J. Wilson 'Willie' Johnston

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2001, in Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Wilsonville for J. Wilson "Willie" Johnston, who died June 6 at age 91. Mr. Johnston was born March 21, 1910, in Spokane. In 1927, he won the first Oregon junior amateur golf championship and later graduated from the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army for 31 years, retiring as a brigadier general in 1965. He served in World War II and later directed an Army agency for satellite communications. He lived in Gearhart from 1966 until 1974, when he moved to Charbonneau. In 1935, he married Marian S. Derby.

Survivors include his wife; son, J. Wilson "Willy" II; daughter, Prudence A. White; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Interment in River View cemetery. Remembrances to Oregon Junior Golf Association.

Stanley John Tauscher

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes for Stanley John Tauscher, who died June 4 at age 85. Mr. Tauscher was born March 9, 1916, in Portland, where he lived all his life. He graduated from Grant High School and was an engineer for Pacific Northwest Bell for 38 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 22 for about 10 years. In 1949, he married Betty V. Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife; son, Gary; daughter, Patti Tauscher-Salladay; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His son Douglas L. died in 1993.

Remembrances to Providence Hospice.

Albert William Britton

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Albert William Britton, who died May 28 at age 83. Mr. Britton was born April 24, 1918, in McCanna, N.D. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Portland in 1955. He was a machinist for International Harvester for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. In 1942, he married Frances Daily; she died in 1998.

Survivors include his daughters, Diane Kuust, Bonnie Loos, Kathy Silke, and Mary Beller; sister, Edith Lund; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Remembrances to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Division of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Dollie Faye Brutke

A memorial service will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Beaverton Rehab and Speciality Care for Dollie Faye Brutke, who died May 22 at age 92. Mrs. Brutke was born Dollie Faye Wells on Sept. 23, 1908, in Portland, where she lived all her life. A homemaker, she married August Brutke in 1925; he died in 1976.

Survivors include her daughters, Judith A. Wall and Elizabeth; brother, Robert Wells; sister, Alice Stout; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Interment in Skyline Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements by Ross Hollywood Chapel.

David Grant Carruthers

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, in Open Bible Church in Portland for David Grant Carruthers, who died May 28 at age 55. Mr. Carruthers was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Hartford, Conn. He served in the U.S. Army and received medical technologist training in Bethesda, Md. He moved to Portland from Reno, Nev., in 1988 and was a nuclear medical technician at Oregon Health Sciences University for three years until becoming disabled in 1992. In 1991, he married Debbie Marvin.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Jennifer Holt; stepdaughter, Sasha Griffith; son, Dan McAdams; and brother, Bruce.

Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrances to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Portland for Nancy Jean Chappell Cecchini, who died May 30 at age 74. A recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, in Hennessey Goetsch & McGee.

Mrs. Cecchini was born Nancy Jean Chappell on Feb. 21, 1927, in Amarillo, Texas, and moved to Portland in 1937. She was a homemaker. In 1947, she married Eugene George Cecchini.

Survivors include her husband; son, Marcus; daughters, Linda Kirk, Laurie Jensen, Kathleen Buelt, Margaret Wehrley and Bernadette Girton; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Remembrances to the Legacy VNA Health Dynamics Hospice in McMinnville.

Edward Mark Cook II

A funeral will be Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward, Calif., for Edward Mark "Eddie" Cook, who died May 26 at age 35. Mr. Cook was born Jan. 25, 1966, in San Francisco and was raised in Fremont, Calif. In 1991, he moved to Roseburg and worked in the lumber business, in construction and in home remodeling. He later moved to Portland and worked in automotive repair and later for LiveBridge Inc. He was previously married .

Survivors include his daughters, Jennah and Jessica; parents Janet and Ed; sister, Susan: grandmothers, Rita Morales and Isabel Cook; and companion, Stefanie Litus.

David C. Cram

David C. Cram died May 26, 2001, at age 54. Mr. Cram was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Oakland, Calif. He moved to Portland in 1982 and was a traffic engineer with Lancaster Engineering for about the past seven years. In 1977, he married Mardy Coates.

Survivors include his wife; stepdaughter, Kelly Pritchett; sister, Kristen; and brother, Steven.

Shirley Ann Dailey

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Shirley Ann Dailey, who died May 23 at age 70. Mrs. Dailey was born Shirley Ann Wellington on June 20, 1930, in Portland. She graduated from high school in Albany. She received a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University and a master's degree from the University of Oregon. She was a librarian for high schools in Springfield, Weston, Gresham and Estacada until retiring in 1993. She lived in Portland for the last 20 years. In 1977, she married Benton Dailey.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Sharie Brown; son, Lewis Dillon; stepdaughters, Margaret Dailey, Diane Scott and Kathleen Dailey; stepson, Pat Arias; sister, Megan Sammons; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Remembrances to the Order of Eastern Star Research Fund at OHSU for cancer research.

Clayton E. DuHaime

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, in St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens for Clayton E. DuHaime, who died May 30 at age 98. Mr. DuHaime was born June 12, 1902, in Menominee, Mich. He moved to St. Helens in 1945 and was a carpenter. He married Cecilia Domalgalski; she died in 1985.

Survivors include his daughters, Joyce Johnson, Mildred Sold, Pat Jauron and Joan Posch; sons, Clayton G. and Clarence C.; and grandchildren.

Interment in Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose. Arrangements by Columbia Funeral Home.

Lillian Flynn

Lillian Flynn died May 15, 2001, at age 78. Mrs. Flynn was born Lillian Spring on Sept. 12, 1922, in Duluth, Minn. She moved to Portland in 1994. In 1945, she married James H. Flynn; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Flynn and Marilyn Bromley; sons, William, Charles and Richard; brothers, Robert Spring and William Spring; sister, Marie Wakefield; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Private service. Interment in Hayward, Calif. Arrangements by Zeller Chapel of the Roses.

Daniel Calvin Frederickson

Daniel Calvin Frederickson died May 9, 2001, at age 39. Mr. Frederickson was born June 8, 1961, in Portland. He was a welder for Universal Structural Inc. He married Rachel E. Austin; she died in 1989.

Survivors include his daughter, Danielle M.; son, Benjamin L.; father, Robert L.; mother, Marian Langworthy Frederickson; and sister, Denise Lynn Corrigan.

Interment in Skyline Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Central Catholic High School. Arrangements by Ross Hollywood Chapel.

Joni Diane Greenstreet

Joni Diane Greenstreet died May 13, 2001, at age 41. Ms. Greenstreet was born Dec. 28, 1959, in Eugene and lived the last 18 years in Gresham. She was a hospice home caregiver.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristi Culbertson and Rebecca Heilmann; son, Curtis Januik; mother, Jeannie Gardner; father, Robert Greenstreet; and one grandchild.
