Lois Imogene Whitesides
A memorial service for Lois Imogene Whitesides will be at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Medford.
Mrs. Whitesides, 100, passed away Friday (June 17, 2005) surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1904 in Rockwell City, Iowa. On Oct. 4, 1922 she married
Frank Whitesides who was a mechanic in Rockwell City. They moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota, where Frank worked on the Alcan Hwy. in Canada. They moved to Kitchikan, Alaska where her husband owned and operated the Y & W Garage.
Survivors include a sister, Gladys Aileen Zaruba of Juneau, Alaska; her son, Dale R. Whitesides of Ketchekan, Alaska; her daughters, Lois E. Sorvisto of Edmonton, AB Canada and Myrna J. (Dean) TenBrook of Medford; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, daughter Elva Gene and son Robert Henry Whitesides; grandchildren, Joyce Baldwin, and Terrance Mansfield.
The family would like to thank the staff at Three Fountains for their excellent loving care of this wonderful lady.
William L. "Bill" West
William L. "Bill" West, died at home Saturday evening, June 18th at age 81, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on February 29, 1924 in Yakima, WA to Harold and Agnes West. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in February, 1943 and served until April, 1946. After the war, Bill earned his bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle. Bill moved to Medford in 1951, where he was a partner in Johnston Stores and partner and resident co-manager of Howard Prairie Resort until his retirement. Somewhat of an institution at Howard Prairie, people vacationing at the lake were always greeted by Bill, the sparkle in his eyes, and his friendly way.
He loved hunting, fishing, photography and gardening.
He was preceded in death by brother Harold, son, William L. West, Jr., and wife Virginia. He is survived by daughter, Peggy West of Seattle, WA; son, Ken West, and grandson, Garrett West, of Medford; and step-son James L. Smith, of Klamath Falls.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 24 at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford, OR.
Bill requested donations in lieu of flowers be made to Providence Hospice or your favorite charity.

Hazel D. Morton
A Memorial Service for Hazel D. Morton will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 131 Mill Creek Dr., Prospect.
Mrs. Morton, 83, of Eagle Point (formerly of Prospect), died Monday, (October 17, 2005 at her residence.
Hazel was born on November 25, 1921 in Corona, CA.
She met and married
her beloved husband, Robert Morton, in 1942 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his death in 1997.
She and Robert moved to Prospect in 1972 when he became the Prospect Postmaster During that period she worked with her husband as a postal clerk until 1984.
Hazel was very active in civic and charitable events in the Prospect community. She was a was a member of the Prospect Lioness Club and was in charge of the Bingo at the community hall for many years.
She enjoyed crafts, especially embroidery and crewel work. She was a great baker and loved flowers and music.
She is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Jo Rodin and Catherine Larson, both of Prospect and Shelly Dauster of Johnson City, TN; a son, David Morton of Port Orchard, WA; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morton; her sister, Lillian Justis and her brother, William Millbank. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lions Sight & Hearing Center, 228 Holly Street, Medford.

Johnnie T. Williams, Jr.
Johnnie Thomas Williams, Jr. died peacefully in his sleep, after a short illness, on October 15, 2005, surrounded by his wife and children.
A viewing will be at 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 20 at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, October 21 at Antioch Cemetary in Sams Valley, OR. Arrangements are being handled by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
He was born on January 6, 1943 in Cotton Valley, LA, made his life in Oregon, but he traveled the country by truck driving.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie T. Williams, Sr.; and best friends, Freddy Roberts and Chuck Lamon.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diana Williams of Talent; five children, "Chaylyn" Sarah Kerr, Tanyau Williams, Cherie Anderson, Johnnie T. Williams III, and Stacie Williams; his mother, Delma Williams; one sister, Mary Anna Williams, both of Shreveport, LA; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; as well as many adopted children and grandchildren; and hundreds of friends all across the country.
Newton McCutcheon
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Newton "Uncle Bud" Edward McCutcheon will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Casey Park, (just below the fish hatchery) on Highway 62. A luncheon will follow to share memories at JJ Norths in Medford.
Mr. McCutcheon, 79, of Trail, died October 13, 2005 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1926 in Manzanita, CO to Jasper and Irene McCutcheon.
Mr. McCutcheon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He worked as a logger most of his life.
Mr. McCutcheon was a member of the Shady Point Seventh Day Adventist Church in Eagle Point.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elsie; five children; four brothers; four sisters; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.
A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend will live in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Elsie for distribution to the charities "Uncle Bud" requested.
Alvin Cozell Manire

