Richard Allen Admire
Caring husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother and Son, Rick passed away on April 25th at the age of 54, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick never once let his illness get the better of him. His attitude and bravery in the face of his terminal illness was an inspiration to all who loved him. His concern was always for those he was leaving behind, and never once did he complain about the rotten hand he had been dealt. Through his strength, he strengthened us to help us deal with his passing.
Rick was born in San Diego to Aubrye (Jenkins) and Dean Deaton. Rick graduated from Mt. Miquel High School in 1973. He then served in the US Air Force before relocating to the Roseburg area to be near his family. It was here his two daughters were born and raised.
Rick worked for many years as a truck driver in Roseburg, and then went out on the road as a long haul driver before settling in the Salem area with his wife Liz. Rick had a tremendous work ethic and excelled at whatever job he was doing. At the time of his passing he was working for Penhall Corp. as a machine operator. Penhall was very good to Rick and allowed him to continue working as long as his illness would allow. For that we thank them.
Rick loved anything with a motor and wheels, especially his old Mustang. He was always willing to help turn a wrench for those less mechanically inclined. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends. He loved sitting around the campfire drinking Diet Pepsi and just chatting the night away. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed. Rick was also proud of his sobriety; it had been over 14 years since his last drink. What Rick most truly loved was his family; his wife of almost 14 years, his daughters and especially his grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his father George Admire, who raised Rick from a very young age. He is survived by his mother Aubrye Admire, his father Dean Deaton, his wife Elizabeth Lorraine Admire; daughter Alisha (Chad) McKinney; daughter Lyndsay; Daughter Lori (Kory) Ramsay; Son Mike (Janea) Beebe; grandchildren Aidan, Emma, Isabelle, Makenna, Taryn, Alexis, Mallory and Gavin; Sister Lori (Clay) Dawson; brother Glen Admire; Brother Greg (Maureen) Admire; sister Deni(Colleen) Admire; Brother Jeff (Stephanie) Admire; nieces and nephews Cheryl, Nichole, Kindra, Kayla, Jordan, Danny, Justena, Aubree, Emily, Madison and Trever; Aunt Linda, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Vera plus numerous cousins.
A celebratin of Rick’s life will be held on Sunday, May 2 at the Umpqua Community Center at 1:00 p.m. Bring stories, pictures and good memories.
