Chester P. Stickley
The funeral service for Chester Paul Stickley will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday Feb. 7, 2005, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Central Point Second Ward. Bishop Robert Clarno will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Committal will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Stickley, 57, of Central Point, died Thursday (Feb. 3, 2005).
He was born Aug. 24, 1947, in Brush, CO. On Nov. 23, 1966 in Medford, he married
the former June R. Arnspiger, who survives.
Mr. Stickley had lived in the Rogue Valley all of his life. He graduated from Medford High School in 1965. He had worked for the Jackson County Maintenance Dept. and later for the US Postal Service in Medford in maintenance, for 25 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central Point.
Mr. Stickley enjoyed golf and bowling.
Mr. Stickley had served in Vietnam with the US Army 173rd. Airborne, where he received a Purple Heart.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include: a daughter, Jaime (and Jared) Dance of Central Point; a son, Jacob (and Emily) Stickley of Tacoma, WA; his mother, Esther Steele of Buckley, WA; two sisters, Teresa West of Roy, WA, Paula Stickley of Sumner, WA; a brother, Roy Stickley of Sumner, WA; and grandchildren, Garrett, Taryn and Kelden Dance and McKenzie Stickley. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil E. and a brother Brad Stickley.

Ermal 'Ermie' Dallaire
The funeral for Ermal "Ermie" Meatha Dallaire will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Memory Gardens Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tim Olson of Bethel Church officiating. Cryptside services will follow in the Memory Gardens Memorial Park mausoleum.
Mrs. Dallaire, 90, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (Feb. 3, 2005).

She was born on Aug. 13, 1914, in Westlake, ID, the sixth child of a family of ten children, seven girls and three boys. In 1935 in Ashland, she married
Lewis Maharry. Later, on Feb. 14, 1965 in Medford, she married
Raymond B. Dallaire, who preceded her in death in 1997. She had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1929. Ermie and Raymond met at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and were charter members of the Twirlers Square Dance Club.
She retired from Safeway where she was a professional cake decorator, specializing in wedding cakes.
Ermie was an artist, and loved oil painting, especially outdoor scenes, loved gardening and she also loved whistling and singing.
Survivors include: a sister, Goldie Hubbard of Jacksonville; a brother-in-law, Art Maggenti of Medford; two step-children, Victor Dallaire of Medford and Bonnie Dudley of Central Point; and many nieces and nephews of three generations. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 to 7:30 pm at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane.

Harold 'Bud' Hildreth
A memorial service for Bud Hildreth will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, at the Sacred Heart Church.
Harold "Bud" Hildreth, 77, of Medford passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2005.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1927 in Walnut, Nebraska to Floyd and Elsie Hildreth. On June 11, 1949 he married
the former Rita Kocina who survives.
Bud served two years in the U.S. Navy. After leaving the service he worked in the Data Processing field. In 1964 he moved his family to Medford, where he was employed at Bear Creek Corp. for 22 years until he retired in 1986 as Vice President in charge of the Data Processing Department.
Bud was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He served as member on the St. Mary's High School building fund and the Sacred Heart Finance Committee.
He enjoyed camping with his family as well as hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Rita, survivors include one son, Larry Hildreth of Central Point; three daughters, Geri Frickey of Bend, OR, Teresa Mayer and Cheri Marrs both of Medford; a brother, Garold Hildreth of Jacksonville; three sisters, Helen Mitteis of Royal NE, Frances Blessen of Verdigre, NE, and Lavonne Pavlick of Leesburg, GA; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret L. Langhoff
Margaret L. Langhoff, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2005.
She was born Margaret Fehrs, on September 7, 1908, in Pierre, South Dakota. On November 5, 1928 she married
Orval Langhoff in Pasco, Washington. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1951. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970. Survivors include: her son Robert Langhoff of Medford, Oregon; her daughter Jean Lund of Shady Cove, Oregon; 6 grandchildren, Marcia Ramsay, Julie Warrington, Steve, Parmelee, Rob Langhoff, Ron Langhoff, Lisa Hammon; 10 great grandchildren, Shane Ramsay, Jasen Parmelee, Todd Parmelee, Amanda Parmelee, Andrew Parmelee, Kristi Langhoff, Brian Langhoff, Hayley Langhoff, Jaime Hammon, Jacob Hammon; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Dakota Parmelee, Ashley Parmelee, Baelie Parmelee, Taylor Ramsay, and Kaitlynn Ramsay.
Margaret was loved by many, and will be missed.
There will be a memorial celebration of her life on February 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship in Talent, Oregon.
Maury Isted
Maury Isted, 86, died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at him home in San Marcos.
Born April 5, 1918 in Bemedji, Minnesota, he lived in the Escondido/San Marcos area for 40 years. He retired in 1960 as Sales Manager for Pine Products. Lumber Company in Prineville, OR.
Mr. Isted lived in Medford for 5 years in the 1960's. He also owned Avis Rent-A-Car & Tolo Cedar Mill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Grace Church in San Marcos and had been active in Heart to Heart (Palomar Medical Center), and liked to travel, fish and golf.
Mr. Isted was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Isted, in 1997. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Casad of Medford, OR; daughter and son-in-law Niki and Cliff Barbour of Escondido; son and daughter-in-law Charles and Sharon Isted of Central Point, OR; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, at Grace Church, 1020 Rose Ranch Road, San Marcos. Private entombment is planned at San Marcos cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations to Grace Church, 1020 Rose Ranch Road, San Marcos, CA 92069
Paul Perper
Paul Perper, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend died Friday, January 28, 2005 at Ashland Community Hospital in Ashland, Oregon at the age of 91.
Born October 21, 1913 in Jackson, Michigan, Paul grew up in Flint, where he met and married
Shirley Orwant Perper. They lived and worked together in Clio, Michigan until they moved to San Francisco in 1964 with their children, Sharon and David.
In 1977, Paul and Shirley retired to Merlin, OR and began to organize the Jewish community in the Grants Pass area. It was during this time that Paul began to realize his joy of teaching Hebrew and preparing Jewish children for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Over the next 27 years, he instructed scores of children and adults in everything from conversational Hebrew to the study and chanting of Torah.
Until the day of his death, Paul Perper taught and imparted his knowledge of all things Jewish throughout the Southern Oregon Jewish Community and, in particular, at Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland. He touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed by family, friends and community.
Paul Perper is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; David Perper and Rosemary Cameron of San Francisco. His daughter, Sharon Perper, and his granddaughter, Rebecca Perper, both of Ashland. His sister; Sophie Barkman of West Bloomfield, MI., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 1994, and brothers, Mandel and Sol.
Donations may be made to Temple Emek Shalom Matching Building fund. A classroom will be named in Paul Perper's memory.
Sharon Ruth Anderson
Sharon passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2005. She fought a long, a very brave, and a valiant fight against ovarian cancer for the last seven years.
Sharon was born in Tacoma, WA, on April 26, 1951. She lived in the San Diego and Oceanside, California areas for 42 years prior to relocating to the Rogue Valley. She attended the Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch, and Calvary Chapel Fellowships while in California.
Sharon worked in the nursing field for 15 years, predominantly in the home health care setting. She had a special compassion for the elderly and considered it a life calling as well as a ministry to serve the sick and disabled.
Sharon will be remembered as a warm and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Larry Anderson, Jr.; one son Jade Bufarale; two grandchildren David and Faith Bufarale; her father-in-law Larry Anderson, Sr., all of Medford; her sister Robin and brother-in-law John Gallagher of North Carolina; as well as the following sisters and brother from Tacoma, WA: Pam Hansen, Betty Hank, Sally Clifford, Sandy Cried, and William Moon. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Ken and Ruth Paul.
During her battle with cancer, Sharon was always grateful for the care she received from her oncologist, Dr. Gerald Ahmann, from the Providence Oncology nursing and support staff, and in her last days, from all of the Providence Hospice nurses. She deeply appreciated the excellent cancer treatment that was administered to her, and she was especially grateful for the loving and compassionate care she received from all.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held on Saturday, February 12, at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Road, Medford. Pastor Webb Staunton will officiate.

