Christopher Lee Ryan
Christopher Lee Ryan died Wednesday. He was 18.
Ryan was born Sept. 25, 1980, in Shawnee to Charles David Ryan and Donna Lee Ryan.
He attended Prague Schools for many years and graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah. He had planned to study architecture at the University of Utah.
Survivors include his parents, Charles David Ryan, El Paso, Texas; Donna Lee Ryan, Midway, Utah; sister, Christina Lynn Ryan, Shawnee; uncle and aunt, Roy and Linda Danyeur; cousins, Gabe and Tammy Danyeur; sister-in-law, Staci Ryan; nieces, Ashley and Kassy Ryan; nephew, Alex Ryan; and uncle, Marion Francis Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David James Ryan.
Private services will be under the direction of Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home of Heber City, Utah.
Lillian A. Maxwell
Former Shawnee resident Lillian A. Maxwell of Tecumseh died Friday at a local hospital. She was 79.
She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Shawnee, the daughter of Fred Grady Huckabee and Alice (Fullbright) Huckabee.
Mrs. Maxwell worked for Sylvania Electric then became a licensed practical nurse working at Mission Hill Memorial Hospital and Broadway Hospital. She retired from Shawnee Medical Center.
She married Johnie E. Maxwell on Oct. 7, 1937, in Tecumseh. Mrs. Maxwell was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and its TNT Choir.
She moved to Tecumseh from California in 1946 then moved to Shawnee in 1949.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 18, 1991, parents and a brother, Freddie Huckabee.
Survivors include son, Johnie F. Maxwell, Shawnee; grandson, Tyler Maxwell, Shawnee; daughter-in-law, Holly Maxwell, Choctaw; two step grandsons, Phyllip Brotherton, Choctaw; Justin Brotherton, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Hazel Longacre, Seminole; Velora McGee, Pampa, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Veva L. Hopkins
Veva L. Hopkins died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was 92.
She was born Feb. 23, 1908, in Wetumka, the daughter of William J. and Berth (Grimes) Helms.
She married F. Richard "Dick" Hopkins on Sept. 15, 1926, in Prague. Mrs. Hopkins worked for the Department of Public Welfare in Lincoln County for more than 16 years.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Chandler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Don J. Hopkins of Chandler; Richard L. Hopkins of Placitas West, N.M.; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Wilkerson-Chapman of Placitas, N.M. one sister, Melba Clark of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, Chandler, with the Rev. Fred Rider officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
Georgia Fay Lehman
Georgia Fay Lehman, 88, Tulsa, died Tuesday at a Tulsa hospital.
Surviving are her two sons, Bill Dodd of Tulsa and Jack Dodd of Greenville, Tenn; one daughter Lynn Teague, Blanchard; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Mayhue officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka.
Martha S. Winfrey
Martha S. Winfrey, 62, of Shawnee died Tuesday in a local hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of Homer and Nellie (Venerable) Mullen.
Her first husband was Teddy R. Roach, who died in April 1996. She was a homemaker.
She married Jerald Winfrey on Aug. 30, 1999, in Indiana.
Winfrey was a member of the Baptist church. She came to Shawnee in June 2000, having lived in Johnsville, Ohio, before that move.
She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband.
Survivors include her husband, Jerald Winfrey of Shawnee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond R. and Shari Roach of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, David M. and Claudia Roach of Stuttgart, Germany, and James B. and Janis Roach of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia M. Gillispie of Elkin, N.C., and Mary L. and Brett Jobe of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond H. and Mary Mullen of Shawnee; her mother, Nellie Mullen of Shawnee; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
Rubula Hargrove
Wanette resident Rubula Hargrove, 101, died Wednesday at a Purcell hospital.
Services are pending with Walker Funeral Service.
Luther Edward Pace Jr.
Luther "L.E." Edward "Eddie" Pace Jr., 72, died Wednesday in Okemah.
He was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Midway, Okla., to Luther Edward and Mary D. (Dyer) Pace Sr.
