People who knew Slugger can celebrate his life at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, in the clubhouse at Table Rock Mobile Village, 2385 Table Rock Road, Medford.
Slugger passed away at the age of 45 on March 18, 2005 at Providence Hospital in Medford.
He was born on February 13, 1960 in Springfield, Oregon to Delbert Anderson of Creswell, Oregon and Esta Quinnell of Medford.
Slugger will be dearly missed by his sons, Jesse Raymond Anderson, and Bradley James Andersen both of Cottage Grove; his beautiful granddaughter, Aubrey whom he loved with all his heart; and Debra Maddess, who was the love of his life. He was a loving brother to Diana Dreyer of Alaska; Linda Lane of Medford; Virginia Anderson of Newberg and Matthew Quinnell of Medford. Slugger also will be missed by his grandmother, Willie Aline Quick, and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Slugger went to school, worked and lived in Crescent City, California until moving to Cottage Grove in 1987.
He was a logger who loved everything about being in the woods. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and being with his friends and family.
Slugger always lived life to the fullest. He was a happy-go-lucky person with a warm heart and a hearty laugh.

Eloise L. De Somer
Eloise L. De Somer, 79, of Ashland died Saturday (March 19, 2005) in Ashland. No service is planned.
She was born on March 29, 1923 in Marysville, CA to Chris and Agnes Mayer (Roderick). On Oct. 25, 1944 in Flordia, she married
Richard J. De Somer who preceded her in death.
Mrs. De Somer enjoyed fishing and playing bingo.
Survivors include her son, John S. De Somer; daughters, Sharon L. Short, and Julie A. Cantonwine; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard C. and Michael A. De Somer, her sisters, Billie and JoEtta; and two brothers, Harrison and Jack.

Glenn Williams
Glenn Williams, 77, of Medford, passed away at his home Thursday (March 17th, 2005).
A graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Siskiyou Memorial Park, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lila Williams; and his brother Keith Williams. Four other siblings preceded him in death: Helen Anderson, Dick Williams, Charles Williams, and Lee Williams.
He was a dedicated father to eight children: Forrest Williams, Ronald Williams, DElila Barnett, Judy Pulido, Janet McCraken and Rene Williams. Two children preceded him in death: Rhonda Williams and James Elliott. He had 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Gene Williams.
Mr. Williams was born on August 19, 1927, in Menlo Park, California to Jay and Nettie Williams.
He enlisted in the Navy on May 12, 1945 and received three medals for his service in WWII.
Mr. Williams graduated from Central Oregon Community College, with an associates of fine arts.
He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Williams worked many years in farming & ranching. He was a business owner for many years here in the Rogue Valley. In his twenties he was a professional guitar player and singer. And in his retirement, he performed in the area's group, "Old Time Fiddlers." He enjoyed the love and respect of a large family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association or to the American Heart Association.

Paul Fredrick Mather
A memorial service for Paul Fredrick Mather will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the Red Lion, 200 N. Riverside, Medford. Mr. Jan Williams, Elder at the Shady Cove Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and Mike Starr, Elder at the Crater Lake Kingdom Hall will officiate.
Mr. Mather, 77, of Medford, died Friday (March 18, 2005) at his home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society or Asante Hospice.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1928 in Chiloquin, OR to Howard and Hazel Mather. When he was 2½ years old, he moved with his parents to Prospect from Chiloquin. On Nov. 5, 1945 in Reno, he married
Lorraine Govenor who survives.
Mr. Mather worked as a Sales Administrator with the Prospect U.S. Forest Service until his retirement in 1986.
He served as an Elder at the Crater Lake Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He dedicated his life to do Jehovah's will on Feb. 17, 1951, and served faithfully up to his death.
Mr. Mather's hobbies included Koi Ponds, fishing, and mowing lawns. He loved vacationing, especially in Hawaii.
In addition to his wife, Lorraine, survivors include his daughters, Sharon Frazier and her husband Warren, of Medford, and Charlotte Carrico and her husband Wesley of Prineville, OR; two brothers, Richard of Lake View, OR, and Robert of Medford; sisters, Neva Johnson, Dorothy Sutherland both of Medford, and Ginevra Nauke of Terre Bonne, OR; five grandchildren, Shannon and Doug Weaver, Monte and Corinna Frazier, Janell and Harley Gilman, Tera and Jason Rutherford, Roxanne and Jeff Mattern; and eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, and Sierra Weaver, Miranda and Alyssa Gilman, Tyler and Tucker Rutherford, and Colby Frazier. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Mather.
The family would like to thank all for their support, and love they showed Dad to the end. He never quit wanting all his friends and six million brothers and sisters to come visit him.
A special thanks to his Hospice nurses Marylou and Marsha, and his special friend and nurse Jude Santana.
This wonderful loving husband, Dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend will surely be missed .
Royce Hayward Mayo
Royce Hayward Mayo, 80, of White City, Oregon passed away on March 21, 2005 at his daughter's home after a battle with congestive heart failure and dementia.
Royce was a son of Lylia Clyde and Carrie Lee Mayo. He was born on July 4, 1924 in Newton County, Mississippi.
He served in the U.S. Navy for almost four years during World War II as a gunner's mate. He moved to Ashland, Oregon in 1952 where he worked for Jim Bush Ford. He owned and operated Mayo Custom Cabinets and Furniture for twenty-four years and owned his own roofing business in Medford for a number of years. Royce also performed in local establishments with his own country western band during his early years in Oregon.
Royce enjoyed putting his creative talents to work in his music and the beautiful furniture he created. He also loved fishing, hunting, and gold mining on the Applegate.
Survivors include: his beloved partner, Bonnie McGehee of White City; his former wife, Virginia (Elouise) James of Medford; his daughters, Mary Struck of White City, Betty Petersen of Lacey, Washington, and Virginia (Ginger) Baker of Fairbanks, Alaska; his sons Father Aiden (Jim) Mayo and Royce Lynn Mayo of Portland, Oregon; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Mayo of Mississippi; sister Marie Perritt of Florida; and his extended family, Sam McGehee and Becky Kurz of Medford. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Hal; second wife, Joanne Mayo; and his extended family, Sandi Chapman and Brenda Jordan of White City, Oregon.
Private services will be held at a future date.

