Ted J.O. Craig
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Molalla Memorial cemetery for Ted J.O. Craig, who died Feb. 21 of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 37. Mr. Craig was born Feb. 23, 1963, in Silverton. He attended Molalla High School and was a traffic control worker for the Clackamas County Traffic Department for several years until 1997.
Survivors include his stepsons, Gary Harrington and Greg Harrington; brothers, Paul Scheer and Monte Gillespie; sisters, Carol Blackman, Nancy Imholt, Suzanne Hardy and Gloria Scheer-Vincenzi; and one grandchild.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Oregon. Arrangements are by Crown Cremation and Burial Service.
Bernard M. Crane
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, in the Portland First Christian Church for Bernard M. Crane, who died Feb. 22 of a heart attack at age 72. Mr. Crane was born July 6, 1928, in Stayton. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He moved to Portland in 1952, and attended Multnomah College and Portland State University. He was an engineer for KPTV from 1952 until 1960, and then owned Hillsdale Radio & T.V. Service from 1961 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the church. In 1950, he married
Donna Trask.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Darlene Loza and Karen Slusher; son, Kevin; and five grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for the Rev. Vernon Oliver Eggebraaten, who died Feb. 26 at age 94.
The Rev. Eggebraaten was born March 28, 1906, in Ortley, S.D. He attended St. Paul Seminary in Minnesota and graduated from Nyack Missionary College in New York. He received a master's degree from Gordon Seminary in Boston and did graduate work at Boston University. He served churches in Fergus Falls, Minn.; Bangor, Maine; Independence and Spokane, and retired from South Tacoma Baptist Church in Tacoma in 1972. He moved to Portland in 1994 and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. In 1931, he married
Ella E. Olesen.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Roberta Bulger; brothers, Leo and Raymond; sister, Lorene Ludwigson; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His son, Vernon L., died in 1992.
Intement is in Evergreen Memorial Gardens cemetery in Vancouver. The family suggests remembrances to the building fund of Gateway Baptist Church.
The Rev. Vernon Oliver Eggebraaten
A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for the Rev. Vernon Oliver Eggebraaten, who died Feb. 26 at age 94.

Frederick R. Gilbert
Frederick R. Gilbert died Feb. 19, 2001, of kidney disease at age 66. A private service will be held. Mr. Gilbert was born March 3, 1934, in Portland. He served in the U.S. Army, including in the Vietnam War. He was a repairman for MM Electronic in Mount Prospect, Ill., for about 14 years, retiring in 1984. He returned to Portland in 1991. In 1961, he married
Anna Dutczak.
Survivors include his wife; and sisters, Rosemarie Wisenflu and Geraldine Huss.
Interment is in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the United Way. Arrangements are by Wilhelm Funeral Home.
Lena Stute Gueck
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001, in Portland Memorial Funeral Home for Lena Stute Gueck, who died Feb. 25 of cancer at age 91. Mrs. Gueck was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Benkelman, Neb. Her maiden name was Hofer. She moved to Portland from Colorado in 1943 and was a press operator for Rawlinson's Dry Cleaners for 29 years, retiring in 1972. In 1927, she married
Glen Stute; he died in 1970. She married
Troy Gueck in 1974; he died in 1989.
Survivors include her son, Glenn Stute; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her son Mason Stute died in 2000.
Interment is in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to Kaiser Hospice.
Genevieve A. Hartley
A funeral will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Batemen-Carroll Funeral Chapel for Genevieve A. Hartley, who died Feb. 25 at age 87. Mrs. Hartley was born May 15, 1913, in Missoula, Mont., and was raised in Dee. Her maiden name was Peers. She moved to Portland in 1935. During World War II, she was a sheet metal worker for Willamette Iron and Steel, and after the war was a homemaker. She was a member of Cascade Community Church in Portland. In 1929, she married
William G. Hartley Sr.; he died in 1970.
Survivors include her son, William G. Hartley Jr.; daughters, Maryann Doney and Betty Lou Barrett-Temple; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her son Gerald died in 1957, her son Edward in 1987, and her daughter Gale Pearson in 1988.
Interment is in Lincoln Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to her church.
Donald R. Hofmann
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Forest Grove Memorial Chapel for Donald R. Hofmann, who died Feb. 22 of cancer at age 72. Mr. Hofmann was born March 30, 1928, in Lincoln, Neb., and was raised in Forest Grove. He graduated from Forest Grove High School and then served in the U.S. Navy, including in the Korean War. He continued in the Naval Reserves for 20 years, retiring in the 1980s. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and received a master's degree from Linfield College. He lived in areas throughout the United States until 1962, when he returned to Forest Grove and was a seventh-grade teacher in J.B. Thomas and Brown junior high schools in the Hillsboro School District for 25 years, retiring in 1981. He also had an income tax business for 28 years and was a part-time computer program writer for Quest Enterprises for about 20 years. In 1951, he married
Harriet G. Juniewicz.
Survivors include his wife; son, Frank; daughters, Joni Miller and Dawn Ann Hunziker; brother, Robert; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment is in Forest View cemetery in Forest Grove. The family suggests remembrances to Washington County Hospice.
Mary Bernice Holder
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Jennings McCall Center in Forest Grove for Mary Bernice Holder, who died Feb. 22, 2001, at age 81. Mrs. Holder was born April 7, 1919, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her maiden name was Elder. She moved to Seattle in 1929 and to Hillsboro in 1995. In 1999, she moved to Forest Grove. She was a homemaker. She married
James F. Holder in 1937.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Terri Jo Abner and Linda Clark; and four grandchildren.

Darothy Eldeane Houghton
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2001, in Willamette National cemetery for Darothy Eldeane Houghton, who died Feb. 24 at age 88. Mrs. Houghton was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Portland, where she lived most her life. Her maiden name was Fontaine. She was a homemaker and a clerk for Coronet's Variety Store in St. Johns until her retirement in 1978. In 1935, she married
Robert Houghton; he died in 1954.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharill Griffin; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her daughter Patty Griner died in 1996.

Vivian Bell Gesme Humphrey
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Cedar Mill Bible Church in Portland for Vivian Bell Gesme Humphrey, who died Feb. 20, 2001, at age 84.
Mrs. Humphrey was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Monango, N.D. Her maiden name was Gesme. She moved to Eugene in the 1930s and then to Portland in the early 1940s. She worked in the shipyards during World War II and later worked at Tektronix, retiring in 1982. She married
John Clinton Humphrey in 1941; he died in 1977.
Survivors include her sons, J. Craig and Roger D.; daughter, Joy Patterson; sisters, Pearl Lucke, Verna Lacey and Gen Burke; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Kaiser Hospice. Arrangements are by Young's Funeral Home.
Shigeno Ichikawa
Shigeno Ichikawa died Feb. 18, 2001, at age 83. A service will be held later.
Mrs. Ichikawa was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Alameda, Calif. Her maiden name was Maeda. During World War II, she was interned in Tule Lake Relocation Center in California. She was a civilian airplane instrument mechanic at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif., for 20 years, retiring in the late 1970s. She lived most of her life in Rocklin, Calif., and was a member of Placer Buddhist Church. She moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1996. In 1943, she married
Toshio Ichikawa; he died in 1986.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara T. Walker and Gerri Matsufuji; brothers, Rutaro Maeda, James Maeda and Futami Maeda; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver.