Jeffrey Allen Hardrath
Jeffery Allen Hardrath, 59, of Sequim (formerly of Medford) died Monday (October 10, 2005) at the University of Washington Hospital, Seattle. Services have been held.
He was born on July 2, 1946 in Coby, WI to Allen and Doris (Bjorn) Hardrath. On May 1, 1982 he married
Natasha Bulkin in Medford, who survives. They moved to Washington in 1998 for the reason of Jeffs health.
He was 1964 graduate of Medford High. He excelled in wrestling and football. He played football at OSU and was named top rookie of the year in 1965. He received his business degree in 1968.
Jeff worked for FLD Distributing as a sales operation manager in Medford.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son Jeffrey Allen Hardrath, Jr of Eugene; daughter, Shelly Hardrath of Las Vegas; step-daughter, Michele Foran of Seattle; a sister; a half-brother; two neices; and a nephew.

Jerry Allen Herrle
In remembrance of Jerry Allen Herrle, who was born on April 20, 1977 and died on October 6, 2005 at the age of 28.
Jerry was born and raised in the Rogue Valley.
He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
A spring memorial will celebrate his life.
Laza Tomin
Laza Tomin, 75, of Medford, died Wednesday (October 19, 2005) at his home.
Laza was born June 22, 1930 in Dobrica, Srbija (Serbia). He came to the Rogue Valley 23 years ago.
He was a faithful and practicing Eastern Orthodox. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Father Isaac Skidmore of St. Gabriel The Arch Angel Orthodox Church of Ashland will officiate.
Mr. Tomin was quite the handyman and also enjoyed nature. He had been a commercial fisherman in Alaska and later a Longshoreman in the L.A. harbor, belonging to the I.L.W.U. local No. 13.
Survivors include his son, Jonathan Tomin of Portland, Jonathans mother Mary Hartley of Medford; a sister, Milena Josic and brother-in-law, Petar Josic of San Pedro, CA; his mother, Radinka Tomin of San Pedro, CA; a sister-in-law, Radica Tomin; two nephews, Zoran Tomin and family, and Zlatko and Lori Josic; a niece, Natalie Radic, three great-nephews, Christopher Vansel, Peter Vensel, and Dragan Radic; and many friends.
Robert D. Flannery
Robert (Bobbie) Daniel Flannery, 74, of Central Point, Oregon, died September 28, 2005 at Waterford at Three Fountains Nursing Center.
He was born on August 18, 1931 in Crooked Creek, Arkansas, the son of William H. and Hattie Flannery. The family moved to California in 1933 and then to Butte Falls in 1947.
Mr. Flannery served as PFC in the U.S. Army from January 10, 1951 and was honorably discharged November 23, 1956. On June 28, 1958, he married
Doris Marie Schultz of Central Point, who proceeded him in death February 25, 2005, after 46 years of marriage. They had no children. Her obituary was printed in the Mail Tribune on Friday, March 4, 2005.
Mr. Flannery worked in local dairies as well as local mills, Med Ply and retired from Timber Products Co. in the 80s due to health reasons.
He enjoyed raising hounds and horses, tinkering on his truck, hunting and being outdoors and was fond of playing his guitar.
He is survived by children of his deceased brother, Billy Flannery, Celia Harvey of Eagle Point, Laura Anderson of Central Point; Elaina Simon of Medford, Paula Hamilton of Wheatland, WY. Also, the children of his deceased sister, Imogene Standridge, Gary Standridge of Talent, Larry Standridge of Merill; Keith Standridge of Talent, and Lakonya Carter of Talent. Two nephews preceded him in death, Doyle Flannery and Terry Standridge.
A joint memorial service for both Robert and Doris Flannery, husband and wife, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Conger Morris Central Point Chapel, with Dr. Aaron Veach of Hope Christian Church officiating. Interment will be at the Butte Falls cemetery for the family, after the memorial service.
