arnold passed away in 1988. Beverly worked as a supervisor at Tektronix for about 20 years. In her spare time Beverly enjoyed smoking, drinking, and gambling. Beverly was a long time member of the St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Beaverton, and also a Charter Member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church also of Beaverton, Oregon.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Michael) Wells of Sherwood and Cynthia Meredith (Glenn Ezelle) of Portland; son, Randall Oathes (Nancy Fischer) of Portland; sister Patricia (Martin) Lavelle of Portland; 8 grand-children; 9 great grand-children; and many friends from Tektronix, Nendels, Audionics, The Overlook Apartments, and Malone’s.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hoover in 1944; husband, Arnold Oathes in 1988; Father Wynn Farrell in 1962; and mother, Ruby Farrell in 1978.
There will be a private family memorial held at a later date. . Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
Savannah Faith Leonard
Born March 29th at 9:27 am to meet her family, she returned peacefully to heaven at 10:31 am. Savannah was born to Heidi and Aaron Leonard of Hubbard, Oregon. Her grandparents are Ed and Nancy Fritzler of Wilsonville, Oregon and Michael and Gayle Leonard of Gresham, Oregon.
Memorial Service will be held at Canby Foursquare Church on April 10th at 11 am, in Canby, Oregon.

Sean Patrick Nelson
Sean Patrick Nelson, 45, passed away March 28, 2010 at his home in Portland, Oregon. Sean grew up in Forest Grove, Oregon, graduating from Forest Grove High School in 1982. He also graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Most of his adult life was spent as a free-lance writer for local community papers. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Forest Grove, OR, a proud member of Demolay through high school and a past Master Councilor in 1980, a past Demolay State of Oregon Officer, and he currently held the office of Junior Steward at the Holbrook Masonic Lodge in Forest Grove.
This kind and gentle soul was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia McCloskey Nelson and father, Wallace Wayne Nelson. He is survived by his sister, Kathi Nelson of Costa Mesa, CA; sister Kelly Nelson of San Francisco, CA; and brother Mike Nelson of Vancouver, WA. His aunts and uncles include Marlin and Laurel Nelson of Wilsonville, OR; Colleen and Bob Olson of San Ramon, CA; and many cousins. A private family gathering is planned.
His family would like to thank the current Holbrook Masonic Lodge officers and members, plus his many Advisory Dads for their kindness and leadership through the years. Sean greatly admired and was helped by these men during his life, but his Advisory Dad, Roland Gleason, was his most cherished mentor.
