Marie W. Beauvais
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vancouver, Wash., for Marie W. Beauvais, who died Oct. 28 at age 85. Mrs. Beauvais was born Sept. 5, 1915, in St. Ignatius, Mont., and was raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation and in Salem. Her maiden name was Neumann. She was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. A homemaker, she had lived in Vancouver since 1942 and was a member of the church. In 1936, she married
Albert M. Beauvais; he died in 1989.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce, JoAnn Goulder, Donna Hunt and Kay Flynn; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in St. James Acres cemetery in Vancouver. The family suggests remembrances to a favorite charity. Arrangements are by Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home.
Regina Crutchfield-Lampkin
Regina Crutchfield-Lampkin died Jan. 17, 2001, at age 50. A private service was held. Ms. Crutchfield-Lampkin was born Jan. 21, 1950, in Oklahoma City. Her maiden name was Crutchfield. She moved to Portland in 1959 and graduated from Jefferson High School. She was a secretary for a few years in the 1970s and a Jehovah's Witness. In 1992, she married
Claud Lampkin.
Survivors include her husband; stepfather, William Young; sisters, Rhonda Pollard-Ausbie, Rhee Morton, Vivian Mahammad, Jamie Young and Joy Young; and brothers, Richard Crutchfield and Lester Crutchfield.
Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes.
Donald Merle Huston
Donald Merle Huston died Dec. 27, 2000, at age 74. A private memorial service was held. Mr. Huston was born April 10, 1926, in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Portland when he was 10. He attended Benson Polytechnic School and served in the merchant marine and U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He attended Lewis & Clark College and then was a traveling freight agent for Union Pacific, SP&S;, Illinois Central and Kansas City Southern railroads, retiring in 1988. He lived on a farm near Roy for the past 10 years. In 1946, he married
AuraLee Sprague.
Survivors include his wife; son Darryl; daughter, Diane Brooks; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Interment is in Willamette National cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to Veterans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements were by Mt. Scott Funeral Home.
James Larkins
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary for James Larkins, who died Jan. 20 of gastrointestinal bleeding at age 69. Mr. Larkins was born July 24, 1931, in Philadelphia. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a dairy feed nutritionist for Farmers Feed & Supply, retiring in 1992. He was a Cornelius resident for the past 33 years and served on the City Council from 1973 to 1980 and was mayor from 1983 to 1988. He married
Irene Hoffert in 1955.
Survivors include his wife; sons, James D., John R. and Daniel L.; daughters, Julie Larkins, Janet Peterson, Jill Crowell, Mary Huson and Amy Andresen; sisters, Betty Dworak and Chris Schweizer; brothers, Ed, Lee, Bill and David; and 21 grandchildren.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Lung Association of Oregon.
Lloyd William Lea Sr.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Rose City Funeral Home for Lloyd William Lea Sr., who died Jan. 21 of cancer at age 70. Mr. Lea was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Portland. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic School and attended Portland State University. He was an architectural designer for Halvorson-Mason for more than 35 years, retiring in 1995. He attended New Hope Community Church. In 1955, he married
Lula Belle Connelly.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Katherine A.; and son, Lloyd W. Jr.
Interment is in the Rose City cemetery mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to Hopewell House.
Lawrence Earl Betzer
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Beaverton for Lawrence Earl Betzer, who died March 29 at age 87. Mr. Betzer was born Dec. 15, 1913, in Weiser,Idaho. He moved to Orenco in 1942, and was a truck driver for Birds Eye for 32 years, retiring in 1976. He was a past president and board member of Hillsboro AARP. In 1940, he married
Adaline Ballard.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Janice McLain; sons, David and Frank; brother, Frank; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His daughter Joann Thompson died in 1993, and his daughter Barbara Betzer in 1966.

Maurice Eino 'Stretch' Simila
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2001, in New Beginnings Christian Center in Portland for Maurice Eino "Stretch" Simila, who died March 28 at age 74. Mr. Simila was born Jan. 12, 1927, in Brocket,N.D. He moved to Portland in the early 1940s, and served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. He was a lineman for 36 years out of Local 125 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring in 1985. In 1950, he married
Arlene Henery.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Douglas M. Simila and Kenneth S. Simila; stepsons, Larry L. Briggs, Rodney Briggs and Ronald Briggs; stepdaughter, Sherie A. Wait; brother, Kenneth; sisters, Sheila Goin and Dalphene Gilbert; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His stepson Ted Briggs died in 1993.
Interment in Willamette National cemetery. Arrangements are by Lincoln-Willamette.
Leigh A. Hartley
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Washington Masonic Lodge 46 in Portland for Leigh A. Hartley, who died March 18 at age 74.
Mr. Hartley was born May 19, 1926, in Wichita, Kan., and moved to Seattle in 1942. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. He was a manager for J.C. Penney, including at the Union Avenue store in Portland in the 1960s and early 1970s, and retired from the Grants Pass store in 1986. He returned to Portland in 2000. In 1949, he married
Audrey Hammond.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Pamela J. and Jill A.; sisters, Patricia Harvey and Dolores Scott; and two grandchildren.

Mayna Elizabeth Bertelsen
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, in Greater Portland Baptist Church for Mayna Elizabeth "May" Bertelsen, who died April 3 at age 77. Mrs. Bertelsen was born Mayna Elizabeth Chaney on Nov. 17, 1923, in Las Cruces, N.M., and was raised in Portland. She graduated from Jefferson High School and was a stenographer for the Oregon Highway Division for about eight years until the 1970s. In about 1941, she married
Charles Van Winkle; they later divorced. She married
Edwin Bertelsen in 1950; he died in 1979. In 1994, she married
Gene Richter.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Tim Van Winkle, Mick Van Winkle and Dick Bertelsen; brother, James Chaney; sister, Lois Moyer; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bessie Marie Jones
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Riverview Abbey Funeral Home for Bessie Marie Jones, who died March 30 at age 89. Mrs. Jones was born April 13, 1911, in Portland, where she lived all of her life before moving to Vancouver, Wash., in February. Her maiden name was Handewith. She graduated from Jefferson High School and was a homemaker and a 40-year member of the Fourth Church of Christ Scientist. In 1939, she married
Kenneth V. Jones; he died in 1982.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas V. and Ronald W.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Interment in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum. Remembrances to a memorial fund in her name at Pacific Specialty and Rehabilitation Center in Vancouver.
Dr. Lawrence Noall
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001, in Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary for Dr. Lawrence Noall, who died March 26 at age 91.
Dr. Noall was born March 8, 1910, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Utah and Northwestern University in Chicago and was a research fellow who studied scoliosis for one year for the Nemours Foundation. From 1941 to 1946, he was a professor in the division of orthopedics at the University of Oregon Medical School, now OHSU. He then had a private practice at the Portland Orthopedic Clinic until retiring in 1983. He was a staff physician at Shriners Hospitals for Children throughout his career. In 1935, he married
Margaret Parsons.
Survivors include his wife; son, David L.; daughters, Margot N. Pearson and Gretchen N. Reil; sisters, Ethel N. Jarman and Evelyan N. Matson; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Helen June Kansky
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Rivercrest Community Church in Portland for Helen June Kansky, who died March 23 at age 85.
Mrs. Kansky was born Helen June Lotz on Jan. 9, 1916, in Spokane. She moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Parkrose High School and Reed College. She taught at several high schools in various locations, including Woodburn, St. Helens and Palm Springs, Calif. She retired in 1983. She served on election boards in Portland for 20 years. In 1943, she married
George Kansky.
Survivors include her husband; son, Brian G.; sister, Virginia Young; and two grandchildren.
