George Martin Angel
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes for George Martin Angel, who died April 5 at age 91. Mr. Martin was born Dec. 14, 1909, in New York City. He was an officer for the Los Angeles Police Department for 18 years before a disability forced his retirement in 1959, and he was also a flight instructor at the Glendale Airport. He moved to Portland in 1967. In 1946, he married
Beverly Wood.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Glenna Becker; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Knight Bell
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes for Kenneth Knight Bell, who died April 2 at age 84. Mr. Bell was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Seattle. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1938. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, then continued in the Reserves for 32 years. He moved to Portland in 1946 and was sales manager for Fisher Mills for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was past commander and past regional commander of the Military Order of World Wars and past president of the National Timberwolf Association. In 1940, he married
Peggy Jane Henry.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Susan J. Wilson; sister, Constance V. Robson; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Remembrance to Providence Hospice.
Adrian Blakely
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Estacada Funeral Chapel for Adrian Blakely, who died April 5 at age 79. Mr. Blakely was born March 24, 1922, in Grand Forks, British Columbia, and was raised in Danville, Wash. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1969, he moved from The Dalles to Portland, where he was a truck driver contracting with the U.S. Postal Service until retiring in 1980. In 1949, he married
Patricia Markell; she died in 1982.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda L. Hoopes and Sandra A. Seibel; brother, Forrest; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park.
Althea Boudreau
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church for Althea Boudreau, who died April 4 at age 89. Mrs. Boudreau was born Althea Moore on June 30, 1911, in Portland. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1929. She was a bookkeeper for Olds Wortman & King and then a secretary and receptionist for doctors' offices until retiring in 1972. She was a member of the church and held offices in several of its committees, was past Worthy Matron and state Grand Marshall of the Order of the Eastern Star. In 1932, she married
Louis Boudreau; he died in 1992.
Survivors include her niece, Sharleen Peterson; nephew, Edwin Hodgdon; and great-nieces and nephews.

Jack Overby Bray
A service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Jack Overby Bray, who died April 6 at age 85. Mr. Bray was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Portland, where he lived all his life. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a salesman for A.W. Davis Supply for many years, retiring in 1985. His wife, Dorothy, died in 1990.
Survivors include his sons, Jack and Steven; and three grandchildren.

Katherine D. Dahlberg
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Gresham Funeral Chapel for Katherine D. Dahlberg, who died April 6 at age 85. Mrs. Dahlberg was born Katherine D. Kaemmerling on June 1, 1915, in Lynn, Minn., and was raised in several areas of the United States. She lived in California, where she was a homemaker, before moving to Fairview from Los Osos in 1990. An artist, she sold her paintings through the Morro Bay Art Association. In 1939, she married
Edward Vogel; he died in 1969. In 1995, she married
Russell Dahlberg.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Pamela Edwards and Lea Gordinier; sisters, Truth Davidson and Whilamina Kaemmerling; and two grandchildren.

A. Oden Hawes
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Portland First United Methodist Church for A. Oden Hawes, who died April 3 at age 90. Mr. Hawes was born Sept. 21, 1910, in Heppner. He graduated from Pacific University in 1932 and received a master's degree from the University of Washington. He was principal of Spray High School, superintendent of schools in Fossil and Arlington, then worked for the Oregon School Activities Association Board from 1946 until retiring as executive director in 1975. He was a past vice president of the National Federation of State High School Associations and technical director of the National Alliance Football Rules Committee. He moved to Tigard in 1989. In 1940, he married
LaVonne L. Fisher.
Survivors include his wife; sister, LoRita Smith and Wilda Rattrey; and nieces and nephews.

Claude Howard
A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for Claude Howard, who died April 6 at age 77. Mr. Howard was born June 11, 1923, in Willamina and was raised in Vancouver. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a shop supervisor for Redimix Concrete for 30 years, retiring in 1976. In 1945, he married
Margaret Skene.

Denise R. Koyen
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in First Church of God in Vancouver, Wash., for Denise R. Koyen, who died April 6 of complications from asthma at age 35. Mrs. Koyen was born Denise Barnett on Jan. 17, 1966, in Pacoima, Calif. She was a homemaker. She moved in 1994 to Vancouver. In 1991, she married

Howard William Lawton
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Howard William Lawton, who died April 6 at age 88. Mr. Lawton was born April 28, 1912, in Omaha, Neb. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Portland, Omaha and California and returned to Portland in 1993. He was an administrative assistant for Union Pacific for 28 years, retiring in 1968. In 1938, he married
Cecilia Semlak; she died in 1993.
Survivors include his son, William; daughters, Virginia Scheschy, Marge Mitchell and Barbara Berggreen; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Doris C. Lee
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Unity Church of Beaverton for Doris C. "Dee" Lee, who died April 7 at age 82. Mrs. Lee was born Doris C. Klaumann on May 26, 1918, in Belleville, Kan. She received a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and an occupational therapist certification from the University of Southern California. During World War II and until 1949, she was a dietitian for the U.S. Army. She moved to Portland in 1954, and was briefly an occupation therapist for the Portland Rehabilitation Center and then a homemaker. In 1951, she married
Elbert Lee Jr.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Kathryn O. Bell, Linda S. Quinby and Sharon A. Lyon; sisters, Jean Harber and Lela Purdy; and five grandchildren.

Mary Virginia Lemen
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in St. Michael the Archangel Church in Portland for Mary Virginia Lemen, who died April 7 at age 77. Ms. Lemen was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Portland. She graduated from Grant High School and from Hastings Business College. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sister, Roberta Tewksbury; and nephew, Ross Tewksbury.

Irene C. Matthews
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Irene C. Matthews, who died April 5 at age 89. Mrs. Matthews was born Irene C. Marlatt on Nov. 23, 1911, in Dry Valley, Calif. She moved to Portland in 1941 and was a homemaker. In 1928, she married
James A. Matthews; he died in 1976.
Survivors include her sons, Jim, Dale and Dick; daughters, Doris McGill, Ramona Talley, Margaret McBride, Phyllis Rogers, Joyce Dobra and Mildred Braghero; 29 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Her son Cecil died in 1996.
Interment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Remembrances to the Sunshine Division.