Andrew George Fenney
The Fenney family announces with deep sadness the death of Andrew George Fenney on March 31, 2005 from complications following heart surgery.
Andy lived in Medford in the 1960s and owned the Brave Bull, a club / restaurant. He was involved in Real Estate there, and was a member of the Rogue Valley Country Club.
Cecil James Johnson
Cecil Johnson, 92, of Central Point, passed away Friday (April 1, 2005).
Cecil was born on Aug. 1, 1912 to Peter and Jemima Johnson in Cloverdale, CA. On April 9, 1941, he married
Beulah Moxon in Arcata, CA. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956 where he worked in saw mills and had a small dairy. He continued working until the age of 75.
He enjoyed going to garage sales and fishing. His greatest pleasures were raising a garden and canning, most of which he gave away. He also enjoyed eating out.
The family would like to thank the food servers at Shari's in Central Point and Spicers in Medford for making everything "right like downtown, " his favorite expression. Also, a very special thank-you to RVMC Hospice for their sincere caring and kindness.
Cecil was a member of the First Christian Church of Medford.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1988, and eight brothers.
Survivors include a son, Cecil Johnson (Vicki) of Salt Lake City, Utah; three daughters, Joyce Horton (Warren) of Central Point, Janice Mack (Henry) of Central Point, Christine Winter (Ron) of Gold Hill; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson of CA; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to RVMC Hospice or to the First Christian Church of Medford.
Private family interment has been held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. A memeorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Memory Gardens Chapel, Medford.
Cecil died in faith, and has risen in hope.
Dona Mae Pottruff
Dona Mae Pottruff, of Central Point, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born August 4, 1932 in Rochester, Minnesota to Elmer and Hazel Johnson. Dona graduated from high school in Kasson, MN and was active in cheerleading and band. After graduation, she moved to Seattle, WA and married
Earl Pottruff in 1952. In 1958, Earl and Dona moved to Southern Oregon to raise their family.
Dona was a Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce member and was affiliated with the West Main Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping, running, and her true passion, bowling. She began bowling for fun shortly after moving to the Rogue Valley and quickly became dedicated to the sport for almost four decades. In addition to participation in local, regional, and national events, Dona was intricately involved with the Medford Youth Bowling Program as a Certified Junior Coach. She was also Director of Public Relations and Publicity for the local bowling associations in Southern Oregon. In 1969, the Medford Mail Tribune honored Dona with the Pinfare Bowler of the Year award. In 1983, she was inducted into the Medford Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame and was named Amateur Athlete of the Week in 1996 by KDRV Channel 12. In 2001, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Oregon State Women's Bowling Association. Her most notable attribute was that she cared deeply about promoting the sport of bowling through media recognition.
Dona was a loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband Earl, survivors include her children: daughters, Suzanne and Michele, and sons, Jeffrey and his partner Susan, and Michael and his partner Sherrie; her brother, Duane Johnson of Rochester, MN; her sister, Nancy Renard of Manorville, MN, and her two grandchildren, Emily Pottruff and Kevin Bratton.
A memorial service to celebrate Dona's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the Lava Lanes Bowling Center, located at 2980 Crater Lake Hwy., Medford.

Dorothy Jean Green
Dorothy Jean Green, 89, of Medford, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at her daughters home in the Applegate. Inurnment will take place at Rose Hills cemetery, Whittier, California.
Mrs. Green was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 12, 1915. She had worked as an assembler in the defense industry for General Dynamics in Pomona, California.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Cawein of Applegate and Linda Cooney of Medford; two sons, Robert L. Green of Lombard, IL and Donald W. Green of Santa Ana, CA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Eileen Rupnick
Eileen died suddenly Wednesday evening, March 30, 2005, at Providence Hospital.
Born March 6, 1953 in Valperaiso, Indiana, Eileen spent her youth in Southern California before moving to Medford in 1976 and marrying Vincent Rupnick at Sacred Heart Church. They have lived in Ruch since 1978.
Eileen was devoted to her family. She loved the outdoors especially when she could garden and spend time with her animals. She was preparing to celebrate her 3rd anniversary of being cancer free.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent of Ruch; children, Kimberly Fradelis of Danville, CA and Forrest Rupnick of Tillamook; two grandchildren; sisters, Kathy and Maureen Rust of Jacksonville; brothers, Michael Rust, Sr. of Central Point and Robert Rust of Diamond Bar, CA; and mother, Mary Rust of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church immediately followed by a celebration of her life at her mother Mary's home in Jacksonville.
