Donald Eugene Paxson
February 11, 1935 – April 23, 2010
Donald Eugene Paxson, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away at his home on April 23, 2010, at the age of 75. Donald was born to Kenneth Henry and Helen Evelyn (Roth) Paxson in LaPorte, Indiana, on February 11, 1935. He married Dixie L. (Worl) Paxson on August 27, 1960, and they had three daughters: Tari Lee, Krisa Paxson, and Jaci Paxson. Donald was a retired warehouseman and worked for Rudie Wilhelm. He lived in Milwaukie for 35 years and served in the US Army.
Donald is survived by his wife, Dixie, his three daughters, two grandchildren, his sister Marcia Barnes and his brother Ray Paxson. Four other brothers and sisters predeceased him.
A Cemetery Service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
Sabina Voigt
Sabina Voigt passed away on April 19, 2010 in Oregon City. Born in Breslau, Germany on June 7th, 1926, she later moved to California before coming to live in Oregon in 1998 to be closer to family. Her professional life included working in journalism and public relations. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of the German Church of God.
Sabina is survived by her son Uwe Voigt and his wife Patty Voigt of West Linn, Oregon and grandson Nick Voigt, also of West Linn. She is also survived by son Michael Lummus and his wife Karen Lummus of Lockhart, Texas.
A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood, Oregon.

Martin B. Magallanes
1928-2010
Martin passed away peacefully at home in McMinnville, Oregon with his family by his side on April 22, 2010.
Martin was born in Oxnard, California to Florentino and Guadalupe Banales Magallanes on September 30, 1928. Martin graduated from Oxnard High School then went into the US Army serving in Korea during 1950-1952 earning Army of Occupation Medal (Japan)/ Korea Service Medal/ Bronze service star/ UN Service Medal. He returned to the States and continued his education earning a Lifetime teaching credential from UCLA in Automotive Mechanics. Martin married Louise Vargas in 1956 and they continued to live in Oxnard until 1980. During these years Martin worked with Mulhardt Company, International Harvester and Ventura Community College. They moved to Florence, Oregon opening and operating a Mexican Restaurant for ten years and teaching at Lane Community College until they retired, moving back to Oxnard. Their final move was to McMinnville, Oregon in 2000.
During Martins life he was president of the Lions club (in California), coached little league baseball, he was a member of the NRA, American Legion, VFW, and recently volunteered with high school students at Evergreen Museum with the E.A.S.A. program. He was very active in every community, making acquaintances and building friendships. Martin will be deeply missed and remembered with a smile.
Martin is survived by his wife, 4 sons and daughter, 15 grandchildren, 7 great grand children, 6 brothers, a sister and a host of nieces/nephews. He is preceded by his parents, three brothers, and three grand children.
Martins’ final wishes were to have his ashes held until a later date. At that time he will be put to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. He requested that there be no services at this time.
Ruth Erma Hoyt
October 10, 1922 – April 19, 2010
Ruth Erma Hoyt, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away on April 19, 2010, at the age of 87. Ruth was born to Nahum H. and Carrie (Sawdon) Sampson in Dallas, Texas, on October 10, 1922. She was primarily raised in the Sellwood area after having moved to Oregon when she was 13 years old. She graduated Washington High School in Portland and was retired from Montgomery Ward.
She married Adelbert Jesse Hoyt (known as Del or A.J.) in Lewiston, Idaho in April, 1941. He predeceased her. They had two children: Sharon Kay Joseph and Richard Adelbert Hoyt, as well as three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Tri-City Baptist Church.
No services are being planned at this time. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
Rachel (Dean) M. Belmore (Hudson)
October 21, 1921 – April 19, 2010
Rachel M. Belmore, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on April 19, 2010, at the age of 88. Rachel was born to Ernest Olea and Hortence Elizabeth (Johnson) Hudson in Falcon, North Carolina, on October 21, 1921, where she lived before moving to Oregon in 1939. She married Al Belmore on July 1, 1946, in Portland, Oregon, and they had three children: Stephen (Joy) Belmore of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Gerald (Tangie) Belmore of Sherwood, Oregon; and Martha (Marty) Voge of Beaverton, Oregon.
Rachel worked in retail as a sales clerk. Her hobbies were photography, cooking, travel, and fishing. She was a member of the Montavilla Baptist Church.
Rachel is also survived by a sister, Edna Johnson of Four Oaks, North Carolina; three brothers: Scott Hudson and Durwood Hudson, both of Wade, North Carolina; and Ernest Hudson, Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina. Rachel also had ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her in 2006.
Private services are being held by the family. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
Peter Fiordilino
April 14, 1949 – April 19, 2010
Peter Fiordilino, of Gresham, Oregon, passed away on April 19, 2010, at the age of 61. Peter was born to Salvatore and Christina (Capone) Fiordilino in Brooklyn, New York, on April 14, 1949.
Peter is survived by his daughter Pat Fiordilino, his brothers Carl (Rose) Fiordilino of Woodland, WA, and Anthony Fiordilino of New York, numerous aunts and uncles, one nephew, two nieces, and many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Christine Fiordilino.
Arrangements were made with Emily’s Cremation & Burial.
Eva Bailey
Eva, 93, passed away in the early hours of April 18, 2010, at her son Richard and Susan Bailey’s home in Dallas, OR. Eva was born near Wilton, ND on the family farm Sept. 23, 1916. She was the oldest of 5 children, born to Jake and Anna Patrick.
Eva graduated from Wilton High School, where she was captain of the girl’s basketball team. She graduated from Dickson Normal School and taught in a one room school house near Turtle Lake, ND until she met the love of her life William (Bill) Bailey. Eva and Bill married May 4, 1941 in Vancouver, WA. and made their home in Portland. Three sons joined the family in the next five years, Allen James, Richard Jay and Jack Michael. The family moved back to North Dakota, Portland, and Roseburg, finally settling in Winston in 1952.
Eva loved to walk, walking every day, weather permitting, until she broke her hip in 2008. She also enjoyed going to Seven Feathers and considered the employees there family. Eva and Bill loved to dance and were very active in the Roseburg Moose Lodge where they made many friends. She was very proud when she was crowned the 1970 Moose Sweetheart Queen. Bill and Eva also loved to golf, especially at Sutherlin Knolls and drove from Winston to Sutherlin almost every day until Bill’s death July 4, 1998.
Eva is survived by her sons; Richard (Susan) of Dallas, OR and Jack (Dale) of Lake Havasu, AZ; daughter-in-law Judy Wilson-Riggins; sister Pauline (Ben) Ziegler of Bismarck, ND; brother Paul (Marie) Patrick and sister-in-law Milie of Wilton, ND; special niece Diane Brown of Aumsville, OR; grandchildren Jay (Danette), Rick (Louann), Michael, Tammy, Jim, Leah, Cheryl, Patty, John, Robin, Randy and Donalla; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill; brothers Pete and John Patrick; son Allen; daughter-in-law Choco and grandson Rusty.
Eva will always be remembered by her family for her feisty spunk. A special thanks to friends in Winston, Tina Johnson, Carl and Sally Roberts, and Willamette Valley Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Memorial Center.
