Connie Lee Balmer, 56, was born in Tacoma, Washington on January 7, 1953 to Ronnie and Lois Blumer. Connie Passed away on January 29, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.
Connie was a baker at Albertson’s. Connie is survived by her husband William K Balmer, daughter, Margo Brannam, son, Ryan Snook, step-daughters, Lori Hartman and Angela Squier, and her father Ronnie Blumer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 7, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Vernonia Community Church in Vernonia, Oregon. Arrangements by Crown Memorial Center – Tualatin.
Grace Alice Coss
Grace Alice Coss, 85, passed away on January 21, 2009 in Aloha, Oregon. Grace was born in Vernon, North Dakota on March 9, 1923 to Joseph and Mary Trenda. Grace was the oldest of four daughters.
Grace moved form North Dakota to California in the late 40’s and then moved to Eugene, Oregon and then on to Seattle, Washington in 1952. She moved then to Park Place in Tigard, Oregon in 2002 to be closer to family.
Grace worked in jewelry sales for Hoffman’s, Skis, and Classic Gold and Silver in Eugen for about 40 years.
Grace is survived by her son, Joe and his wife Debbie of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Irene Hoverson of Maine and June Ledbury of North Dakota.
A service will be announced at a later date.

Kendrick “Bud” Watson Shelton
October 3, 1924 – January 15, 2009
Kendrick “Bud” Watson Shelton, 84, passed away on January 15, 2009 in Tigard, Oregon. Bud was born in Ashland, Kentucky on October 3, 2009 to Henry and Edna (Hammonds) Shelton.
Bud served out country in the Navy during World War II. Bud worked for Cormark as a Warehouse coordinator.
Bud is survived by is wife Dorothy; son, Kim and wife Kathy Shelton of Florence, Oregon; daughters, Jackie Fink of Portland, Oregon, Pami Lovelace of Milwaukie, Oregon.

Chris Dwyer
Chris Dwyer, 56, passed away on January 14th, 2009, at her home in Portland, after her battle with pancreatic cancer. Christina was born in New York City on April 1st, 1952. She moved to Portland in the 1980’s to work as a genetic counselor at OHSU, and later worked as a self employed realtor. She was a member of the Gresham Rock Club, and was a master of Stained Glass. She was also a very skilled woodworker.
Chris is survived by her partner, Alicia Hapakuka; her brothers, Robert, Michael and John Dwyer, and her beloved dog, Kugie. A Celebration of Chris’s Life will take place at a later date.

Helen Marjorie Uphoff
February 19, 1923 – January 3, 2009
Helen Marjorie Uphoff, 85, passed away on January 3rd, 2009. Helen Hedren was born in Randolph, Kansas on February 19, 1923 to Delpha and Leslie Hedren. In 1945, she met Robert W. Uphoff, in North Hollywood, CA. The couple married on April 7, 1947. In 1974, they moved to Woodburn from Los Angeles, and remained there for nearly 20 years. They returned to California and lived in Paradise, California until 2002, when they moved to Tualatin. Helen was primarily a homemaker during her lifetime, and she loved butterflies. The most important part of her life was her husband, who passed away in 2004, and her children and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Sharon McQuerry of Tualatin, Cathy Lomax and husband Jim of Sacramento, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

David William Zerba
08-19-1951 New Britton, CT - 02-27-2009 Portland, OR
David Zerba of Aloha, OR passed away on February 27. David was born on August 19th, 1951. He grew up in Connecticut and lived part of his teenage years in beautiful Cape Cod. In 1980 he met Jeanette Ferguson in California and in 1988 they were married in Connecticut. In 1993 they moved to Aloha, OR where they have since resided. David was a journeyman machinist for many years and had a natural talent for computer work, including programming, maintenance and consulting. His hobbies were in helping people and bible studies. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall in Aloha since 1993.
David is survived by his spouse Jeanette, his daughter Camille Frances Zerba of San Francisco, his son Michael Robert Zerba of Las Vegas, brothers Richard and Johnny Zerba, his sister Carol Zerba and five grandchildren.

Clarence Leroy Fillis
Clarence Leroy Fillis, 92, of Canby died February 25, 2009. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00am at Canby New Life Foursquare Church.
Clarence was born October 18, 1916 in Enid, MT. He lived in Nevada for 12 years where he was a greeter in various churches in Fallon, NV. He worked for Johnson Controls for 10 years. He has lived in Canby for the past 7 years and was a charter member of New Life Foursquare Church. He was in the Army Air Force during WWII. He loved woodworking and plastic canvas. He married Dorothy Hastings in 1942.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Fillis; sons Art Fillis, Wayne Fillis and Terry Fillis; daughter Beverly Countryman; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
