Helen June Kansky
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Rivercrest Community Church in Portland for Helen June Kansky, who died March 23 at age 85.
Mrs. Kansky was born Helen June Lotz on Jan. 9, 1916, in Spokane. She moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Parkrose High School and Reed College. She taught at several high schools in various locations, including Woodburn, St. Helens and Palm Springs, Calif. She retired in 1983. She served on election boards in Portland for 20 years. In 1943, she married
George Kansky.
Survivors include her husband; son, Brian G.; sister, Virginia Young; and two grandchildren.

Mary Margaret Kohler
A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles for Mary Margaret Kohler, who died April 3 at age 89.
Mrs. Kohler was born Mary Margaret Vinson on May 7, 1911, in The Dalles and was raised in Newberg and Lake Grove. She graduated in 1930 from West Linn High School and lived in The Dalles until the late 1980s, when she moved to Tualatin. She was a pitter for Columbia Cherry Growers and a occupational therapist for Columbia Park State Hospital for about 15 years until retiring in 1976. In 1932, she married
Ernest Kohler; he died in 1992.
Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Andrews and Margaret A. Kohler; sisters, Ursala Torpling, Agnes Harding and Isabel Booth; brothers, Ben Vinson and Gene Vinson; four grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Interment in The Dalles International Order of Odd Fellows cemetery. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association.
Oman Kunkel
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel for Oman Kunkel, who died April 3 at age 89.
Mr. Kunkel was born Aug. 27, 1911, in North Platte, Neb. He moved to Ramona, Calif., in 1933 and was a home-building contractor, retiring in 1991 when he moved to Newberg. In the late 1960s, he built a missionary residence in Guatemala. In 1939, he married
Theresa I. Ross; she died in 1997.
Survivors include his sons, Harley and Charles; daughters, Terri Bowen and Elaine Cammack; sister, Eileen Maring; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Interment in Friends cemetery. Remembrances to Friends Church Southwest in Whittier, Calif., for earthquake relief in El Salvador.
Hiram H. Layton
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Gresham Funeral Chapel for Hiram H. Layton, who died March 29 at age 75.
Mr. Layton was born Dec. 27, 1925, near Wrightsville, Ga. He moved to Springdale in 1946 and was a mill worker for Bridalveil Box & Lumber until 1960, when illness forced him to retire. He moved to Troutdale in 1965.
Survivors include his brothers, Charles, James M. and Bob.
Interment in Mt. View cemetery in Corbett. Remembrances to the American Lung Association.
Richard Grant McReynolds
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, in Finley's Sunset Hills Memorial Park for Richard Grant McReynolds, who died April 4 at age 78.
Mr. McReynolds was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Albany. He graduated from Oregon State University, played on its football team and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Afterward, he moved to Portland. He was a salesman for General Mills and owned Acme Flavoring Co. until retiring in 1982. He moved from Portland to Camas, Wash. In 1972, he married
Jean Meyer; she died in 2000.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan M. Cahill and Sally Johnson; son, William G.; stepdaughter, Gail Harris; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Audrey J. Moody
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2001, in River View cemetery in Portland for Audrey J. Moody, who died March 26 at age 70.
Mrs. Moody was born Audrey Jewell on April 23, 1930, in Braintree, Mass. She graduated from Boston University and received a master's degree in library science from Simmons College. She moved to Portland in 1958 and was a librarian for the Multnomah County Library and the Oregon Historical Society. She later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and was a government documents librarian for the Contra Costa County Library. She retired in 1993 and returned to Portland. In 1961, she married
Max Moody.
Survivors include her husband; son, Bruce; and sister, Mary Jewell.

Dr. Lawrence Noall
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary for Dr. Lawrence Noall, who died March 26 at age 91.
Dr. Noall was born March 8, 1910, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Utah and Northwestern University in Chicago and was a research fellow who studied scoliosis for one year for the Nemours Foundation. From 1941 to 1946, he was a professor in the division of orthopedics at the University of Oregon Medical School, now OHSU. He then had a private practice at the Portland Orthopedic Clinic until retiring in 1983. He was a staff physician at Shriners Hospitals for Children throughout his career. In 1935, he married
Margaret Parsons.
Survivors include his wife; son, David L.; daughters, Margot N. Pearson and Gretchen N. Reil; sisters, Ethel N. Jarman and Evelyan N. Matson; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Murl Test Perry
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Crescent Grove cemetery for Murl Test Perry, who died March 27 at age 82.
Mrs. Perry was born Murl Test Miller on April 21, 1918, in Chico, Calif. She was a homemaker who lived in California, Idaho and Minnesota before moving to Tualatin in the late 1980s. She married
Lucas Perry; he died in 1993. Survivors include her nephew, Dale R. Pruitt.

Marylee H. Pickford
Marylee H. Pickford died March 31, 2001, at age 63.
Mrs. Pickford was born Marylee Hart on Oct. 22, 1937, in The Dalles. She graduated from Oregon College of Education. She moved to Beaverton in 1990 after living outside of Oregon for several years. She worked as a customer service representative for Vernier Software. In 1983, she married
David Pickford; he died in 1989.
Survivors include her daughter, Caroline A. Nelson; son, Michael C. Winger; mother, Lavon Hart; sisters Patricia Kehr, Peggy Klein and Kathy Mercereau; brother, Robert Hart; and companion, Robert G. Polk.

Edith Joan Rooke
Edith Joan Rooke died March 18, 2001, of cancer at age 55.
Ms. Rooke was born April 13, 1945, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and grew up in Portland. She attended Washington High School. She graduated in 1991 from Western States Chiropractic College with a doctorate in chiropractic. She was a member of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
Survivors include her brothers, Lloyd and Steve.

Dennis D. Shilhanek
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, in McMinnville Covenant Church for Dennis D. Shilhanek, who died April 3 at age 56.
Mr. Shilhanek was born Jan. 1, 1945, in Britton, S.D. He moved to Oregon in 1950 and graduated from Amity High School. He worked in shipping and receiving for Georgia-Pacific in Toledo and later was a heavy equipment operator. He lived in the Whiteson area. In 1969, he married
Mary Johnson.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Marci, Margie and Mickel; son, Steve; father, Reuben; sisters, Jeraldine Korkow and Leota Mullins; brothers, Gary, Gene, Joe, Jul, Leonard, Roger and Neal; and four grandchildren.
