Robert G. Baska
Robert G. "Robbie" Baska died June 29, 2001, of injuries from a car accident at age 22. Mr. Baska was born Feb. 2, 1979, in Portland. He was raised in Vernonia and graduated as valedictorian from Vernonia High School in 1997. He was a carpenter for Rick Siler Construction Co. in Lake Oswego, building custom homes.
Survivors include his parents, Gene and Terri; brothers, Greg, Scott and Kelly; and grandmothers, Viola Heath and Myra Baska.
Service held. Interment in Vernonia Memorial cemetery. Remembrances to the Robbie Baska Helping Hands Fund (to assist future Vernonia High School students) in care of any branch of U.S. Bank. Arrangements by Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt.
Shirley Elizabeth Brenner
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Portland for Shirley Elizabeth Brenner, who died July 3 at age 68. Ms. Brenner was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Carus, and moved to Portland as a teen-ager. She graduated from Franklin High School. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Lloyd Spanke Jr.; daughters, Debra Muir, Carol Spanke and Jan Johnson; sisters, Laura McMurdo, Carol Youmans, Faye Brenner, Dorothy Michaels and Alice Bacon; and eight grandchildren.

Timothy Michael Burdick
A memorial Mass will be at noon Thursday, July 12, 2001, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Angel for Timothy Michael Burdick, who died June 26 at age 60. Mr. Burdick was born May 31, 1941 in Minneapolis and moved to Portland in 1944. He worked for Dwyer Lumber Co. for many years. He married
Kathy Anderson in 1964; they were married
for 15 years.
Survivors include his sons, Marcus G.A., Aaron G. and Ryan C.; sister, Jacqueline Sparks; and brothers, Gary, Richard and Daniel.

Kenneth L. Burghardt
Kenneth L. Burghardt died July 2, 2001, at age 58. Mr. Burghardt was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Billings, Mont. He moved to Portland in 1968 and was a truck salesman for several companies until illness forced him to retire in 1994. In 1970, he married
E.K. "Judi" Clampitt.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Mark and Simon; the great-niece he was raising, Keara Clampitt; mother, Eva B. Horning; sister, Sally Cople; brothers, Gene, Alfred and John; and two grandchildren.

William O. Butler
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for William O. Butler, who died June 30 at age 82. Mr. Butler was born March 7, 1919, in Lamar,Colo. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific and was awarded a Purple Heart. He moved to Portland in 1945 and was a truck driver for more than 30 years until his retirement. He moved to Wood Village in the early 1970s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham for about 50 years. In 1939, he married
Gladys M. Erickson; she died in 1976.
Survivors include his son, William D.; brother, Arthur L.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.
Maureen O. Campbell
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Park for Maureen O. Campbell, who died July 5 at age 80. Mrs. Campbell was born Maureen Osborn on Nov. 20, 1920, in Basin, Wyo., and was raised in Portland. She was a secretary for several companies, including Northwestern Life Insurance, and then was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Kennedy, Sue Fettig and Linda Ruggles; sons, Dave and Scot; sister, Reva Sater; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Charles C. Crites
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Rose City Church of the Nazarene for Charles C. Crites, who died July 1 at age 85. Mr. Crites was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Terre Haute, Ind. He moved to Portland about 1970. He was a truck driver for 15 years, then a custodian for Benson High School and Jason Lee Elementary School until his retirement. In 1999, he married
Janine Darnell.
Survivors include his wife; foster daughter, Carol Jerome; and nephew, Patrick Kinnaman.

Elizabeth H. Fletcher
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Bay Point Retirement Center in Bremerton, Wash., for Elizabeth H. "Betty" Fletcher, who died July 1 at age 77.
Mrs. Fletcher was born Elizabeth H. Barthuly on Sept. 27, 1923, in Sidney, Neb. She moved to Portland in 1945, and co-owned with her husband Fletcher TV & Electronics for 35 years, retiring in the early 1980s. In 1998, she moved to Kent, Wash., and then to Bremerton. In 1942, she married
Cecil R. Fletcher; he died in 1998.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Phillips and LeAnn Griffis; sons, LaMont and Ronald; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Margaret N. Glover
Margaret N. Glover died June 30, 2001, at age 77. Mrs. Glover was born Margaret N. Jackson on July 5, 1923, in Portland, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School and was a welder in the shipyards during World War II. She then was a homemaker. In 1945, she married
Wallis Glover; he died in 1971.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Griswold and Margaret Dryden; son, George; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Virginia Hanifin
A memorial gathering will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001, in the Multnomah County Central Library for Virginia Hanifin, who died June 29 at age 61. Mrs. Hanifin was born Virginia Alice Babb on Aug. 30, 1939, in Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and moved to Portland from San Francisco in 1971. In 1961, she married

Mary E. Greenwell Larson
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001, in Young's Funeral Home for Mary E. Greenwell Larson, who died July 4 at age 77. Mrs. Larson was born Mary E. Webber on July 16, 1923, in Clinton, Tenn. She was a homemaker and moved to Tigard in 1952. She worked for Nalley's in the 1960s and Tektronix in the 1980s. In 1946, she married
Charles Greenwell; he died in 1971. In 1975, she married
Benny Larson; he died in 2000.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Greenwell; daughters, Louise Burnett and Judy Franzen; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her daughter Teresa Jacob died in 1991.

Harold L. Leith
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in Zion Lutheran Church in Oregon City for Harold L. Leith, who died July 2 at age 85. Mr. Leith was born April 15, 1916, in St. Louis, Ore. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the Asia-India-Burma theater. He moved to Oregon City in 1949 and worked for PGE from 1951 until retiring as head storeroom worker in 1978. In 1949, he married
Evelyn Barnes Anderson.
Survivors include his wife; son, Robert; brother, Albert; sister, Mamie Buchanan; and two grandchildren. His son Gerald "Jerry" died in 1991.

Joe Martini
Joe Martini died July 2, 2001, at age 74. Mr. Martini was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Portland. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a general laborer until retiring in 1980.
Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Byer and Helen Meier; and six nieces and nephews.
