Brian K. Davis
Brian K. Davis, 42, Arlington, Texas, died Friday in Arlington.
He was born Nov. 16, 1958, the son of Bill L. Davis and Donna I. (Hause) Davis. He had earned his bachelor's degree at Oklahoma Baptist University and a jurist doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa. He was a self-employed civil law attorney in Fort Worth, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 11 and a half years, Kathy Davis of Arlington; sons, Joshua Daniel Davis and Jacob Samuel Davis, both of Arlington; his parents Bill and Donna Davis of Seminole; a brother Mike Davis and his fiancè, Mary Henniger, of Addison, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Bill Campbell of Seminole; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Jean Myers of Arlington; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Chris Huffman of Fort Worth, as well as many other relatives.
Services were held Monday at First Baptist Church, Arlington. Burial was in Andice Cemetery in Andice, Texas. Arlington Funeral Home of Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Friar Connor
Frances Friar Connor died Friday.
She was born in Seminole on Jan. 2, 1920, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Harvey Friar.
Mrs. Connor had worked at Bethesda Nursing Home in Silver Springs, Md., as activity director for 25 years. She was married to Powell Connor.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and three sisters, Gladys Opel Mizzle, Roselee Friar and Evelyn Lee Franklin.
Survivors include her brothers, Mark Harvey; the Rev. Donald Gene and Martin Luther Friar; two sisters, Bessie Botsford and Roxie Sue Chambers, as well as many other relatives.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Little Chapel of the Roses at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Vondell Smith and Son Mortuaries, Oklahoma City, is in charge of arrangements.
James Laverne Carter
James Laverne Carter, 82, died his Perry home on June 25.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1918, to James D. and Bertha (Long) Carter. He attended school in Seminole and had lived in his Perry home for more than 30 years.
Carter was a retired oil pumper who had served in the Air Force during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers, Cotton, Harvey, Bud and Charles.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of the home; a son, Gregory of Louisiana; a daughter, Meredyth of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Virginia Carter and Gary and Shirley Carter, all of Seminole; Jimmy and Amanda Carter and Melvin and Sherrian Carter, all of Shawnee, and Lonnie and Doris Carter of Ratcliff City; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Edna Williams of La Porte, Texas; Maxine and Garnet Cole of Jenks; Betty and Mark Ruiz of Tecumseh, and Gloria and Jim Grimes of Midland, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.
No services were held.
Frank E. Windel Sr.
Frank E. Windel Sr. died Saturday in his Shawnee home. He was 66.
Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park. The Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson will officiate.
Windel, the son of Troy and Dora (Stultz) Windel, was born in Shawnee on June 24, 1935.
The retired farmer had begun operating the River W. Trucking Company in 1992. He retired from the company due to recent illness.
In 1956, he and Nancy Yvonne Cox were married. He had lived in the Bethel Acres area since that time.
Windel served a tour of duty with the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and continued his employment with Tinker Air Force Base until his 1987 retirement.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, V.F.W., American Legion, A.L.P.C.A. and was a Mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Walter R. Windel.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Marquita and Mickey Lowe of the home, and Jennifer Windel of Oklahoma City; son, Frank E. Windel Jr.; grandsons, Alexander Frank Windel and Tom Miller III; brother, John T. Windel of Shawnee; sister, Dorothy Simpson of Shawnee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Ruby Mae Dobbs
Ruby Mae Dobbs, 92, Benbrooke, Texas, died Monday in a Texas hospital.
Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.
Viola Pearl Parrish
Viola Pearl Parrish of Shawnee died Monday at a local hospital. She was 88.
Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
Wanda Jo Little
Ada resident Wanda Jo Little died Saturday at a Midwest City hospital at the age of 63.
The lifetime resident of the Strother-Little community was born June 29, 1938, in Prague. She was the daughter of George and Maudie (Bryan) Coker.
On Feb. 26, 1953, she married Mitchell Little in Shawnee.
Mrs. Little was a retired tool crib attendant at Tinker Air Force Base. She was a member of Hitchitee Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; one daughter, Michelle Little, and one grandchild, Ted Brockie.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Osceola Sr. and Cena Little of Seminole; Jason and Becky Little of Shawnee, and Tony and Yolanda Tiger of Oklahoma City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dixie and Mickey Brockie of Hays, Mont.; Shelia and Leonard Harjo of Ada, and Reta Little of Seminole; a brother, Frank Coker of Locust Grove; a sister, Susan Griffin of Fredericksburg, Texas; grandchildren, Meev Brockie, Donny Keller, Shyla Keller-Price, Joe Little, Sharkara Keller, Preston Little, Cody Harjo, Osceola Little Jr., Hank Brockie, Mitchell Little, Mitch Price, Stacy Little, Colleen Brockie, Dakota Little, Dallas Little, Aaron Tiger and Jason Tiger; as well as three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hitchitee Methodist Church. The Rev. Abraham Jackson and the Rev. Michael Svitak will officiate. Burial will be in Hitchitee Church Cemetery.