Vern Dungey
Vern Dungey, age 86, died Thursday, February 3, 2005 in Medford.
Vern was born on January 7, 1919 in Gold Hill to Elmer and Laura Dungey. He married
Maxene Dungey, who preceded him in death.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a mill worker. Vern enjoyed exploring and reading about local history and sites.

Vern is survived by his daughters, Jill Atkinson and Kimberly Dungey; sisters Nona Dungey and Weegie Marsden; and grandson, Paden Atkinson.
Burial has taken place at the Siskiyou Memorial Park. Perl Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia C. Schwagerl
Virginia C. Schwagerl, 84, of Medford passed away February 3, 2005 at her home.
She was born on April 24, 1920 in San Francisco, California. On February 4, 1940 she married
Frank F. Schwagerl, who preceded her in death. Son, Paul, also preceded her in death.
She was a devoted wife and mother and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include: Son Frank K. Schwagerl; daughter Kathy Del Grande; grandsons Ron & Kevin Del Grande; and sister Mary L. Nelson of San Fransisco, California.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 7, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Alice B. King
Alice King, 83, died Sunday, March 27, 2005 at her home in Medford, OR.
She was born February 12, 1922 in Milbank, SD to Edward and Elsie Angerhofer. On November 24, 1944 she married
Lawrence D. King in Bremerton WA. They retired to the Rogue Valley in 1979.
Alice was a farmer and homemaker. She loved her family and will be missed. Mrs, King enjoyed horses, gardening and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a long time member of Gloria Dei Lutheran in Central Point.
Survivors include Larry, her husband of 60 years; daughters Sandra Gordner and her husband Dan of Eagle Point, Arlene Rousan of Central Point; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death, as did a daughter, Carol Martin, who passed away in l994.
Services will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (745 N 10th St, Central Point) on Saturday, April 9 at 11 a.m.
Contributions may be made to the church in her memory.
Inurnment: will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford, OR.

Bertha "Betty" Silbowitz
Bertha ("Betty") Silbowitz, died peacefully Sunday, March 27, at age 96, with friends and family around her.
Betty was born in Poland in 1908, came to New York City with her parents at age 12, where she grew up and married
her husband Solomon.
They retired to Berkeley, CA in 1972 where she remained until moving to Ashland to live with her son in 1998. Betty was a talented Milliner by trade. She loved life and treasured her grandchildren, and always had kind words and good advice for everyone.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy and her two sons, Maurice and Joshua, and son Alfred and his two daughters, Sarah and Deborah. Her husband Solomon died in 1991. Betty was buried beside him at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in El Sobrante, CA on March 30, with friends and family in attendance. Transportation and arrangement were handled by Littwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home of Ashland. There will be a memorial service for Betty Silbowitz at Noon on Wednesday, April 6, at Havurah Shir Hadash at 185 N. Mountain Ave. in Ashland. A light lunch will be provided.