He was reared in the Micawber and Paden area and attended Paden schools. He left early to join the U.S. Air Force and later spent 25 years in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he worked for Robison & Cartage as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and a mechanic.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge while in Michigan and retired to the Paden area in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Louise and Robert Hoogerhyde of Greenville, Mich., and Linda Ellen Wycoff of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and William Harrall of Lowell, Mich., Vera Cheatwood of Paden, Ruth and Joseph Renihan of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Juanita "Pat" and Wayne Davis of Paden; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel of Prague with Bro. Paul Heard officiating. Burial will follow at Micawber Cemetery near Paden under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Rose Ann Swing
Oklahoma City resident Rose Ann Swing, 67, died Saturday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Don Musgrove of Harrah and Larry Musgrove of Oklahoma City; one brother, Darrell May of Oklahoma City; one sister, Betty Jo Dye of Moore and three grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel of Konawa with the Rev. Mitch Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
John Ward
Harrah resident John Ward, 59, died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
He was born March 26, 1943, in Shawnee to Chester H. and Zella (Goforth) Ward.
He attended Shawnee High School and worked as a program manager for Tinker Air Force. He also worked at Bazemore Automotive when he was young.
Ward married Diane Faulks May 26, 1967, in Pompano Beach, Fla. He lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma City and Harrah.
Survivors include his wife, Diane of the home; son and fiancee, James Ward and Marci Bennett of Enid; daughter, Regina Ward of Harrah; grandson, Zac Ward of Harrah; two brothers and sister-in-law, Mickey and Nelda Ward of Shawnee and Jerry Vernell Ward of Shawnee; sister and companion, Chestene Dawkins and Randy McElroy of Shawnee; parents, Chester and Zella Ward of Shawnee and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. The casket will be open until service time and will not be opened after the services.

Seminole resident Daisy Sandfur, 73, died Saturday at a Shawnee hospital.

Eugene Curtis York
Eugene Curtis York, 79, died Tuesday.
He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Cassie J. Hensley and Frances M. York, both of Oklahoma City, and Rich and Tracy A. Hanks of Midwest City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerri and Eugene C. York Jr. of Edmond, and Betty and Jimmy H. York, of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Ernestine Kidwell and Frances Cagel; a brother, Glen York; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; lifelong best friend, Lee Brooks and friend Merle McMasters and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bill Eisenhour S.E. Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhour S.E. Funeral Home.
Richard Lynn Stewart
Former Tecumseh resident Richard Lynn Stewart, 49, of Lynn, Mass., died Monday.
He was born Nov. 26, 1952, in Andrews, Texas, to Robert Elmer and Juanita Edith (Stapp) Stewart.
He has lived in Massachusetts since 1987.
He graduated Tecumseh High School in 1971. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received a bachelor's degree in journalism.
He worked for the Daily Oklahoman, and after moving to Massachusetts, he worked as a city planner for the city of Cambridge, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Juanita Stewart of Tecumseh; two brothers, Robert S. Stewart of Tecumseh and Stanley A. Stewart of Claremore; an uncle, James W. Stapp; four nieces; and two nephews.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Rider officiating. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Bobbie Jean Henderson
Bobbie Jean Henderson, 63, Shawnee, died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m., today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Black Oak, Ark., to William and I.V. Davis Sparkman. She attended Arkansas schools. She lived in Shawnee for the past three years, moving from Tulsa.
Henderson was president of the housing project High Rise on West Tenth Street.
Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Henderson, McLoud, Jimmy Henderson, Tulsa, William Henderson, Tulsa, Robert Henderson, Tulsa, Larry Henderson, Coweta; two daughters, Kathy Shelton, Tulsa, Sharon Langston, Tulsa; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers Dean Sparkman, Richard Sparkman, both of Monette, Ark., Jimmy Sparkman, Lake City, Ark.; three sisters, Betty Smith, Lake City, Ark., Helen Williams, Monette, Terri Cook, Tulsa; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