Cora Henderson
Cora (Hester) Henderson of Seminole died Saturday at Pioneer Nursing Home. She was 87.
Mrs. Henderson was born Dec. 27, 1913, in Oklahoma to Charlie Edward and Sadie Sarah (Seals) Hester. She lived most of her life in the Seminole and Konawa areas.
In 1934, she married Clarence Richard Smith and he preceded her in death in 1975. In 1960, she married John Henderson and he preceded her in death in 1980.
A homemaker, Mrs. Henderson was a member of the V.F.W. in Guymon.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, four children, a brother and two grandchildren.
Survivors include her five daughters and sons-in-law, Verda Simmons, Blackwell; Barbara Taylor, Seminole; Martha Ropp, LaMont, Okla.; Bobbie and Paul Postman, St. Louis; Shirley and James Anderson, Tonkawa; four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Smith, Oklahoma City; Jackie Smith, Henryetta; Willard and Mildred Smith, Blackwell; Clarence and Annie Smith, Konawa; brothers, Frank Hester, Seminole; Henry Hester, Hayden lake, Idaho; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charley Henthorn officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
Ruby Dixon
Services for Ruby Dixson, 79, Alva, are pending with Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Dixson, a former resident of Pottawatomie County died Monday.
Zelma Lorena Hill Markwell
Graveside services
for former area resident Zelma Lorena Hill Markwell, 89, are 10 a.m. today at Meeker's New Hope Cemetery.
Vernon Markwell will officiate. Visitors will be received at the home of Vernon and Gail Markwell following the services.
Mrs. Markwell, a former resident of Shawnee and Meeker, died Saturday at her home in Houston, Tx.
She was born May 16, 1912, in Chandler to John Bunyan and Nora Wilson Hill. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1929 and attended Central State College, receiving one of the first lifetime teaching certificates.
She received a full degree from East Central State Teachers College and taught for 38 years, beginning at age 18 in an eight- grade, one-room rural school. She was an elementary teacher in Tecumseh, Meeker and Prague until her retirement.
She and Elvan Christopher Markwell were married in August 1931. He died in July 1976 and Mrs. Markwell moved to Houston for a short time. In 1979, she moved to Washington to be close to her mother.
In 1995, she moved to Brady, Texas, to be near her daughter and relocated to Houston in May 1999.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, where she earned the nickname "Card Lady" for sending 30 to 50 cards of encouragement to members and their families weekly. She also served as state treasurer of the Alpha Delta Sorority of Teachers and was past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delbert Hill and Alva Hill.
Survivors include her daughter Susan Markwell, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Steve Sutton, Philadelphia, Pa., Julie Sutton Brown, Tampa, Fla., Sean McGee, Houston, Texas, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Ruby Underwood.

Floyd L. Perryman
Former long-time Shawnee resident Floyd L. Perryman, 80, Oklahoma City, died Saturday at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Gainsville, Texas, the son of Arch Henry and Nora Ellen (Rasure) Perryman.
Perryman was reared in the South Rock Creek area. He attended South Rock Creek Elementary School and graduated from Shawnee High School.
He married Mattie Frances Bass in 1953 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Perryman and his family owned and operated a sand-dredging business for more than 40 years in the Cromwell area.
At 17, Perryman joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Although he had fulfilled his tour in the Philippines, the bombing of Pearl Harbor necessitated his stay in the Philippines. He was captured on the island of Corregidor and was a Japanese prisoner of war for more than three years. He was liberated and released in 1945.
Perryman was a member of the Veterans of Foreign and the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action. He also was a former member of the Lions Club and a lifetime member of the DAV.
Perryman lived in Shawnee from 1923 until 1989 when he moved to Oklahoma City.
Perryman was an avid pilot.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Douglas Perryman.
Perryman is survived by his wife of the home; son, Jeffrey A. Perryman of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Ge´Nell and Rick Austin of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Michelle Belcher, Jeffrey Kane Catlett, Floyd Joel Catlett, Hunter Ford Perryman and Ricci Michelle Ferguson; six great-grandchildren; two sister, Maurine Rice of Eufaula and Delores O'Toole of Colorado; and one brother, Bill Perryman of Prague.
Funeral services
will be 2 p.m. today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made in Perryman's name to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or Disabled American Veterans.
